This place is a literal dumpster fire...Where to begin?
I have lived here for many years. On the surface, this place looks great. The apartments are spacious and property include two "playgrounds" and a pool. I assume rent if fair compared to those in the area.
However, upon a deeper inspection you will notice that the property is not clean. Dogs are permitted (which is a great bonus) but people do not clean up after their animals. Take a stroll around the complex you will find a wealth of feces, some of which are only steps away from the trashcans and bags that are provided for the residents. Smokers are also abundant and you can find their butts at every entry, right next to the provided cigarette recepticles. If a smoker lives above your apartment, you will surely find their butts on the ground below.
The pool is a lovely feature, but be warned- it has issues every summer. There has been something wrong for years, but instead of a costly repair, they slap a band aid on it and hope it limps along for the summer. It inevitably closes for one reason on the other. Lindy spent all their money on the pool across the street and Westminster gets no love. There was also rumor that they were trying to get zoning to destroy the pool and build another apartment building there. I don't think they got the approval...but who knows? The residents are not informed until the last minute.
Now, lets talk safety and security. If you value your belongings, you do not want to live here. Over the past couple months there have been 2 dumpster fires. The first only destroyed the recycling bin but the second took the bin, the shed that housed it, and significantly destroyed a nearby car. Speaking of cars, several have been stolen over the past year. But, I digress. I forgot to mention there was a small fire in the C building stairway that residents learned about by word of mouth. Where were the alarms?
Mike does an excellent job of selling the place, but here's yet another feature that doesn't live up to the hype. The washers and dryers are awful. We recently upgraded to machines that are supposed to be better. Well, they definitely cost more but I can't say that clean better. The company that provides the machines (Caleco) is terrible. The machines leak, break, and take your money. I have complained to Lindy and directly to the company and nothing happens. I can't tell you how many times I have had to pay twice for a load of laundry. I have never received a reply from the company or a refund for all the money lost. Additionaly, the machines often leak and leave puddles in the laundry room. The
If all this isn't enough to look elsewhere, beware of the crazy electric bills. Many residents experienced crazy bills- some were charged as much as $750 when their average bill is under $200. That is not normal inflation. Lindy has done little to help the situation and blames the increase on a cold winter. No 2 bedroom apartment should have an electric bill that high.
Overall, this place is the pits. Good luck if you give it a try. I hope your experience is better than most. read more
