We were hanging around waiting for Old Navy to open when we noticed a sports shop right next to it. We had not noticed it before. Maybe it opened during the pandemic? A Buccaneers item caught my husband's eye (lifelong fan and yes, he'll be celebrating until the next Super Bowl) so we decided to pop in. - TLC - One man was holding down the shop. He greeted us and asked us if we were looking for anything in particular. The item that caught my husband's eye was the Buccs logo on a wooden board in the shape of the state of Florida. They had a small one but we noticed that there were much bigger boards with other teams so we asked him about it. He said the empty space in the wall was the Buccs one and that he had ordered more and was expecting some the following week. He gave us a postcard sized flyer and said when we came back, to present the card to get 10% off. Well, thank you, Sir! We will be back because the husband has been celebrating since February 7th and has been accumulating all this Buccs stuff. Not sure where he thinks he's going to put all this stuff, but the man is happy! - The Goods - The store is not very big, but they seem to have a little bit of everything. There were other things like tumblers and traveler mugs to team totem poles to car accessories. I think they also have a website with even more stuff. I mentioned to the man about being impressed about actually finding some Buccs items outside of Florida and around these parts and to sum up what they carry, the man said, "We carry the best teams, the worst teams, everyone in between and everyone elses' teams" LOL. When it's hot out, it's not only great to be able to duck into the store to cool off but also to see the various goods they carry. Being operated under the guidance of nonprofit Eastern National, the store is one of the better ones I've come across when visiting National Monuments. It not only has all kinds of tee shirts for souvenirs but also really magnificent replica glassware and other such items. It also has archive photos, books and other items that address the lives, both Confederate and Union, of those who fought at the fort, chronicles relating to the construction of the fort, Nation Park Passport Guide books, history excerpts on General Robert E. Lee and a good number of items and materials related to Coastal Georgia. Compared to the gift and souvenir shops located at other such National Monuments or parks, I'm really a super fan of this one.
