Visiting Victoria with two teens, we were looking for a no frills budget restaurant for dinner. This worked out great! Each entree is under $20 (Canadian) and includes salad and dessert. Kids got their fill. Dropping one star as the waitress asked multiple times if my daughter wanted chicken on her fettuccine Alfredo, and was told at least three times she did NOT, however the dish came out with chicken (which I ate) and we were up charged. My daughter is not a "picky vegetarian" but for someone who is opposed to eating meat out of principle - this would have been pretty disrespectful. read more

My family and I had an overnight trip to Victoria. We wanted to find a restaurant with a reasonable price with great portion. My brother decided we go eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory so we went here yesterday for lunch. We ordered the following: 2 pints of beer ($6 each during Happy Hour), Calamari ($10, Happy Hour price), Spicy Meat Sauce Spaghetti ($17.50), Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo ($22.75) and Chicken Penne ($20.95). Calamari was good. All Spaghettis came with salad (or soup), ice cream and coffee. We liked all the dishes just that Spicy Meat Sauce Spaghetti stood out the most. Salad and Minestrone soup were delicious as well. We also had a refill of free bread. We all felt full after our meals. Great portion for the price! read more

They have this chain in the US, but never have I been asked for a reservation at those restaurants! Luckily we got there at a good time as there was a huge crowd on a week day 30 minutes after us. We arrived 30 minutes before closing for a takeout order and were assisted by a lady with the name tag indicating she was a Manager assisted us. She was very helpful, polite and friendly. A short time later, while awaiting our order, we observed the same lady assisting an elderly couple with a completely unrelated issue. And she completed the task with professionalism and the overall attitude of wanting to help her customers. Her actions brought much credit to herself and the OSF company. We took our food back to our hotel room and, needless to say, it was excellent. This demonstrated the professionalism of the Chef and their staff. read more

Reasonably priced Italian comfort food - perfect for a large hungry group on a budget. We stopped by last week and were seated right away in the outdoor area, which was lovely except for six teenagers smoking and vaping a few feet away - all their smoke was blowing in our direction! They brought out a big loaf of bread with butter, and I ordered clam chowder as I wasn't super hungry. The others got full meals with the following main entrées: lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken dippers. We also had drinks, salads and ended our meal with spumoni ice cream. The food was filling and there were few leftovers (always a good sign!). Service was good. Bill came to about $70. Happy to return, but next time we'll sit indoors! read more

I'm not a huge fan of spaghetti. It's not terrible- but just "ok", So when my sisters suggested "The Old Spaghetti Factory" at lunch in Victoria BC, I didn't protest nor did I Jump for joy. But, Hot, French bread melts my heart as quickly as the delicious Harris butter they served with it. Unfortunately, we didn't plan well and requested our orders to be packaged to go. I ordered "chicken alfredo with mushroom and mascarpone cheese ravioli" and just took it back to my hotel room- and all I can say is "WOW". It is one of the best Italian dishes I've had in my entire life. The staff was pleasant and accommodating --and the patio seating was the perfect way to enjoy a gorgeous day with my sisters and dad. First, Spaghetti with browned butter and Myzithra really ought to have browned butter in it. The pasta was dry. I had to request some be brought to our table, and the "Myzithra" was essentially Parmesan. I didn't detect any Myzithra. Note: we make this dish at home on a regular basis. This was a super cute place near the ferry. The only problem was parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our waitress was very kind. What I really enjoyed about this place was that you get an "all included" meal. That means salad or soup (up charge for the clam chowder) the entree and desert all for the listed entree price. We got the spaghetti and meatballs, the fettuccine ravioli, the clam chowder, a Long Island iced tea, and a beer. Everything was delicious. The waitress was good but not friendly per se. The drinks were weak but tasted good. The bread was stale, the spaghetti sauce not very tasty, meatballs not too good, meat tasted old, and my side salad was terrible. The worst cheap packaged salad you can buy. So unimpressed. read more

I was really disappointed with my visit. I found a hair in my salad, and the situation was handled very poorly. The manager did not come by our table to apologize in person -- instead, the only compensation offered was a free dessert. Wow! 8 of us went down to Victoria today and had lunch here. The service was top notch! Unfortunately I neglected to get her name. She was fast, efficient and super friendly. I've been a long time fan of the Old Spaghetti Factory and always keep it as a back up option when I am traveling and can't find anything better to eat. We stopped by here to fill some time on our way out of town, but I am super happy that I did. I mostly eat at OSF in the US, so I was excited to see that the menu here is slightly different. I appreciate that you can still get either tea or coffee here as part of your "it's all included" option, this is no longer included at the local place we frequent. We sat in the bar and experienced excellent service. What prompted me to write this review though is that they offer spaghetti with Impossible meatballs, what a simple, easy way to make people like myself so much happier to eat here. I loved this so much I went home and wrote my local OSF about if they were considering adding it to their menu (sounds like they are not). I will now be sure to stop off at all Canadians OSFs I see to eat this again, I have been thinking about it ever since. My only complaint is that the minestrone soup where I am from is tastier, but having a protein option with your meal completely makes up for that. Thanks so much! read more

Always a great value. This restaurant was so incredibly busy, the staff were well managed and calmly, efficiently ran the show. The restaurant is very big with different levels and areas, but feels like any spaghetti factory with its stained glass and mill work. We're seated within 15 minutes without a reservation. As busy as they were, the staff was attentive and courteous. Food arrived hot and in a timely fashion. Extremely good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to patronize again and again. read more

Food was fine, place was clean and it was a little tight sitting in there but not a big deal. Someone in my party ordered mushroom fettuccine and said it was good until they got to the bottom of the dish There was a patch of dirt/soil... literally I didn't take a picture because we were all shocked and it wasn't like a tiny piece, it was a good amount of dark brown/black soil on the plate. When we told the manager they said okay sorry and then just left. I'm sure they notified the kitchen but that was it. Quality was ok. Nothing remarkable but nothing bad either. That is expected with larger chains, I suppose. Service was a bit slow/inattentive (refills on drinks), especially for a mid-week dinner when the restaurant wasn't too busy. One note for out of towners: the menu has a few differences from the U.S. offerings, so if you plan to go here for certain favorites for your kids, it may not be available. read more

This location was a 5-minute walk from our Victoria hotel. We frequent OSF in Irvine, Duarte, San Jose, and San Diego. We were on Vancouver Is for business having driven 1000 miles to get here from San Diego. Our Familia are Sicilian-Americans from San Jose CA. We know our spaghetti. The menu is not the same as other locations but we ordered a mizithra and a managers special mizithra and clam. The Manager came to our table to UPSELL a clam-Alfredo sauce: $3.95 for the clam butter garlic sauce and $1.00 to make it ALFREDO CREAM SAUCE (basically a white sauce which everyone who's taken a basic high school cooking class learns to make). We agreed on the latter, just to be agreeable. The dish came with a CLEAR clam-butter sauce but no WHITE ALFREDO CREAM sauce (no creamy sauce). The bill included 3.95 for the clam butter sauce and 1.00 for the Alfredo cheese. We asked for the $1.00 to be removed because the cook hadn't done a WHITE SAUCE (didn't care, I mixed the mizithra sauce from the other side in and it was just fine) BUT we didn't want to pay for something we didn't actually get. The manager argued OVER THE 1.00 like her infant child's life depended on it. She INSISTED THAT THE FOOD HAD COME WITH THE WHITE SAUCE. She HAD TO HAVE THE LAST WORD. All Over $1.00. She claimed they were a different type of Italian restaurant. (In other words she had no idea what a white sauce really was). She wasn't going to comp us the 1.00 for not delivering white sauce. We said we'd just take it off the tip. She had a fit and said she wasn't going to make her (relatively inept) waitress suffer. Again this is over $1.00. Finally she had a tantrum, removing the entire charge for the meal. That's not what we were asking for. We told her that was not acceptable either. SHE KEPT ARGUING. Even though we asked her to DROP IT. Finally we added the whole meal charge back in to the electronic payment as well as the resultant appropriate tip based on the original charges. THE MANAGER STAYED AT OUR TABLE AND KEPT ARGUING THE WHOLE TIME. I THEN TOOK OUT AN ADDITIONal $25 USD CASH and placed it on the table TO SHUT HER UP BECAUSE SHE WAS STILL ARGUING. So we paid for the entire meal, appropriate tip, and $25 USD SHUT YOUR F-in face MONEY. PS the sourdough wasn't sour (plain French bread not San Francisco sourdough (they claimed it was sourdough-NOT!) The butter was margarine The spumoni had no cherry ice cream only chocolate and pistachio They charged for a bar drink for water with carbon dioxide in it. This place sucks I dumped my leftovers on the bread platter (they'd removed my plate). Not gonna take this shitty food back to my hotel for later! read more

Restaurant was so clean and efficient and server Peyton was so busy yet she got us and all in her area served so quickly and in order. No one was waiting for long. I come back, again and again for the old, traditional Chicken Club Ciabatta sandwich, the succulent New York steak served with sautéed mushrooms (melting in the mouth), and any of the signature Pastas like Mama Pulosi's (to die for), Lasagna. The red sauce, rich and generously spiced, makes every dish delectable. Not to forget, a ruby-red glass of Chianti :Cin-cin! This place once was a great place to go. Now I would never go back after the service I had here last time for my daughter's 7th birthday. Service took way to long they messed up our orders and some had to be remade and the ones that needed to be remade took an hour by the time the food came out our guests were paying there bill and heading home. We had dinner as a family of four. The restaurant was extremely busy and we waited for over an hour. We were kept well hydrated by the attentive bartender, who was so apologetic that we were waiting so long. The host and hostess were also incredibly gracious. At no time did we feel that no one cared that we were waiting. It was worth the wait as we had a lovely dinner, served by Alex and his trainer. Alex let us know he was a new server and this was his second shift. He did a great job! He had a great personality for good service. Most of the food was delicious. My daughter had the impossible meatballs and they were grossly overcooked. We are optimistic that, as the restaurant response to requests for vegan and vegetarian foods, the chefs learn how to cook such items properly. The lasagna was amazing as always. I don't normally spend time writing reviews, but the experience at this restaurant this weekend is incomprehensible to me. It begins and ends with Talia, the server, and her behavior with a group of 14/15-year-old kids who were in Victoria to march in the Victoria Day parade. My daughter and her group of friends went to have dinner the first night they were there, Talia waited on them. The food was good, the service was good and the kids left the restaurant with a positive experience. The next night they returned to eat there, Talia wasn't there, they enjoyed another meal. The following night they returned and requested to be sat in Talia's area. As they were waiting for her to come to take their order, they overheard her talking about the "weird drumline kids that were in the other night who offered to make her a friendship bracelet and she called out sick the next night to avoid dealing with them" to a different table of kids she was waiting on this particular evening. These "drumline kids" she was referring to were my daughter and her friends who were sitting at the other table listening to her talk badly about them. Now, if she didn't like them because she was nice to them and they were talking to her about being their new "bestie" and offering to make her a friendship bracelet, fine on her for not appreciating kind gestures of strangers....but as an employee of this establishment to stand in a busy restaurant and speak loudly and badly about paying customers who are only 14/15 years old to OTHER customers is appalling to me. My daughter and her friends got up and left the restaurant before ordering. If Talia worked for me, she would be out of a job! Talia, I hope you don't ever have children of your own...and if you do, I hope they never have to interact with the likes of you. read more
