I have many wonderful things to say about this place! 1. I…read moretook in an abused, neglected dog and went broke paying for an emergency vet visit - so when she needed yet more veterinary attention not only couldn't I find any veterinarian within an hour of Bangor that was taking new clients and/or wasn't booking out MONTHS. Another emergency vet visit wasn't financially possible, I was devastated and desperate. When someone suggested a place in Cornville, ME I called Meadow Woods and they took the time, effort to find the soonest time they could see my dog. 2. The veterinarian that saw my dog had decades of experience. He made the experience the less frightening, etc as possible for my dog and came up with a treatment plan. 3. I was preparing myself for a large bill while checking out, then couldn't believe the amount I was charged for everything! I paid a fraction of what I'd have paid at any other vet clinic! Oh and they automatically filled the prescriptions the vet put my dog on, had them in labeled pill bottles and ready to go when I checked out! The visit fee, a rabies booster, a steroid injection, RX flea treatment, oral prednisone (steroid), oral antibiotics and a new pet charge...the total was just under $200!!!!!! My dog had been evaluated and treated by an emergency vet and a 'regular' vet, both did the same things which produced pretty limited results. At Meadow Woods the vet quickly stated that he was certain what was wrong and what my dog needed - and a matter of days later my dog wasn't in pain anymore, started healing and everything! Cornville is way out of the way for most Mainers. The drive there and back took us over 3 hours but it was DEFINITELY worth it. I'll be using Meadow Woods from now on.

Rick has been up all night checking in with me on multiple occasions when I was having issues with my pets. He's offered to come to me in the middle of the night in situations when he felt that it would be better not to move my pet and he's always given exemplary service. They are genuinely kind people. I will be very sad when he retires as there aren't many people like him left. I appreciate all of their work and they will go above and beyond to help you when you are in need. I've been taking my pets to Rick for the last 20 years and I've never had a single complaint.

I am super appreciative of High Peaks Pet Sitting and the special care that Brandy gave to my dog…read moreMoki. Moki is 11 now and suffers from arthritis, but still loves to be super active and get out and play. I was away out of town for one long weekend with my boyfriend and we asked Brandy to take Moki for a hilly hike and I couldn't have asked for better care. Brandy was meticulous making sure she had all of Moki's essentials before they left. She put together a little care package with water, snacks, poop bags, leash and of course Moki's favorite ball. Brandy was also very careful about what type of meds Moki might need in case she was sore when she came back and we discussed Moki's favorite way to take her meds too. You could really tell Brandy had lots of prior experience as a Vet Tech the way she was so systematic about it all. However, the special bond Brandy formed with my dog after only meeting her for such a short while before we had to leave and go out of town was really the most impressive thing of all. Brandy really loves animals and she has a special way about her that makes them respond very positively to her too. I couldn't believe how attached Moki was to Brandy when we got back and also how good Moki looked with no limping or soreness even though they had gone for a pretty long hard hike together, as per my request. Brandy said that she had even given Moki a little mini doggy massage on her back legs, which was wonderful. Moki seemed so happy that she had gotten to get out still even though Mom and Dad had to go away for the weekend. Brandy provided exactly the type of service I am looking for in a pet sitter. I wouldn't want to give anything less to our family's fuzzy best friend.

Then, shortly after they hired a very unprofessional receptionist, she was always snooty and gave attitude. Would always fright with people over the phone, and not only me.. but my mother as well. Just recently, we moved out of the area and got a kitten... we chose to keep going to Carrabassett Vet as they are such an amazing vet, however, when she was seen by them for her first shots, on our second visit our kitten bit one of their techs. As I had no clue about this, I get a call from Terri, the practice manager there, claiming that Ember (our kitten) bit one of the technicians and drew blood. As she was telling me this, I asked her why I wasn't informed about this. Apparently "I was" and there were 2 other people in the room with me, and they both said that we were not informed about the incident that happened. Then, Terri had the audacity to say she was going to call the ACO, because it was "precautionary" and have them get in contact with me, all over a small cat bite. You work at a vet, do you not expect to get bit by an animal? The ACO I'm sure will laugh in your face, and once I hear from them I will make sure I inform them that we were unaware of the incident that happened. Unfortunately, Carrabassett Veterinary Services has gone down hill since the fire of their clinic. Unfortunately, I do NOT recommend them to anyone. We will no longer be returning to their clinic.
