Raleigh just left (with a ton of donations!) and I am practically jumping for joy. This was so much better than what I expected. I love organizing, etc. but I had reached a point where I hit some brick walls. I knew that getting a fresh perspective from a professional organizer would be the best way to smash these walls and it absolutely was. We got so much more done than I thought and my house looks and feels amazing. Raleigh was kind, professional, and amazing at what she does. I hesitated on hiring an organizer for many of the reasons you might be doing so. "I should be able to do this on my own." "The money - I'm on a budg!" "Is this really gonna make that much of a difference." "Why am I so lazy and can't get it done." All of that. Just stop, it's ok! Accept that it's good to ask for help and call Raleigh. She is so nice, so kind, so nonjudgmental, and so FAST in our session. We whipped through one room and got busy on two closets. These were spaces which I'd doom-piled and been too down / blocked to attack for months. The shock to me was how quickly one can make big progress with the assistance of an experienced organizer who knows how to handle both the practical and emotional challenges. No, we could not get EVERYTHING done in one session, but the spaces were left functional at last, with easy next steps, and I was left hopeful and motivated, which got me through decluttering my entire house over the next several months. If I'd had more cash I would have invested even more in hiring Raleigh. You just have to try it for yourself. Give yourself the blessing of having that emotional support in making the changes and get relief from being overwhelmed. I was downsizing and had so much stuff to go through. An excellent process. My home office was full of boxes of documents and assorted stuff. I hadn't seen the floor for a decade -- I was embarrassed when anyone had to see it. I called the organizing shift and started an easy process of scheduling. Raleigh and I spoke, set up a schedule and respectable fee. Raleigh was on time for each of 5 appointments. I had a number of sessions with Raleigh to de-clutter and organize my small studio apartment and make it more livable. She was punctual and extremely professional and has a great system and quickly identifies where to start and has a sense of how long it will take. She help me to identify the things I no longer need and help me feel OK about getting rid of them. After every session we had multiple bags of things to donate and a couple bags of things to throw away. I didn't know what a professional organizer could do before I had this experience with Raleigh. I am a pretty organized person but, OH MAN! This is not just a "fold and put it all in a pretty way" process. (Although, you get all of that too) Going through my belongings and talking with Raleigh helped me understand myself more and got a clearer idea of my goals and thoughts for my life. Raleigh is an organizing extraordinaire, she is very inspiring, and her passion for organizing is infectious! I took her online class and immediately afterwards started donating so many of my clothes. I thought I would do the rest of my stuff later, but ended up quickly moving onto books, jewelry, gifts, paper items, bathroom stuff, and now am working on my desktop (digital clutter). I even donated clothes I've had since I decided to keep them after reading Marie Kondo's book. I highly recommend the Organizing Shift. I purchased a condo in Beverly Hills and had to have it set up from my home base in La Jolla. Raleigh(owner)put it all together for me with ease. She blew my mind how she placed things, just as I imagined. She was professional and always available to work things out last minute. I had two "problem areas" (to say the least): the Garage, which is beautifully finished and furnished but has been nothing but PILES of boxes and pieces of what used to be my art studio, and my OFFICE, which I have been trying to move from a small room in my house into a better organized space. I knew it would take months or even years if I did it myself at my current pace (I'm 70 and have mobility issues now). So, I hired Raleigh to come in and BLITZ both areas. She brought her very capable assistant, Sarah, along and they did, indeed, blitz the two areas on three different days -- a total of 28 "woman-hours." Now, I can actually USE my art studio again--and find places to sit to watch TV or read! And the office is mostly moved and organized, but I still have to scrub windows and blinds and floors, so no photos yet. My goodness, does it ever feel good to have all that done in the space of a few weeks!! The gals did not try to push me into getting rid of anything I had a real attachment to, but they were successful at getting me to free myself of paperwork and unnecessary accessories that take up so much space because we keep telling ourselves "it will come in handy, . . . someday." I followed her link which requested a written message describing the task I needed organizing and my location. It says that she will respond in 2 hours. I keep checking for a reply and it has now been 24 hours. I wasted my valuable time writing to her and then checking for a reply. I requested organizing for my home office. I also called the number twice and no response. I do not trust this business because they have zero follow through. It is important to honor what you promise. In this case her website requests that you write a brief description of what you need in terms of organizing and she will get back in two hours. I held up my end, she never replied. I find it unbelievable that an organizer is so DISORGANIZED that she cannot follow through. read more

Raleigh helped me pack up my home in the midst of the most difficult time in my life. My dad had just been diagnosed with cancer, so I packed up my home in CA to be with my family in GA. Packing is already an incredibly emotional undertaking. Considering that a family health crisis dictated my move, I was under enormous stress. I only had a week to pack up my two bedroom home and was feeling very overwhelmed. Raleigh came in and not only helped me make MAJOR headway in the first day, but she also eased the anxiety I was experiencing. She is super professional, but also so much fun! I had some hesitation about doing a Marie Kondo type of organization. I knew about the phenomenon, had the book and watched some of the show. It all seemed very emotional, personal and hard. Raleigh's biggest strength is her grounded energy amidst the literal and figurative flurry of things and emotions. We set an intention for our work together and then got into it. It was hard work and confusing to make decisions on what to let go of or what sparked joy in me but she was a gentle guide on reminding me that this wasn't the last time I would have to be in relation to my things, that the process would be easier as I became more clear and made space for the feelings I wanted to have and evoke in my space. I highly recommend her services. She also takes everything away and donates it for you and sends a detailed list on what you decided you would need to replace or purchase in the future.
