I am responding to the review by K.I. regarding THE PALMS, the property manager BEAU, and the comment about my car. The truth is, THE PALMS is a wonderful place to stay or live. The grounds and facilities are always beautifully maintained and we all know it is to the credit of Beau. No one could be more helpful or well liked than Beau. I am shocked that anything negative could be said about him. Finally, a picture of the damage to the bumper of my car was included in the review. This had absolutely nothing to do with Beau. I was very clear with K.I. when she walked past my car and introduced herself as a neighbor who simply wanted to meet more of her neighbors. I explained that a neighbor had accidentally knocked my bumper off when he was backing out of his parking area in His new wider and longer truck. We were very pleased with our stay at the: Palms at Wailea Maui By Outrigger, 3200 Wailea Alanui Drive, Wailea, Maui, Hawaii. We rented this 2 bedroom, 2 bath garden villa condominium, online. It was everything we hoped for. It was a spacious and furnished condo, with a living room, dining area, fully-equipped kitchen, 2 full bath rooms, washer & dryer, and a lanai/patio on two sides with a BBQ and plenty of patio furniture. It was located on a beautifully landscaped area, which you might call a garden view. Ours was on the ground floor (#1901). The pool was lovely and well maintained and had a hot tub. It was very clean and well maintained and had plenty of towels, beach mats, beach towels, and kitchen cabinets full of what you might need to cook and eat. Our condo came with "free parking with a designated parking place" right next to our unit. Our particular unit was air-conditioned, at no extra cost. (Although I understand that not all condos in this complex include air conditioning.) Be sure to note that, in addition to the nightly rate, there are taxes, a cleaning fee, and a resort fee, that are added at the end of your order, before you give the credit card. The complex office was very helpful. They were responsive when I called. I called even before arriving in Hawaii, and they answered my questions about checkin. The beautiful Wailea Beach, with gorgeous adjacent hotels (like Fairmont Kea Lani) , restaurants, and a lovely shopping mall, are literally a few minutes from this condo complex. Wailea Beach has public access. We would definitely rent a condo in this complex again, when I return to Maui! We highly recommend "Palms at Wailea Maui by Outrigger" and their management. read more

We recently stayed at the Palms at Wailea on Maui. We were very impressed with the condo #2203. The condo was updated and spacious. The location was very convenient. The beds were comfortable. There were two large patios and the condo was very clean and well stocked with everything needed to have an enjoyable vacation. There were even beach chairs and umbrellas. I want to first say this place was very nice and has all you need to have a wonderful time. My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. Pool hours were a little weird but that's ok because the beach is close by which is always better. I seen a lot of posts with complaints about ants but that's likely because those people live dirty usually. There were ants but they only showed up if you left food on the ground or counter tops. Eating outside with the view we had was a highlight. I would definitely come back and hope to stay in this unit again. Oh I almost forgot, they had beach chairs and boogie boards in the unit which was a positive addition to the fun we had at the beaches. The last leg of our trip we stayed in a lovely unit here. This was our first time staying on the Wailea side. The unit was nice however I booked again direct through outrigger on the phone they didn't share that the units didn't have ac in the living room where my 15 year old would sleep and they were going through a heat wave. They did bring extra fans and apologized. We enjoyed the pool. Everyone was very nice and helpful! read more

We unit 801 Palms of Wailea for a family trip staying in units 801 a one bedroom and 705 a two bedroom next to each other for the holidays. The unit brought you right into the Hawaii vibe with its surf decor. It was clean and well kept. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessaries and there were beach chairs/ umbrellas. There was a large desk off the living room making it easy to stay up to date with answering email/work related items and the internet ran well. The pool and hot tub (a must in the evening) is located just a short walk away and is very low key. The units lanai was perfect and where we spent most of our mornings and evenings. It is a extra large Lanai with lounge chairs, sitting area and a large outdoor table with a grill. It is close to the beach but really not in walking distance, and it is a beautiful beach with its own parking lot. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and listen to Hawaiis natural beauty or going for a walk to the beach. Can't wait to visit Maui again and have another special trip! read more

I put friends up here who were coming for a visit and although the interior of the units are spacious and unique, that's about the only real plus. It is far from the beach so you wouldn't walk there. You could, but wouldn't. Tiny ocean views, if any...even from the pool. The pool...FREEZING COLD. Not one time did we see anyone IN the pool. Very disappointing. You spend all that money to be on Maui, in Wailea, just to not be able to get in the pool. Everyone we spoke to was extremely disappointed in that. There are many other condo complexes, just as nice, for less money that heat their pool somewhat...to where you can at least use it. Won't be putting up friends here again. read more

The unit (208) we stated at was an outdated unit. Besides having no air-conditioning in the common area and having a half working air-condition unit, the overall unit amenities were outdated and really need a complete refresh. One of the fan in the common area was making a humming noise when turned on, which forced me not to utilize it. Luckily there was a old floor standing fan, which made all the difference in cooling the room. The kitchen appliances looked like it was from the late 80's. The faucet was loose, the cabinet door was not aligned... overall, just outdated. When I completed my check-in, it was right after 5pm. The concierge (right next to the Check-in) didnt even bother to wait for me to complete my reservation before bolting out of there. I would have done the same if I knew about the unit. One night, the water temperature was barely hot, and the next day the water was turned off without any warning. Overall, the mgmt was definitely not up to par. The bright spot on this location is just the location... hence the oasis.. read more

A few years before we moved here, say 5 years now, we purchased a vacation from Costco.com Travel from Seattle to Maui for 18 days. We went with friends and shared a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath luxury condo, washer/dryer, A/C, fully equipped kitchen and fully furnished with everything, even all soaps including laundry soap! The price was just below 4 thousand for each couple. The 4 of us had a blast on the fully opened living area to a large double lanai hooked to the master bedroom that looked down on a grass lawn ravine out to the ocean where we could watch the whales. We rented a condo here through VRBR and it is wonderful. Great price for the week. We stayed in the privately owned side not the Outrigger side. They are two sections of The Palms. So we rented from a couple that own this condo. Newly updated kitchen, air-conditioning in each bedroom and the main level of the condo, so each couple or person can set their room to their liking. Lanais in each bedroom and off of the living room and dining room. Great to sit on and watch the sun set or rise or eat breakfast. Full stocked kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, some spices, etc. laundry room which could use a new dryer hence 4 stars instead of 5. Could use more lighting in the bathrooms but otherwise fantastic. They provide all the linens and towels. The condo is cleaned and sheets changed and beds made when you get here. There are some minor rules to follow. Turn air off when you are not in condo. It cools down super quick so no need to leave it running. Take your shoes off, this is a Hawaiian tradition. When you leave strip beds and throw sheets and towels in the washer and start them. Cleaning crew will place in dryer and have the condo ready for the next group. They also have beach towels, snorkels, fins, masks, coolers and beach chairs so no need to rent or bring these items with you. This is an excellent way to travel. read more

Despite the bad reviews, I want to give this condo location 5 stars. I booked my trip to Hawaii through Costco and their Costco traveler rating was 3.5 stars. When we arrived it was still too early for check in, so u asked the lady behind the desk to recommend a place for us to dine which she did, she also advised that if the room became avail earlier she would call me on my cell. My kids and I decided to drive to the restaurant which was about a mile away and upon seeing how costly the items were we decided to just drive around to look for lunch elsewhere. Not too long after that we were called to advise that our room was ready ready. I LOVED the room!! It was clean and spacious, a big living room, washer & dryer in the closet, a nice kitchen fully equipped with stove, microwave and everything we needed to fix meals. There was a huge patio area with a BBQ grill, in the closet we found beach chairs, and boogie boards, and other floaters to use in the pool. I enjoyed our stay there, we utilized the concierge to book an activity. I recommend anyone going to Maui, to stay here. I will definitely want to stay here again. There is a fee of $125 that we are charged upon check out, which is not bad at all. read more

One of my close friends was getting married in Maui this trip and she booked here as the venue was 7 minutes away from the condos. Upon arrival my husband went to check in and the staff was a bit rude, (she took a call and just walked into another room and left him there for about 10 mins) But the lady at the side concierge desk MK was great she gave us everything we needed and gave us some recommendations on places to eat. We called beforehand about a month in advance to request we get an updated room and air conditioning as well as make sure we were also able to have our two bedroom unit. We were told it is 20 dollars per day extra for air conditioning as it's not fair to all other guests who do not have it. That's fine with us, in June when it is humid and the sun is blazing down-doesn't matter the cost just keep us cool! The room itself was great, although it was not upgraded it still had basic functioning amenities. Washer/dryer, fridge, microwave, oven, every kitchen appliance you could ask for, couch, toilets, showers, beds, tvs-seriously what more do you need? I see the negative reviews and in reality, its Hawaii people. If you're complaining about these small things it's pretty sad. You're in paradise.. The pool was warm, I felt like it was perfect temp.husband said it coulda been colder. Drive to the beach was about 3 mins. Love how our room had boogie boards, sand toys and snorkel gear to use as well as noodles for pool and nice beach chairs. With a big family, a condo is a necessity when staying here and this place is just fine. The only gripe we had was they have parking spots for you and when we came home from the wedding very late with our kids, there was someone parked in our stall and security said they couldn't do anything about it. Well then whats the point of having marked stalls? Having 2 children under the age of 2 and a teen, our family of 5 definitely needs a parking spot as close to our room as we can get with everything to carry. That's the only bad thing. This is our 2nd. time staying the Palms at Wailea. The first was several years ago with just my husband and I enjoying 5 days of vacation. I will summarize my review with pros and cons. We stayed for 10 days with 3 kids, my Husband and I in Condo #1601. Pros: We checked in with a wonderful front desk clerk Jeff! He was very pleasant, and loved to see him at the front desk as we got extra laundry soap, etc. (that will be explained in the cons). Our room, while dated and needing a definite upgrade, with 3 kids under 8 I did not worry about it too much. It was perfectly situated on the beautifully maintained and lush grounds with a peak a boo view of the ocean. A perfect area for the kids to play and run around outside. They truly enjoyed the great pool, pond with frogs at night, and the 3 boogie boards that were left behind in our room from a previous guest. The size of the room was perfect, and had a washer and dryer in the room, which never seemed to stop running. It had a large master, with connected bathroom and 2nd. bedroom with 2 twin beds with window view into a beautiful plant filled atrium. The privacy for that room was lacking, but again with kids, that was not necessary. The 2nd. bathroom had a walk in shower which was nice. Our condo, like most all condos came with its own marked parking spot, though tight, used by rental cars usually. Nice furnishings and beautiful lanai that we spent most of our time. The kitchen was adequate with all the necessary cooking utensils and dish washer. I cooked almost every breakfast, lunch and dinner there and was perfect for saving $ going out to eat for our family of 5. My husband BBQ'd several times, when we ran out of propane, the front desk was generous to bring a new tank the next day. Perfect condo for a family of 5, with smalls kids, trying to save a little money going out all the time. Now on to the cons: The condo was dated to say the least. Appliances, though in working order, had scotch tape holding the microwave door button on. The electric stove top took a little getting used to, as I have gas at home. the propane was filled the next day (so have a backup if your in the middle of cooking), the man came through the front door as I did not hear him knocking and startled me. The lanai was open and no reason for him to come through the condo. I felt very scared for a moment as a man entered our condo. The towel bars in both bathrooms kept falling off, not a life threatening event, but frustrating to keep dealing with. NO HOUSEKEEPING! You will pay a housekeeping fee of $234. (for a 2 bedroom) at checkout. The first time, my husband and I stayed at this facility, daily housekeeping was available. Now if you are only staying for the weekend, or so, housekeeping it not needed. But for 10 days with 3 kids, I was constantly doing laundry with pool/beach towels, bath towels, sheets (for 3+beds), etc. I felt like it was not a vacation for this mom. It was a small stack-able washer and dryer with soap enough for 3 loads and no dryer sheets. Almost laughable to think that would be all we needed for 10 days. The front desk got to know my husband and I asking for extra supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and dishwasher soap) To break down and combine the time, I spent 1-2 full days of vacation doing laundry, vacuuming, dishes, cleaning, etc. Not what I expected for the price, they have to compete with air BnB's and other condo facilities that are closer to the ocean. PLEASE bring back daily housekeeping, (or every 3 days), for moms like me who do not want to waste my vacation with these tasks. Ants were an issue, but Raid ant spray was under kitchen sink. Not that I wanted to spray poison in the kitchen or bathrooms where they were an issue, so we used towels instead. Terminex had just been at the whole facility spraying shortly into our stay, so ants were less, but still there almost every day. Overall, the Palms at Wailea is beautiful and in a great part of southern Maui, close driving distance to a lot of wonderful beaches and shopping. Not right on the water, we walked about 20 minutes to the nearest beach. Would I stay here again? I am going to do my research, now knowing what to expect and what we get for our money, will make my decision from there. read more

We loved our recent stay here. Reasonably priced for the area, and a ten minute walk to a nice beach. We like walking along the beach to some of the other resorts nearby as well. Not super close to restaurants so you would need a car, Uber, or the half hour walk to nearby places. Our room was clean and much bigger than anticipated. We had a beautiful balcony with a grill and a window that opened up to a full sized kitchen. Two bathrooms, the bedroom was nice and the living room good size and comfortable. The pool was heated and very nice, although we only went at night. We would stay here again, I highly recommend! read more

On the first day the ac wasn't turning on so an employee came by to fix it. He couldn't turn it on and left. Then we came back hours later to a hot room and the manager came up to fix it. He turned it on and that night the room was nice and cool. The fridge was awesome and this condi was very large. Perfect for a big family or group of people. Since it was just me and my mom it was huge for us but very nice. The concierge was very lovely and helped us book a luau which we very much enjoyed. If I came back I would definitely invite friends! read more

I really wish I could give this place more stars. It's Hawaii for pete's sake and I adore it here, one of my favourite places on earth and unfortunately The Palms was underwhelming and disappointing. I've heard there are some amazing units in this place but unfortunately this wasn't the case for the unit we stayed in. The carpets were very poorly maintained... and the management company wasn't very helpful. Things were outdated to say the least, but the location was unbelievable, our unit over looked the ocean and we could see the whales from our lanai. I really wish this place was better maintained, I think it's just the owner not caring, which is to bad. read more

The overall experience was good. We has one bedroom villa with ocean view. It has a large living /dining area with a nice kitchen. Nice appliances in kitchen. Dish soap, towels all provided. The bedroom was a very nice size with a comfortable bed. Our unit only had a/c in the bedroom so if you kept the door closed the bedroom was very comfortable for sleeping. However the rest of the villa was unbearably hot. There was fans in the living area but they did not offer much relief. Our Villa was booked by our travel agent but I think you can book villas with ac in both bedroom and living area for an additional fee. The villa was very clean, clean carpets, clean sofa etc. I loved having a washer and dryer and two packets of detergent was also provided. We didn't visit the pool because we were so busy exploring the island. Other than the hot living room the only thing I didn't like was the aloha concierge at the front desk. for example, she was very keen to push local activities such as the luau and deter you away from doing activities out of town such as Lahaina. She also seemed a little disgruntled when we said we wanted to drive ourselves to Haleakala mountain and hike there, she kept on pushing us to take a tour bus there that involved a bike ride down. In addition she said we would miss too much if we drove the road to Hana rather than taking a tour. That being said you don't have to meet with the concierge people at all even though the check in person encourages you to. read more

We rented unit 1701 first and were not happy it as it was right next to the busy road so asked to be transferred to another unit. The next unit, 2102, was not any better. Both units only had air conditioning in the bedroom. The rest of the unit was extremely hot. read more

Beautiful well-maintained condo complex. It seems that some units are through Outrigger Palms at Wailea and some are independently run through rental companies, either way all of the units seem to be really well maintained and staff is super friendly and welcoming. The pool is beautiful and we had a terrific stay here! We would for sure book again through Coldwell Banker - Kathy, and stay here again! Our unit was beautiful and spectacularly maintained and updated, gorgeous! Not in the busy section of town but near enough to everything to be convenient to anything you want. In July my sister and I took our families to stay at the Palms for a once in a lifetime vacation. The staff was accommodating and helpful. They made sure our rooms were close together and MK helped us plan excursions. The horseback riding and kayak trips were awesome. We had 5 rooms between us (2 ocean view and 3 garden view deluxe) and 19 people ( 2 children and the 17 adults). Every room had at least a small view of the ocean, although the 2 ocean view rooms had the best views by far. The units were clean and everything worked. The floor plans were similar but the decor was very different. Some rooms had air in the master bedrooms only, which we knew about in advance. We found the temperature to be a bit hot at times during the day, but we enjoyed the tropical feel of the breeze flowing through our rooms by evening time. The large lanai areas provided space for morning coffee conversations, BBQs, family photo opportunities, and playing games into the night. The pool was just the right temperature and we were able to sit on the lanai and chat with family members at the pool. The beach was a 5 minute walk away, which was perfect for after dinner strolls down to watch the sunset. One room had a pretty good sunset view right outside of the lanai doors. There were plenty of shopping opportunities and decent restaurant options found on Kihei Road, just minutes away by car. We had fun chatting about all of the tasty food spots different couples found while out exploring. Lava Java, Cafe O'Lei, Coconuts and Ululani's Shave Ice were just a few of the favorites. Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar had not only some of the best sushi around, but their Thursday and Friday night local karaoke was very fun! The only downside to our stay at the Palms was having ants in two of the units. We had to keep our food tightly wrapped or in the fridge at all times. The staff provided environmentally friendly spray but it didn't help. I would stay here again. read more

If you are heading to Maui, this is one of the best condo to grab. I have gone to Maui many times and this is the nicest condo I have found. I did not book through Outrigger, but through www.vrbo.com/376482. The Manager is great and she will help you with any questions. None of the other condos look as good inside as 802. You know what I mean by this as you click out of condos that look like they are back in the 70's. read more
