FAILURE TO SECURE THE SAFTEY AND WELL BEING OF A MEMBER On…read moreSunday Feb 8 2026 a severe weather warning is in effect around 6:52 pm. It's 11 degrees outside but with the wind it feels like -2. Just before this branched closed up at 7pm I received a call from my daughter explaining she had locked her keys in her car and asked if I could bring her spare. I explained I was on my way but she needs to stay indoors until I got there. Sub zero temperatures plus post work out sweat, winter jacket and minimal clothing make her chances of exposure to the elements increasingly hazardous. However, she informed me the front desk staff insisted she could not stay indoors after 7pm. My wife called the front desk and pleaded to keep her indoors and out of the freezing cold but was rejected. I then called and pleaded and then insisted on her safety and I to was also rejected. We were only asking for a short grace period. We were asking for the well being and safety of a current member and only for a short period of time. I was told by this uncompromising and inconsiderate front desk staff member that "insurance doesn't cover that.." and they were "..done with this conversation.." at which time they handed the phone back to my daughter and said to her that I "..was being an Asshole" and loud enough that I could here the insult over the phone! I call this a total disregard of compassion, professionalism and respect. I call it a total disregard for the safety and well being of another human being.

They have an indoor pool and outdoor pool. However, the membership only covers the indoor pool. The outdoor pool is extra. The cycling room is nice. They have an indoor track, which I love during rainy days or summertime when it's too hot to be outside. Since they've reopened after the Covid 19 shutdown, their hours have changed, so check before going. They have small classes for every level. They now have classes online. Overall, I enjoy the Y and will continue to go there.

Took my first group barre class with RISE last weekend at a charity event, and was SO impressed!…read moreThe class was organized, well paced, and Ali & Jeannine brought great energy and were super motivating and encouraging. Can't wait to take another class-if you're looking for an awesome workout, this is definitely the place!

I have been wanting to try a barre class for awhile but never got around to doing so. I discovered…read moreRISE Barre & Fitness when I signed up for ClassPass and decided to give it a try. The studio itself is awesome! It is super clean and sleek, giving off a radiant vibe the moment you walk in. There are cubicles available in the back of the studio where customers can store their belongings during class. Don't have barre socks? RISE has you covered. They offer a handful of different colors for you to choose from and they are fairly inexpensive as well. Not to mention, they have an entire wall of adorable merchandise that can be purchased by the customers. Being my first barre class ever, I was SUPER nervous and had no idea what to expect. My anxiety was instantly relieved by the friendly staff and the welcoming customers taking the class. I was shocked at how kind these people were. Honestly, some of the nicest people I have ever met while taking a fitness class. The instructor who taught the previous class walked my friend and I through what equipment we needed and explained what barre was all about which was great since both of us had no idea what we were doing. Our instructor was wonderful as well, extremely motivating throughout the entire class, and corrected any movement that I was doing wrong which was super helpful. They play great music too which helps push you through the pain you may be experiencing as you go about the workout. I definitely left the studio feeling like I got a great workout in. I am so happy that I found this studio and will definitely be back very soon for more classes!

Members not consulted about changes. They just come from above. music in gym & outdoor pools outrageously loud. Most people have their own headsets & music. But can't be heard. & no amount of requests seem to yield results. This person says that person that person say oh it's from there. Etc. Equipment disappears- you like it? Too bad. It's gone. So it's a lot of $ - maybe worth it particularly if you are a swimmer

I had been happily attending until a series of negative events caused me to cancel my membership…read more It started with my nephew who had been involved in kids Academy, and wound up breaking his arm there. He reported, slipping and falling on something wet, which leads me to believe that the facilities weren't being properly monitored for cleanliness and safety around children. The following week, my son fell in his lip was busted, but the team in charge of kids academy really had no explanation as to how that happened either. Finally, in an attempt to relax recently, I chose to enjoy the steam room and hot tub on site. Both rooms had mold on the floor, and when I went to take a shower, I found that someone had detangled their hair and smeared it on the wall of the shower and that no one had bothered to clean it up. At over $200 a month for the membership you would expect that maintenance will be available and that I would not have had hair balls flying at me when I tried to get in the shower, but that is not the case. I reported this issue to the front desk and they gave me the email address to their manager. Unfortunately, I was given the wrong email address and the email bounced back. I copied the overarching Life Time email address in my communication and all I received was an automated email saying that my membership has been canceled. No acknowledgment of my experiences there. Extremely disappointing.

I was asked while meeting with a coach (Coach A) to take it off (by Coach B). I calmly obliged with no argument. After taking it off was told by an athlete that I need to leave things like that at the door, again I calmly stated no problem and went about assisting with the next class. Two days later I received a phone call from the owner letting me know that they would not be moving forward due to my scarf making a member/members feel uncomfortable (again at no time did I make a fuss about taking it off). During the call I remained civil and said I understood and in no way made a stink about it. At the end of the conversation the owner brought up their competition the following month for which we were sending two teams---'If I felt uncomfortable they could just give us or money back'---at no point did I make any indication that I was uncomfortable but clearly they were uncomfortable having my teammates and I in their gym. The CF/Functional Fitness community is about inclusion in all aspects of life, they made a very clear line in the sand that not only was I not welcome to the possibility of a position in their gym (which hey whatever) that as a result I was not even welcome to compete in their gym, as if I would make a scene of some kind while there. On top of all of this when I interviewed I had applied for their posted Full Time position and was consistently clear that was my goal---there was not a full time position available come to find out.

Chris and his staff always work very hard to meet the needs of the Kanna community (especially during Covid times). The workouts are challenging, but always scalable and safe. The community is caring, supportive, and a lot of fun. The facility has all the equipment we need and about to get a major update as we move to a new, bigger space. I can't recommend Kanna Fitness enough.
