Such a wonderful experience coming here! For those interested in architecture, design, and/or art…read morethis place is a gem! Reservations are required so make sure you pick a time and day that works for you. Starting in June, admission prices will be $10 or $7 for students and military veterans. There is no parking lot, but street parking is available. I would say to give yourself about a 20-30 minute cushion to find parking and then walk over to the institute. The staff here are very helpful and accommodating. There are security guards on patrol, but they are also very nice and welcoming as long as you don't go over the top with your Instagram pics.

There has got to be something special about the ambiance, landscape, view, and architecture! Let me show you! The place is NOT open to the public unless you have reservations. Parking is free if you can find a spot at the institute. Check in with front and get your access band, and then you are on your merry way to explore and take photos. It is an institute and there are a ton of researchers working - do not disturb the peace as I did. Security be watching folks like a hawk so be mindful and respectful of the rules. I got lost in the architecture and went in the building (curious yet unintentionally) - my bad. And then reescorted back to ground zero. However, at times I felt like I was encapsulated in a scary movie. Quiet, weird building architecture, no people around except a bird here and there. Then It felt so peaceful and you ask yourself "where the heck am I?!" Pictures don't do justice but videos do.

This school is led by Taiwanese and teaches both traditional and pinyin. I especially appreciate the various cultural activities they'll do such as flag ceremony for Taiwanese National Day and rice ball soup for Cultural Day. I like that my daughter is learning to speak and even write some Chinese as well as a little about the culture. The website and school info is a bit confusing for newcomers or non-Chinese readers. Bottom line you pay one lump sum tuition for the school year (typically Sept through May) and an $80 service fee that you can get credited back if you choose to volunteer (there are a variety of ways to do so), as well as a $50 donation that you can earn back if you sell $700 worth of gift cards ($50 is about the equivalent of their "commission" earned through selling that much in gift cards). The $50 is returned to you in the form of a gift card. The gift cards available are for Starbucks, Domino's, 85C, Sprout's, Soup Plantation, See's Candies and many other options. Even if you choose not to volunteer or sell gift cards and "donate" the $130 it's still a great value.

They love going to this Chinese school to learn, to see their teachers and friends, and to play. The school provides many cultural events and activities which make learning Chinese fun. Thank you for the caring teachers and all the parent volunteers for such wonderful experience for my girls.

Even though we rented, but I never had a problem reaching out to the manager. He usually responded quickly and helped to find a solution. Another cool thing is the food truck parties they organize a couple times a year. It really brings neighbors together. For example last year we had a community thanksgiving dinner - they set up tables outside with candles, live music and delicious food!!! One negative thing is that the rental houses can be pretty outdated. I feel like our condo was pretty much in its original condition. But its all depends on the people who own it of course. Overall we loved the private park, pool, proximity to great schools and stores. We made so many friends here and will forever miss this wonderful community! Its one of a kind

But after numerous phone calls, leaving messages, writing letters, etc., the HOA doesn't respond for 17 months because you're asking why the HOA fees were doubled after your sibling died and the only thing on the bill is "ASSESSMENT". But when you try to get the "ASSESSMENT" defined, which BY LAW IS REQUIRED AS NOTED BY MY ATTORNEY, all you get is crickets. Then the HOA turns your account over to collection, even though you've been making payments all along, but not paying in full because you WANT AN EXPLANATION OF WHAT THE FRIGGIN ASSESSMENTS ARE FOR, AS REQUIRED BY LAW!!! Then after sending a check for half of the amount these scumbags are demanding, the collection agency starts to threaten putting a lien on the property. Go right ahead scumbags, you will be met with a lawsuit. How do you think you're going to look in court for harassing a family member of a deceased property owner??? Wait for it....you're now on notice.

It is seriously Escondido's best kept secret for parents/caretakers of toddlers. Children must be potty trained to attend and min age 3. The dedicated staff encourage parents to shadow and volunteer 1x/month which really gets all the families involved. There have been 4 class sessions per school year (m/w or t/th for 3-4 year olds) or (m/w/f or t/th for 4-5 year olds) and each session is about 2-3 hours long which is all my son can really sit through. HIGHLY recommend you being prepared to sign up your child day of registration opens and the school year follows a regular academic calendar. They don't publicize this program enough, so keep an eye on the escondido rec page for registration or call the city rec department. My son has participated in this program + summer program last 2 years and I am so grateful for the affordable and fantastic preschool community. He has developed leaps and bounds socially and academically. Miss Kathy has been teaching here for 24 years and miss Nicole , her classroom assistant is also so patient and awesome with the kids. My son didn't qualify for the income based free city preschool nor did he meet age requirements for preK through EUSD. This was a great resource for parents who fall "in between."
