I like to bullet journal, so I'm always on the hunt for pretty notebooks, pens, and stationary goodies. I was in the area, so I stopped in to see what they have. Honestly, it's not much more than a Hallmark with Papryus cards, Kate Spade planners, Vera Bradley bags, and Ani & Alex bracelets. Except for a decent selection of Love Pop cards, I didn't see anything particularly unique or interesting.
But, that isn't why I'm reviewing Papery of Shrewsberry. I'm reviewing it because the customer service was really disappointing. Papery is in an upscale strip mall, and my husband and I weren't necessarily dressed like we have money, so maybe that was the problem. No one greeted us or asked at any point if we needed any help (the store had a handful of customers, but wasn't busy). I'm not sure that the woman who rang up my purchase spoke more than 2 words to me during the entire transaction. She certainly never looked at me. She didn't hand my debit card back to me; she set it on the counter next to her, leaving me to guess when she was done with it. She talked with her coworkers throughout the transaction, discussing QVC's acquisition of Zulilly. She did not say goodbye or wish us a good day.
Honestly, when spending $50 on 4 greeting cards at an absolutely average gift store, I expect friendlier service. I'll never go back and will suggest no one I know does, either. read more
