Being a first timer, we had a quick discussion about my preference and problem areas, and off to cutting. Great cut, love the straight razor work, wash and condition post cut with hot towel service, followed by a final dry/style, cut check and neck/shoulder massage. I can't stress enough how amazing the service is, the quality of the cut from a barber who knows his business and listens to his client, and the attention to detail. Today however, I was 10 minutes early as per usual for my appointments. He still had a customer in his chair. After 35 minutes of waiting, he finished his other customer and indicated that he was running late and he'd be right back after going to the coffee shop next door. He was there for 10 more minutes and came back with a plate of some food items. I told him, after waiting for what was now 45 minutes that I needed to be out the door in 20 minutes as I had another appointment. His comment, after my appointment was already 35 minutes past..... "I won't rush your cut". I told him "that doesn't change the fact that I have somewhere else to go and have to be out by 2:15. "I won't rush your cut". I walked out the door. I will not be returning. Nice enough girl... after talking to her for awhile, come to find out that she is not a barber. Didn't say anything... cut was average. Waited to see how it would turn out. Before I knew it she was done.... no straight razor to clean up the back of my neck. Before I came to Idaho I lived in the NYC area and was use to a little more when I got my hair cut (hot towel on your head, straight razor cleaning up your lines, even got a message machine rubbed on my back while the towel was on my head. I know I have to get use to the fact I ain't in NYC anymore but......see I always over tip my haircut guy. What ever the haircut is, I double it and the rest is their tip. I expect more for my money than what I got at this establishment. Maybe things would have been different if I had the owner cutting my hair, but I will continue the search for the right hair cutting place and will stay loyal once I have someone I like.
