This pub gets five stars, not for looks or an impressive wine list, but for great vibes, music and a very rarely found genuineness.
It is a rockabilly pub, and the room was made up of folk in their 50s to 70s, sporting Teddy haircuts and quiffs, cutting some impressive shapes on the dance floor. They were quick to say hello and ask us to join them in a bogey. The barman remembered our drinks by second round.
The three piece band consisted of two members that were there the first time round, and a lady with peachy cords. She relayed to the crowd of when she used to watch her father play in the same bar many years ago, enviously wanting to play herself, and how honoured she was to have finally had the chance.
No pretentions. I highly recommend. They have a facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pavilion.battersea
From my understanding, their main night for music is Friday for £4, but they do have other events. read more
