This allows you to improve your exercises progressively, while maintaining breath and range of motion. I did The Perfect Workout two or three years ago and it made such a huge difference for me. Took a little break because of finances at the time and slid right back into being in pain again. I've been back since November and it's made such a difference for me. I'm a dancer so I ask for a lot from my muscles so this slow motion strength training is so perfect for me. My friend wrote a book* on mindfulness-based high intensity strength training, and as a person who has struggled with autoimmune disease, "high intensity" felt like the last thing I wanted to ask from my beleagured body. I had sortof come to accept that I was evolving into my grandmothers' round body, the descent had begun even in my mid-50's. I AM SO GLAD I FOUND TPW!! I KNEW my body needed strength training for bone density but nothing I saw out there was workable for me. TPW is wonderful. I've been doing it for 6 months, and I am remarkably stronger and confident in that (I haven't felt this strong in 15 years) and my college daughter came for Christmas and said "wow, your body is so different from when i left for school!" I feel better, I look better, I know my bloodwork is better and can't wait for my next bone scan (never said that before). The trainers are great, and I love the 20 minute workout - everything feels manageable even though it's heavy! I've gone back to my friends' book and it's given me a lot of background and science that shows that this style of workout is remarkable for the body (I didn't realize 'slow motion' was 'high intensity'). I have written reviews before for The Perfect Workout, however, I was feeling compelled to update my previous review. I have been training at the Laguna Niguel studio for over 12 years, during that time, Kim Van Loon has always been one of my trainers and the manager, her expertise, attitude, warmth, never ending drive to listen to her clients needs and to continually provide the most beneficial workout experience possible, has definitely helped to keep me wanting to come in for my workouts. Truly can't stress enough, how important it is to feel safe with your trainer and not be concerned about any possible injuries. I can't tell you how many new trainers, have expressed to me their respect for Kim's training and guidance for them, it's so refreshing to hear so many positive comments from employees. As a business owner for over 35 yrs, I can see what a great example Kim sets for the other trainers at her studio, her training schedule is typically very full and she always sets her clients and fellow trainers needs ahead of hers. The vibe at this studio is so positive, fun and upbeat, definitely a very cohesive team, who enjoy what they're doing to help their clients. There have been so many great trainers at this studio, I will miss Ashley, who has chosen to pursue other avenues. I know that the management at TPW recognizes the importance of quality employee retention and the cost of recruitment and training. Obviously maintaining an excellent reputation is a huge level of success factor, which is largely achieved through top notch management practices/policies and qualified, talented and happy employees. Even though COVID presented many challenges and hardships to many businesses, glad that Laguna Niguel studio was able to offer at least Wednesday evening and Saturday appointments again, hopefully this continues. The Perfect Workout has a great product/service, although it's not inexpensive, however, as long as they maintain their ongoing level of quality service, I can honestly say, that I'm happy to pay the price and feel the value/benefits are well worth it . I started at the Perfect Workout in 2017 as a complete rookie to strength training with Cindy. When my stay in CA ended, she found me Discover Strength in another state. I'm back in CA and have trained with Kim for the past months. She has helped me gain strength by helping me focus on form and body posture during the workout to target the correct muscles to strengthen. Her good eyes and gentle touch has made me aware of how to correct bad habits of letting my shoulders take over when the triceps muscle is the target to strengthen. I have been training at The Perfect Workout for more than a year and have seen amazing results. Very quickly I went from a size 9 to a 5 with twice a week 20 minute workouts. My posture improved as well as my general sense of well being. I have been a member at the Laguna Niguel studio since March, 2015. Kim is my regular trainer and she is awesome. She aways pushes me to work as hard as possible so I get the most out of every workout. I'm much stronger and more toned than I've been in 20 years. I've also been trained by Ryan, Cindy, Monique, and Ina and I love them all. They always encourage all members and are super supportive. And, they make it fun to come in and bust my butt for 20 minutes twice a week. I also did the Optavia weight loss program through Perfect Workout and got excellent results. Any workout must be combined with good nutritional habits to achieve maximum results. As a 65 year old prostate cancer survivor, I have spent the past year trying to put together a complete program that incorporates fitness and nutrition. The Perfect Workout has been a part of this program for the past year. The facility is an eight minute drive from my house, so the entire workout takes less than 45 minutes out of my schedule twice a week which is extremely efficient. I was somewhat fit when I started the program but have lost five pounds and replaced body fat with muscle mass during this period. I believe the Perfect Workout is great as a part of a total plan, but I would not count on any miracle results from just doing this workout alone. I supplement with 4 hours of beach walk cardio per week and a high protein, low carb diet of around 2500 calories per day. With this program, I have maintained a weight of around 185 lbs. on a 6'1 frame. In this context, I give the Perfect Workout 5 stars. The trainers are great and push one to his or her limit. I plan to continue with the program as a part of an overall regimen. read more
