It is difficult watching my daughter regress after just completing a success volleyball season with her school. My daughter said that her coach is "all talk and no teach" which is evident in how the girls play. My daughter advised me that her coach told the players that parents were complaining and the coach blamed the players as opposed to taking ownership that she lacks the skill to coach them. Every week they run the exact same drills and no actual teaching or coaching takes place. If my daughter and I was looking for recreational fun and games this would have been perfect however we were looking to enhance and develop skills. We didn't get that at Empower.

At the tryouts, we were told we need to sign the contract immediately and pay $500 before we leave to hold a spot for him. Uh, HUGE red flag. We tried out at another club and have been very happy there. Girls - My daughter played on a national team. I will confirm what other negative reviews state - limited practice space, lots of wandering around at practice, not practicing enough (4 hours of practice/week for a national team?!? Good luck in those tournaments playing clubs that invest more in their players). I'm giving 2 stars because we did luck out and liked our coach and teammates. (I feel bad for some of these other teams with inexperienced coaches and high turnover.) In the end, it was far from enough, so we switched. Thankfully, there are a lot of great clubs in the area to choose from. My advice is to skip this one.
