I could live here. I never knew I would feel so passionately about oils and vinegars until I stepped inside. It is truly a tucked away foodie paradise. I loved sampling products before I made choices as to what I would be taking home. They have options for every flavor profile. They also carry spices and gift items, making for a great one stop shop for a food lover like myself.

Loads and loads of different spices available for sale!

What do you think of when someone says "balsamic vinegar"? For me, it brings up visions of salad dressings, Italian restaurants and little ornate bottles at the local grocery store that run eight bucks a shot and sit in your cupboard/fridge until you figure out just what to do with it besides dumping it on lettuce when you're out of dressing. If you really want to know the potential of this stuff, stop on in here, and you'll learn just what you can do with it. Upon first stepping inside, you'll be presented with what appears to be a number of large metal kegs perched up upon the counters, with empty bottles nearby. Each one of these drums contains a different oil or vinegar for sale. If you'd like a taste, just ask one of the friendly helpful clerks around- they'll help you figure out just what you'd like! But this place is more than just vinegars and oils- once you explore further, you'll find yourself looking at a wall of spice containers that would make an Iron Chef's jaw drop clear to the floor. There are so many different spices for sale here that you should be able to find just about everything you're looking for. I counted no less than four different kinds of actual cinnamon, and at least twelve different kinds of salt. Spices are sold by the ounce, but they're willing to sell less than that- if you only need half an ounce, they'll sell you half an ounce. There are also dips available, and those are really good, too. Also for sale are some useful kitchen gifts- you could even buy a sampler of spices or vinegars to sample and cook with at home. But where this place really shines is at helping you figure out just what you can do with them. At a recent Yelp event, I fell for one taste combination I never would have thought of- strawberry balsamic on vanilla ice cream. This is just one of many suggestions I overheard. If you're looking for good quality spices, a great selection of oil and vinegars, or even a good gift for the foodie in your life, stop on in here and check it out!

I read the Mlive review Wednesday and drove over immediately. Love the store which is a couple of doors from also owner of Chocolate. Kalamazoo needed a speciality/gourmet store to buy olive oils and balsamic vinegars. I have been driving to Holland or Ann Arbor to get Fustini's which I have been using since they opened probably about 10 years. She also has the best gluten free pasta Le Veneziane, it is pricey, but so worth the money. It taste homemade. There are 3 different shapes. The store has a great selection of bulk herbs, spices and salts. I used the black truffle salt in some pasta, and the lime fresco sea salt on a salad, both fabulous. I tried some tangy tamarind dipping sauce. I roasted cauliflower with the himalayan pink salt I purchased and then tossed with the sauce before serving. My husband loved it. WOW! The store has some cookbooks, even gluten free, sauces, cookies/crackers, Lucy's gluten free cookies which are very good. A plus on the vinegars and oils, the glass bottles come in 5 sizes, the smallest is 100ml, which is great because you can sample more varieties and it will always be fresh compared to the larger bottles. I will be back many many times. It is a place to go to put a gift basket/bag for a special friend. The Pantry on Tap is very charming. Anna the person working Wednesday was very pleasant and helpful.

    Can't wait to make these.

Another phenomenal visit at the Pantry. They were sampling a strawberry balsamic-infused water and I loved it, so the incredibly attentive clerk suggested a few other balsamics that would work perfectly to add some zing to your water. I grabbed some dukkah for dipping with bread and oil (and for sprinkling on a bowl of cucumbers), some incredibly aromatic Vietnamese cinnamon, a garlic grinder and a little microwave potato chip maker and some flavored sea salt to accompany it. The palate always goes on a journey here and always winds up somewhere incredible!
