Fun vintage furniture, reproductions, and decor! I bought my daughter's bedroom suite here and several accent pieces. I love looking around here periodically to see what's new. There's also a talented custom furniture maker that sells there who makes very nice stuff. The women that work there are very friendly and helpful. We love waking around and rarely leave empty handed.

The Perfect Piece is a store of mixtures. It's a mixture of a consignments, furniture, and home and garden. The visual treat starts before you even enter the main door. The front entrance is filled with statues, dried flowers, vases, and tables that give you the first hint of what you'll find inside. As I walked in the main door, one of the owners immediately greeted us, explained the layout of the store: the perimeter has consignments; the interior, furniture from model homes, gently used. The basement has items that either are on sale, or haven't yet made their way upstairs for showing. It's a beautiful store, with nearly everything you could want, and that's probably why it's one of the better named stores of its kind. It's inevitable you'll find a perfect piece for something. It's not a thrift store, so anyone on the hunt for inexpensive won't find that here. For me, it's a special occasion store and a fun store to browse. There's so much here, one visit won't let you spend time seeing it all.

Most things seem too nice for outdoors, so perhaps they're more for an indoor garden room. Either that or I totally misunderstand the garden part of home and garden. It is a good store to find a nice gift, with the small statues of every kind, clocks, mirrors, pictures, wrought-iron wall ornaments, and even some personal items, like jewelry, scarves and handbags. In the back room is the most beautiful log cabin dollhouse that I've seen in some time. Elizabeth's is a relaxed store, where they've kept the feel of the house. There are two small rooms on the first floor and a larger room with the larger items, upstairs. Despite the limited space, there's still a light feel. In my visits to Elizabeth's there's been something new to see. Certain things are moved to another area, displayed in a different way, giving it a fresh look. The owners seem to have a great deal of retail experience that shows in how they treat their customers and in their down-to-earth attitude -- especially noticeable during the holiday rush shortly after they opened.

I've been searching for some smaller pieces for my downsized abode and haven't been too enamored of one store, yet. That may change now that I've seen what Streets of London has available. SLA carries some beautiful Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, and early American furniture, some with the most exquisite carvings. They truly are works of art. There was a mirrored Victorian organ, a French mirrored armoire, and a 1940s era silk embroidered sofa, that I could not stop staring at. And for the sofa, I know I'd be sitting on the floor in front of it, admiring the detailing; probably defeating the purpose of having something that nice. There isn't just furniture here, either. For whatever period, there's art, lithographs, bed frames -- brass and wood, glass punch bowls, silver tureens, china, and tea services. One silver tea service was the type with the pot on a hinged device where it could be tipped for pouring without having to be picked up. That was the first time I've seen one of those up close. Although I was completely stunned at how many gorgeous pieces I saw, most of them were far too big for my available space. That's where the owner, Gill, came to my rescue. She told me the smaller pieces were always the first to be sold, but she was expecting another shipment later this year. As she's trying to sell down her inventory in advance of the new shipment, she tempted me sorely by telling me she may be willing to deal on some of the existing inventory. I now have a reason to go back besides just for a visual treat in the genre of wood. Until then, if there's any way I can make that organ or sofa fit . . . where did I put that measuring tape and yardstick. . . .

They're unorganized and messy, but man, is it fun to find a good bargain! Yes, there's more junk than useful items. However, they do carry lots of name brand items for cheap. I don't know why I buy from retailers at full price, Ollie's is where it's at!! From Yankee Candle to Olay and everything in between, you bet your bottom dollar that you're going home with something...and if you're not, you didn't spend enough time browsing. Here are just a few things I've gotten from Ollie's: a Stephen King graphic novel of The Dark Tower for less than $4, a secret Santa gift filled with journals, crayons, colored pencils, and two drawing pads (don't forget the gift bag, tissue paper, AND a card) for less than $15, Yankee candle melts for less than $2, a Yankee candle oil diffuser for less than $4, a large bag of brand-name veggie chips for less than $2, St. Ives body wash for less than $3, a Febreze car plug in for less than $1. I can go on and on. Ollie's has discounts and it's super easy to spend at least an hour here while you bargain shop. The staff here are very nice! There were two cashiers and one floor staff and they all greeted me nicely and were very friendly. Is Ollie's a disaster? Yes. Are the floors uneven and unfinished? YUP. Are you going to save money? Absolutely. It's chaotic good, my guys!

We have not moved for 26+ years and going from a 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom home in Florida to a 2/2 apartment home in North Carolina has us challenged on many fronts surrounding this life change. Jenna was super friendly and very supportive and relaxed throughout the morning of our shopping the Cooper's showroom in Cary. I had seen an upholstered king bed on their website which was the piece that drove us to Cooper's in the first place. Jenna let us know the approximate delivery time and it seemed way too far out so we walked the showroom pondering our options. There was a lovely console table that would fit just perfectly in our new space and Jenna arranged to have the floor piece delivered in a fairly short turnaround time so that we could have something lovely in our new home. When I called back a couple days later to inquire about that same bed we had seen at the start of our furniture search, Jenna was very helpful and super organized with getting us pricing and ETA's on both the bed and a narrow lingerie drawer that would fit our smaller footprint. All-in-all a painless and seamless process so far. We attribute this to Jenna's extensive experience and great demeanor. Thank you.
