Quaint little tea room that served great coffee every morning to us during our stay. Very sweet staff and great homeade chocolate bars.

I'd have to say that this cafe is pretty much my favorite one while I lived in Glasgow. I…read morefrequented it almost once a week. Now that I'm back in America, I miss this place a lot! Glaswegians, your cafes have definitely spoiled me and I can't find anything that compares to this in the U.S. When you walk in, you automatically get this cozy and warm feeling. Try to get a seat in the upstairs dining area, because this is where you will feel the most warmth. I also like sitting in the bar stools by the window because I like looking outside at the rain. If you find yourself waiting for a table, just take that time to browse the pastries, savory foods laid out, and even their selection of cookbooks. Their selection of cake and tarts change daily, but if they have leftovers one day then they serve the leftovers the next day until they are gone, but a lot of the time their pastries sell out on the first day. Bonus to this is that your pastries are definitely fresh! But the pastries still taste good even if they are a day old. Trust me. My go-to pastries were the Belgian Chocolate Cake or the vanilla custard tarts. This cake has hazelnuts inside of it and is served with raspberries, chocolate bits, dusted with sugar on top. If you love chocolate, this cake is the way to go. The vanilla custard tarts reminded me of home (because I would get Egg Tarts at Chinese bakeries and this vanilla custard tart tasted just like a egg tart) The only difference is that the tart at Kember & Jones had flaky layers of crust, which made the tart even better. My go-to drinks are hot chocolate or the Moroccan Fresh Mint Tea. The hot chocolate is served with foam and little chocolate bits on top. The Mint tea is served in a clear glass, but it comes hot (which was weird because I didn't think you would serve hot drinks in a glass) but I understood why because it has a bunch of mint leaves in it that changes the color of the drink to a light tan. It's cute and if you have a sore throat, it will make you feel better. Other things that I have tried and loved were the Warm Waffle (because it was served with syrup and fresh fruit), the French Lemonade (It was pink lemonade with a little bit of sourness), and the macarons (They make different ones each week. Try all of them because they go fast! I have to say during Christmas time their Christmas pudding one tastes pretty good, too.) Last thing to note is that the staff is very nice. I never really feel pushed to leave. They are polite and attentive.

Oh dear, I've clearly not been paying attention! What I do know is that they have a wee makeover recently and it's worked, because the signage caught my eye and I knew I needed to pop in to check it out. I visited for afternoon tea with Donald M but I'd just eaten, so I only fancied a tea rather than anything to eat. It's a lovely space - the colour scheme is amazing and gives it a pretty cool vibe, very sleek, modern and classy. There's a huge display case of fresh salad items where I assume they can whip you up whatever you fancy. There's bagels, panini, sweet treats and soup - your typical lunch offerings. I opted for a cup of tea - berry - and enjoyed it in the snug window seats which are a great idea. They're padded and cosy and great for people watching and chatting away. The staff on were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home and not rushing us when they were getting close to closing time. This is a great spot in Finnieston and would make for a great cafe to pop by for lunch when you don't fancy a sit down restaurant meal in one of the many restaurants along the strip. I'll be back for lunch very soon! Note: they take Swipii card.

I find it a shame that there is nothing different on the menu, as everywhere I go in the area I seem to see the same menu on offer, panini, jacket potato, and soup. I'm sure I'm one of the few people left in Glasgow who hasn't tried Tribeca, and finally made my…read moreway there for lunch. At first, I was impressed. The place is nicely decorated after the recent refurb and has some interesting prints on the wall. Menus were in front of us when I arrived although they are very worn and tattered - maybe some new ones are in order? I ordered the buttermilk pancakes after hearing so much about these and was impressed to be asked whether I wanted the bacon crispy (yes, of course, it's the only way to eat bacon). The meals arrived shortly after we ordered. And I mean shortly - maybe 5 minutes, 10 at the most. There was a large stack of three very puffy pancakes in front of me, a couple of slices of bacon and a jar of maple syrup. Now, I've eaten a lot of pancakes in my time. I was disappointed that these didn't have a hint of being freshly cooked - they were warm and doughy in the middle rather than being piping hot. I think maybe they'd been cooked and reheated. The bacon a strange flavour, like it had been cooked on a grill with a burger (and not in a good way). And the maple syrup was incredibly runny, like water, rather than a thick drizzly consistency that you'd normally expect. It really wasn't to my taste but I know a lot of people really like Tribeca, so maybe it's me, not them. Our plates were cleared and then shortly after the manager came over with two more meals - nope, we've already eaten. Our bill was then delivered to the table next to us - nope, that's ours thanks. It came to around £10 each with a drink and I was pleased to be on my way.

I had…read morelistened to people rave about it for yonks before I took the plunge and got a birthday breakfast down here with my friend last year. My first experience was great. Got fluffy, fresh pancakes smothered in syrup and topped off with bacon rashers. Washed them down with tea. Loved my meal and still felt envious of my friend's full English which, unfathomably, looked even better. Paid up; left feeling satisfied. What more could a girl ask for? Of course i returned! Great service, smashing scran - you would. So it's with a heavy heart that I deliver the news - it wasn't that great second time round. The food was still amazing, and the girls serving us were still lovely. But they forgot our order. We waited an hour. We were ravenous. We had to ask three times before it eventually came. And they forgot my boyfriend's bacon but still charged him the extra money for it! I do not like to complain about food. We're so fortunate to be drowning in restaurants in Glasgow at the moment. The cafe scene is always evolving to become better, stronger, to include local sources. So service that falls short of a certain level tends to stand out. The people serving us could not have been more apologetic. We got a discount because, after being a barista and doing customer service for a decade, I know how to complain. When you complain, take into consideration how rushed off your feet people are when they're serving you, and all the rudeness they have to sustain. Working in hospitality should be mandatory as a rights of passage, because it's relentless and not always rewarding (even in a swell place like Tribeca). I'm still in customer service and if you're an inflated, pompous git you'll not get anywhere with me. So I really don't like having a whinge, but things went wrong in here that day. And waiting an hour and a half for food is a bad impression, especially when you've raved to your partner about this place for weeks! In the end we got a discount, sincere apologies, and the poached egg/salmon combo was incredible. The girls who work in here are truly lovely, and I would give it another bash on those accounts. But being looked over for 90 minutes while other customers blithely dine is a disappointment.

I was on my way back from an audition, and saw the words "Salad Box" in the window of Brunch. Seeing that they had no reviews, I went in to give them a go. I was met by two very friendly people, and then place looks and feels clean and tidy. that's about the extent of the positive experiences. The salad bar has a lot of basic salad ingredients like iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomato, but nothing that really inspired me. Being vegetarian, I was also no able to have most of the "fillings" as they called them, and went with the egg and mayo. What I ended up with was very similar to what I call the "sad salad" you get with a curry, plus some egg in Mayo. All this was slapped in a styrofoam container and served up to me. Three quid. The resulting meal was bland and not at all filling. Thankfully they had some beetroot and jalapeños, otherwise the only flavour I would have had would have been the chunks of red onion. (Chunks of onion are not nice in a fresh salad.) I ended up having to eat something else as well, which I think is really the main sin here. At the price, I can deal with a tasty half-meal or a bland meal, but not a bland half-meal. If I get the job I auditioned for in the area, I'm afraid I won't be returning to Brunch.

The servers were friendly and checked in often, and the place itself was actually fairly big (had 2 floors and we sat in a corner on the second floor), but it had a quant feel. The cost per person was reasonable in my opinion at £16 per person for a mini pot of tea and selection of sandwiches and tea cakes. We really enjoyed our experience there and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a lovely afternoon tea!

Named so as it sits on the corner of Dumbarton & Meadow Road. They don't have a sign as yet but my coffee-loving eyeballs spotted all the coffee making gear a quality coffee shop doth require & enter did I... I'm a fan of the look of this place - lots of wood and metal which is v.s'nice. Not many tables as such but still a good amount of seating in here. It was both nice and airy & warm (bonus this time of year!) at the same time. The greeting was also very warm from the 2 lovely guys behind the counter. I asked if they had soya milk which unfortunately they didn't so I opted for a regular cow milked flat white. They use Dear Green coffee beans here so straight away I knew it was going to be a damn fine cup of coffee before that liquid jump-cable juice had even hit my lips. Upon the lovely long counter they had a few cakes and bakes - a banana loaf, a salted caramel millionaires shortbread, some peanut butter brownies & also some undescribed biscuits which turned out to be ginger snaps & free ones at that! Yas. Bonus. I took a ginger snap & a brownie home to try later and both were delicious, especially the immense peanut buttery gorgeous, dense, chocolatey brownie, uh! So so good. If you like brownies then you NEED to try these. One of the best I have tasted (besides my own of course, haha!) NOMSVILLE. Needless to say my flat white was really good also. Spoke to the guys about opening hours and they said as they're newly opened they're still taking each day/week as it comes which makes sense, however for now it's pretty much 8am until 4 or 5pm. They also said soon they will be offering more (hot?) food so will open later then. I picked up a wee card by the till & on it says 'Meadow Road Coffee & Pizza Co' soooooo I am assuming (and hoping!) they will soon be serving delicious homemade pizzas here too! Wow. What a dream shop - coffee, cakes AND pizza?! Yes please thank you very much! Mmm.... A most welcome edition to this part of town (there are no decent coffee shops near this part of Partick/Thornwood) and a solid 4 stars and I will deffo be back again. Can't wait to see what these guys have up their sleeves...

I'm not even a big cake eater, but I will make an exception at Meadow Road. We were in a couple of weeks back and were pleased to find that they now serve hot food (we were told by a friend that they had issues getting a license to sell food) and we shared a Salmon and Avocado Bowl, which kind of does what it says on the tin. The ingredients are top quality, they don't skimp on the salmon and it has a great salad dressing. I would strongly recommend you try it. The cafe is clearly cut from the Aussie/NZ style, slotting into the West End somewhere between Papercup and Avenue G, without ever feeling like a watered down rip off. They clearly take pride in the quality of their coffee, so I would recommend dropping in, if only for a takeaway. It is out of the way, but we were recommended by a friend and we now go as often as we can. Spread the word, folks.
