Nothing amazing though in reference to other hotels I have stayed at on this trip. Note: the floors here as it is an old building do squeak a lot, while walking across your floor. We were attempting a late checkout as we did not have to be at our event until later. I attempted to negotiate a late checkout only to be told it is their policy that after Noon they will charge you 10GBP per hour after. No negotiating. I understand policy, but with foreign travellers, they should try. The hotel we were at last city, was very accommodating giving us a 3 pm checkout at no charge. And a much nicer hotel at that. It seems some of the staff are a bit uptight and non accommodating.

This is a lovely hotel, so lovely in fact, that when my husband and I got married in Bournemouth…read morethis is where we had our reception and stayed here with all our guests for the weekend. We have returned here many times, and each time we have been impressed by the standard of service and the quality of the facilities. However, the food in the hotel's restaurant has unfortunately been a bit hit and miss. Breakfast here is wonderful with a superb choice of dishes and excellent service (the variety of juices on offer is in itself impressive), but we've been less impressed with dinner on a couple of occasions - the execution doesn't quite live up to the expectation set by reading the menu. Don't let this put you off though - there are generally good deals to be had here for room, breakfast and dinner packages, and lots to do in the surrounding area.

This is a brilliant hotel. Its a funny one mind…read more Premier Inns are always generally good, but this one is just a few metres from the beach. It's great for a long weekend or something longer, and the rooms are spacious and clean. It is a 5 minute walk from Weymouth centre, and the walk couldn't get much better on a summers day. The only problem I have with this hotel, is that in the space of 1 year, the price has gone up steadily from around £50 a night, to £65. The hotel has also been extended twice, but its still sometimes quite difficult to make a reservation here. It seems to be extremely popular. This hotel is highly recommended by me.

It seems to even be a place with mums and tots feel comfortable to come during the day when the rest of the world is at work. I attended a wedding here…read more First when making the booking as per the wedding rate, they confirmed over the telephone, and confirmed different details by e-mail. I had to chase them to get the right details. When booking in, I said I would pay for both rooms. They required a credit card, which was fine, and then asked for another for the other room. I got them to finally understand I was paying for both rooms. I have no problem with hotels employing Eastern European staff, but those on the reception desk must have a good command of the English language. The room was OK, not brilliant, but OK. It is a 3 star after all. The en-suite was quite big, and designed for the disabled. Requested the use of an iron and ironing board, after three requests it finally arrived. The ironing board was stained, and it was only when I was using it to iron my sons new shirt that I realised that the stain was coming through onto the shirt. I was livid. I managed to disguise it as best as I could. Children can only eat in the restaurant before a certain time, and I think it was 5:30 pm, not absolutely sure of the time, but it was difficult for us. So we ate out. The arrangements for the wedding were very good, and the food was fine. Breakfast was something else. Waiting too long, and there was only three tables being used, so not rushed off their feet. One of the waitresses was sullen, and almost dropped the plate in front of you. They were less than attentive. It is not a hotel I'd choose to stay at if visiting Bournemouth again.

There is a sweeping driveway, which makes for great photo opportunities as the students arrive for their ball. The gardens are exquisite and the entrance to the hotel truly romantic. Except it's not the entrance. You have to drive to the back of the hotel on Grove Road. The 'front' of the hotel overlooks the sea. This hotel is very tasteful with out being overly grand. I'd love to stay there sometime.

I would go for the other one again if I would stay in Poole. This hotel is so noisy that I could hardly sleep. Normally I can sleep everywhere. There is a big dual carriage way on one site and an industrial estate on the other site. The rooms are a little bit dated compare to the other hotel. The hotel is wheelchair accessible (but no roll-in shower).

Let me preface by saying this hotel probably was Grand in its hay day but that was many years ago…read more I overall rated the hotel a 4 because the service is a 5 but the hotel rooms are a 3. Let's start with service. Every employees is very friendly and attentive to your needs. I stayed here with my husband in one room, my mother in law in another room and my sister and law and her family in one of the family rooms. Every morning we would go and order our made to order breakfast of bacon, toast, beans, sausage, full English, cheeses and hams, cereal, fruits etc... while at breakfast almost everyday, our room we be made up for the day. Fresh towels if we wanted and re-stocking of tea and biscuits in room. The bar staff were great and the one night we had dinner on site was great as well! The rooms... from what I've read the third floor was remodeled and those are the photos they use for the advertisements. We all had rooms on the second floor. Rooms 207, 208 and 209 to be exact. The furniture and decor is outdated and the bed was rather u comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom in 207 was very old and the shower was almost like a cave and had mold in it. I know it was clean but still is much to be desired. It was very hot for England last week when we were in Swanage and it was nice that the hotel provided fans in each room to get through the night. Room 208 was a family room and had a double bed and a single bead well as a larger updated bathroom. The big positive of this hotel is the views of the beach and town. It's a great location where you can walk down about 80 steps to the beach where there is nice sandy areas to lay out and there are two beach restaurants very close by for food and chair rentals. It only takes about 10 minutes to get into the center of town if walking as well! You cannot beat the location! Other amenities of the hotel include a small but old gym (don't expect top of the line machines here), a small pool and hot tub as well as a sauna on the bottom floor that walks out to the back garden and beach area. Overall even though it needs updated, the hotel was a nice and the service made up for the lack of remodeling.

It's clean and well cared for, and we were made extremely welcome by the lovely owners. There's a regular bus service into/from town about every half hour (or every 15-20 minutes during the day, if I recall right) that stops right opposite the front door. The breakfasts are awesome - you get to choose your menu the night before (from simple continental to ful extra-large cooked English) for an all-inclusive price. I only wish I'd not had such a hangover then I'd have been able to do justice to mine!! I'd definately stay there again.
