The Old Mill at Newton Blossomville is a traditional stone-built village pub that does a good selection of food. We called in one Saturday evening with a reservation, which is just as well as the restaurant was quite busy although I suspect we could have eaten in the bar. Mains range from ham, egg & chips for around £8 to Fillet Steak for £16. Starters are around £4-6: we had tiger prawns with chilli and garlic and Goats cheese with onion and pepper bruschetta which were both good. For the main we ordered Fillet steaks, but unfortunately they had run out so for £13 each we had 10oz rib-eye with home-made chips, flat mushroom, grilled tomato ,fried onions and a side salad with the two sauces on offer: Peppercorn sauce and Madeira sauce for £1.50. The portions were a good size and everything was well cooked and tasty. The wine was good value to oat £12 per bottle for the house reds. Recommended, we'll be going back. read more
