During a refurb in 2015, this café totally avoided all the trends of modern eating places. Now it reflects a maritime passion of the owner, and it worth a visit even to look around at the historical items that adorn the the walls.
Fortunately, the visual transformation has, if anything, actually enhanced the heart of the place, and it remains popular with all kinds of regulars who come for good value food and friendly service. The portions are generous and the quality is high considering the prices are very reasonable. It serves English and Polish traditional dishes with a speciality in fish. If, like me, you don't eat fish, don't worry there are plenty of other choices and in quiet times you can ask the owner to rustle up something off-menu.
During busy times, the place is heaving and customers squeeze up or overflow onto the pavement tables.
