The place is a bit small and out of the way. It was realy rocking tonight around 7:45, but we were able to get immediate seating. The owner worked the room and the counter, with a couple female cooks/servers as well. We had Pad Thai, (because it is my wife's go to dish), Beef with chilli, onion, ginger and veggies, and chicken in chilli sauce with cashews (first item in the main course section and my son looked no farther). His chicken was the best dish, although the Pad Thai was a close second place tie with the beef. My son and I asked for medium heat, and each could have tolerated/enjoyed quite a bit more heat. After sharing around, none of us had room for dessert. The owner was quite friendly even though he was very busy, and explained that "everyone was in tonight because tomorrow I leave for a month holiday." I'd highly recommend The Original Thai, and wished that I lived in Wellington so I could go back. read more
