Roast beef & pork combination 5 slices of pork 1 of beef

"When ordering the roast , which was beef and pork , five slices of pork one of beef , the vegetables , for example the cabbage , was very bland , more time making it a roast dinner rather than trying to make it something it's not , just give the roast experience please "

A "country pub within the M25" is a good starting point for the review - it's on the edge of Harefield looking out over the lakes of the Colne Valley Regional Park, and has a good beer garden to take advantage of this aspect during warmer months. Internally, its nicely appointed (having been renovated since the demise of it's former Edwinn's incarnation). The menu is good, the selection of beers interesting, and the main challenge may well be finding a table ;-)

This is totally my new favourite pub. I don't drink so I can't comment on that, but the pub is lovely, with great views and friendly staff. I had a delicious mac & cheese with an arty Waldorf salad. It was generously portioned and reasonably priced. The pub has lovely views and a great atmosphere, with a basset hound named Crunchy to entertain you, a warm fire in the winter, and a barbecue in the summer. It's a bit of a trek when you're on foot like we always are, but it's a journey I'm willing to make!

Really great ploughman's!

Simply put, this is the finest family pub I have ever had the pleasure to visit. It is quite out of the way, but the trip is well worth it. I visited earlier today in mid February, but given the simply stunning view from the pub I look forward enjoying a long summer evening on the terrace with friends at some point later in the year. On this occasion, I had a ploughman's, and it was a royally good ploughmans at that. It came with a smoked cheddar and a strong cheddar, along with a whole apple, a large tomato, some celery, a simply stunning onion chutney, some balsamic pickled onions as well as a selection of bread. Certainly one of the best two I've ever had, and this one is a lot easier to get to for me than the other, so I'm thrilled! But the qualities of this pub doesn't just end there. It's just so pretty; I hope that they rent it out for weddings because it would be a stunning venue. The decor is wonderful, and while we were there they had a wood fire going in the fireplace - and need I talk about that lovely Basset Hound? Relentless beggar for food, so it's a good job he has a "do not feed" sign on his collar! But a lovely dog nonetheless. As we left he had the prime spot lying in front of the fire. If you're anywhere in North West London, you simply must come here.

Steak burger with sweet potato chips

A place with good service, a fat basset named Crunchy and seating outside with good barbeque overviewing the scenic landscape on the canal and the lakes. We went there on a sunny but windy Saturday after a walk along the canal and decided to sit outside for a barbeque. I had a steak burger with sweet potato chips as a side. The burger was delicious but had to be eaten fast as it was pretty windy outside. Beware of the pub's basset Crunchy that walks from one table to another waiting to you to share your food with him, but as Crunchy's collar states: 'please don't feed the dog'. The place is good for kids that love to roll down the little hill in front of the car park. The pub itself is cute and cosy, worth going in on a summer day for a coffee to finish the meal. It's good for large groups but better to make a reservation as the pub gets pretty busy on a weekend. The menu looks attractive, so I would definitely want to come back for a meal!

After a long wander up the canal this pub, with its breathtaking views, is an absolute delight. On a sunny afternoon it's best to make the most of the beer garden, sample the BBQ menu options on offer, sip down a frothy (of which they have a great selection) and take in the views. Atmosphere is friendly and fun and seems to attract many of the locals. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Great food, slow/indecisive service (but polite), pleasant inside interior. We went to this pub on a Sunday for about 14 people. First thoughts were very good, the pub is set in a country style surrounding and the inside is very warm and tastefully decorated. The only down side was the the service was quite slow, we ordered mulled wine which took a long time to come and when it arrived it was served in huge wine glasses and not even filled half way. This was very disappointing. This is where the disappointments end, the set Christmas menu was delicious and the plate was full. I personally had the Turkey and others had the Pheasant (a few mixed feelings about the pheasant). Overall ok pub, beautiful in summer i Imagine will return for one more go. At the end of the meal the waitress guaranteed us 25% off our next visit with a chance of up to 100% off with individual gift cards (x14 sealed in an envelope) only valid after January. Great idea! Please see pictures! :)

I've eaten here a few times and the food is always consistently good. The staff are friendly and the place has a really welcoming atmosphere, for dog lovers there's the resident basset hound who wanders around but is no bother to customers. There's a large seating area outside on the terrace with beautiful views across the lake a must for the warmer summer months! I had Sunday lunch here yesterday and opted for the roast beef as it was described as rare on the menu; I was not disappointed as it came out beautifully pink and very slightly bloody; it was accompanied by a huge homemade yorkshire pud, crispy roast potatoes and a nice selection of vegetables, I'm already looking forward to my next visit!!

Bouillabaisse: chunky pieces of fish and seafood in a warming tomatoey base. Absolutely delicious.

Been coming to the 'Arty' forever it seems and seen it change hands/clientele many times. Luckily…read morefor Croxley patrons and beyond, it's change of hands to the same chain as The Feathers/Bodegas seems to have stuck... alas it's now more of a restaurant. Gone are the heady days of having a pint of snakes b out front on the actual Green. No, now we sit surrounded by hanging baskets of glorious flowers and upon decking, on posh furniture, under huge canvas umbrellas. The drink prices of course reflect these happy changes and it can feel a tad too pricey at times but hey, the location is great on a balmy Summer's day or indoors by the open fires on a gloomy Winter's one. Came here for the beginnings of my 30th celebrations and hired the side section. Great service, lovely vibe for a pre louder bar venue. Not sure the other diners were impressed with my party poppers or cake sparklers but no one complained. A few of my friends grumbled at bar prices and they come from London, so it is expensive! Food prices are reasonable and everything I've had here has been gorg. I tried the kedgeree last week and it was bliss. Perfect. Staff are really nice and genuinely helpful. Also they now do a variety of puds rather than just waffles which left me and friend/family a bit cold. Been for a few roasts and always good. Book though, gets busy. So yea, it's great, prob better for dins or a quiet drink these days...I came here New Years quite a few years back (pre poshness) and had a dance off with a snooker cue as a prop...can't do that anymore! I'm a lot older now and also it's far too classy in here to be playing Britney and have a snooker table. Thankfully.
