Dr. Lessep once treated my cat Willona well, but my senior dog Santo's recent experience here completely changed my view. After Santo's ER visit for his first seizure--32 hours after a Cytopoint shot from this clinic--I called three times (right after opening, 12:45 PM, and 2:45 PM). Not one call was returned. Every staff member gave a different excuse, and no one requested his ER records like they said they would. I eventually got them myself within minutes. To make matters worse, both exam rooms I'd been in were dirty (one smelled of feces, another had a puddle of urine ignored by staff). This lack of professionalism, communication, and basic care during an emergency was inexcusable. I expected compassion and honesty. Instead, I got excuses and silence. I won't be back. read more

Your staff is wonderful but prices high. I was recently quoted 1330.00 for a procedure which was pricey. So I shopped around and found an excellent vet in Lucedale MS and they performed the same procure for 430.00 That animal clinic is 40 mins from here. It was worth the drive . They have a massive staff and was surprised when Lucedale is a small little town. Maybe The Pet Connection would do better if they would charge less than local competitors to increase sales by volume. In Moss Point Ms which is about 13 miles away has walk in clinic no appointments. They charge lower than this area. It's first come first serve and they stay packed every day. Just a suggestion. The Pet Connection could use some updating and expansion of the waiting room. read more

The only drawback is the time to get an appointment...but now that we know that we just try and schedule early and in the future. Our two dogs were treated with love and kindness and the cuts were just great. They listened and followed our guidelines and we are very pleased with this groomer and the front office personnel. Never had an experience with a vet quite like this one. I took my cat to get a CBC and they took her back, then came right back and said they were unable to get blood and they'd have to put my cat to sedate my cat to get blood. My cat is the sweetest and posed no harm to them. Vets are supposed to be trained to pull blood even if a cat is a tad flinchy. I was told by the lady at the front desk that the vet who owned the place he would be able to pull blood so I made a different appt with him. In between I had to also bring my dogs for a CBC and the Dr who owned the facility (and the one who I'd made the new appt with for my cat), was the one I was seeing for this appt. I asked before they went back with my dogs if they'd have a problem getting blood from my dogs since one was a bit hyper and his vet tech said , "No, we can get blood no problem anytime, it'll be fine." I was wondering why the other vet techs from my previous appt with my cat had such a problem. This vet tech had no problem and I was happy to think that I'd be seeing this vet with this vet tech when I brought my cat back, since they had no problems drawing blood. Well, when I brought my cat back for her appt., the Dr who owned the practice(same as who'd just seen my dogs), entered the room with all of the vet techs who'd had an issue getting blood the first time and not with the vet tech who said it'd be no problem getting blood from the dogs . She was there though and did not accompany him when I brought my cat back. These were the same vet techs who had a problem the first time and they all had their arms crossed just staring at me making me feel extremely uncomfortable. They were trying to make me uncomfortable and seemed mad that I'd brought this same cat back to see a different vet. How dare I huh? The Dr didn't even try to pull blood, he just stared at her walking around the room and then finally said that by simply observing her, he'd have to sedate her to get blood. He didn't even try. I said well what about giving her some gabapentin and he said no that's not enough that she'd need to be fully sedated to pull blood. He was ready to take her back right then and I said that she had eaten that day already and had water and he said oh yea, well we may want to try and reschedule that appt. I told him I never would have made the appt that day had I not thought from the previous interaction with the dogs, his tech saying she had no problem, would I have even made the appt that day! He'd brought in all of the techs who had such a problem getting blood from my sick feeble cat who weighed next to nothing from throwing up and losing so much weight. Not one vet had ever had an issue getting blood from her besides them and they made sure I was uncomfortable every time I came back. When I called for my dogs lab results she didn't even go over everything; I had to hire someone who'd go over their results. I was still trying to work with them but the last straw was when I called today and asked if a hairball would show up on X-rays. The girl said so, I assume you're so and sos mom(she said the name of my cat and my last name), and I said yes that's correct. She immediately said, " I've told you that in order for us to do anything with your cat we'll have to sedate her. ???? I had just told her that my cat was still losing weight( because they weren't helping, only making things worse), and throwing up every day and I needed them to help her. The only thing she had to say was that, "I told you anything we do with your cat well have to sedate her first." Anything? My cat is frail, has never even bitten me or ever showed any kind of aggressive behavior and had never had any issues with any other vet.!! But this was her cold response to me almost being in tears because my cat needs help. She was fuming mad. And why? Why had she been so extremely nasty to me anytime I called or came in? Why? And why had no other vet besides this one have such an issue just simply getting blood work? Not one vet there showed any interest in helping my cat. I was made to feel uncomfortable and my cat was left with no help from them. This has to be the worst vet on the coast and the staff the most unprofessional I've ever dealt with! They basically denied my cat help and now I'm trying to find someone to help her. Vets are supposed to be trained to get blood. I can see if the cat is crazy but not my cat; most dossil thing ever snd sweetest. Can you imagine your cat needing routine blood work once every couple of months and your vet saying he'd have to put your cat to sleep just to get that. Do you know how dangerous is it do sedate a cat that often? How untrained is a vet to have to put your cat to sleep just so they can do a simple blood draw? I want to warn anyone going here about these people! I'm also filing a formal complaint and other things against this practice. They should not be in business and be able to treat anyone's pet or people the way we were. read more

I bring in my long hair domestic cat every summer for a shave and they do a fantastic job. He comes home wanting to rub up to everything in the house. He usually doesn't like to be touched that much but when he is shaved down he jumps up for hugs and rubs. The only thing negative is if you don't call in for an appointment months in advance for cats the wait is long because he has to be seen by the vet to be put under and that costs more than the actual grooming. read more

I have been a client for many years. I have a number of dogs and always feel that my beloved pets are receiving the best of care. The staff is excellent and accommodating. I'm not sure why the reviewer below feels the need to write the same mean review over and over again. How odd. Anyway... I've had my Cocker Spaniel mix Honey Butters groomed by Panda three times now and each time she did an excellent job. I am very particular about my baby too. I have taken her several other places and feel Pet Connection is the best. Honey Butters looks awesome and is in a great mood when she comes home. She wags her entire body when she sees Panda so I can't imagine her doing anything mean to any pup. Highly recommend and will be bringing her back! read more

The Good & The Bad ! First the good . They didn't hurt or cut the dog and they gave her a bandana ! Also we were pleased with the style of the trim ! Now the Bad . So, I have been a customer with the pet connection for 8 years. I also board my three dogs there. I recently left on a 5 day trip. When I returned and picked up my dogs they were all acting strangely, kind of distant and not happy. As soon as I got home I took them outside. All three of them immediately started relieving there bladders, but it went on for awhile. Then they all three went #2. two of them went twice and the largest dog went three times. After awhile I brought them in and feed them, then took them out again. Two of them went #2 again. Awhile latter when we were all inside my female wet the floor ! She hadn't done that since she was a puppy. I called the Pet connection and they told me they were in grooming all day and they did go out once in the morning. Something went very wrong. I leave the dogs inside while at work all day. They never have any accidents. I dont believe they were let out at all on the day I picked them up. This will be the last time I board them there and probably will switch vet's completely. Robert C. read more

I have used Pet Connection for day care and grooming, but never an overnight boarding or veterinarian care for my male 1.3 year old dog. Last week he stayed over one night. As I waited to pick up him up (24 hours - 8am - 8am), my dog came into the waiting room of Pet Connection escorted by a tech. As he came out, he flooded the floor with dark urine. He was unable to stop himself - squatting like a puppy and unable to hike his leg due to the amount of pee. I even tugged on the lead to get him outside , but he could not stop. It was upsetting to watch as more than 4 cups flooded the floor. As I took him out, he continued to urinate on several spots in the yard as well as defecate in a front grassy area. Often a boarded dog will be excited or anxious to pee and poo, but this was unlike anything I have ever experienced. When I called and asked for the walk/break schedule for boarded dogs, I was told it is twice daily and scheduled from 8-9 am and 2-3 pm which means a dog is left in his crate/pen for 16-18 hours!! I called a second time to speak with the kennel manager and she confirmed this schedule. I asked her to preserve records for my dog on when he was walked or notes if he ate/drank/urinated/defecated. I asked to have the owner/veterinarian call to discuss this policy, but have not received a return call for a week and a half. I have only had compliments for the groomer and the staff until this so this review is not intended to get anyone in trouble or criticize staff who do not make policy. It is about a policy that could be remedied by adding hours at the beginning and end of the day to allow dogs to go potty. If staff has not noted or witnessed a dog relieve himself, extra attention should be paid to accommodate this. Training, attention to a dog's specific needs, and coordinating this between staff is the least I expect. This current schedule is unacceptable for my dog. Please make your own decision if you want your pet in a crate for 16-18 hours without release or a veterinarian who approves this kennel schedule. I will continue to use Oakmere Kennels which I highly recommend for their care, concern, large yard to run, and an owner who lives on property. EDUCATE YOURSELF and ask questions before you leave your pet. I learned the hard way. read more

We are so pleased with the services of Dr. Lennup and her staff - she has taken great care of our beloved Tasha for many years now and has always done a great job. She has recently done an amazing treatment for a painful hip condition on our husky/collie mix with some injections and medication and it has been nothing short of miraculous! She is running again and hopping into our van and acting like her old self! We are very pleased and so glad to have her acting like she did years ago. I highly recommend this place! read more

I have been taking my cocker spaniel Prince to Pet connection for the last three years. The groomer Panda has always done a fabulous job with him & he is always happy to see her. Recently during Prince's grooming I ask Panda to check his ears he seemed to be scratching more than usual sure enough they were red & irritated. The veterinarian prescribed ear drops once a day for 10 days. I took him daily for ten days & the vet techs administered the drops & kept his ears cleaned out as well. For ten days they took very good care of him at no charge to me who does that ever????? The entire staff at Pet Connection is prompt, friendly, & professional. I encourage anyone looking for a veterinarian and or groomer to give them a try you won't be disappointed. I live in Biloxi it's really not convenient for me but it is so worth it..... read more
