A+ Vibes, Community Feels & Solid Amenities at The Old El Camino Motocourt RV Resort We rolled into The Old El Camino Motocourt RV Resort not knowing exactly what to expect, but it didn't take long to realize we found a gem. From the first warm "hello" at check-in to the ease of our departure, the experience felt like staying with good friends--who just happen to run an RV resort. Management That's Present and Personable What stood out immediately? Access to management. Whether face-to-face or via email, they were available and responsive. Emails with event updates and maintenance schedules kept us in the loop, which we appreciated--especially when planning cookouts or karaoke nights! Better yet, the staff weren't just employees--they were also guests, which made the whole vibe feel more down-to-earth and welcoming. They knew the area well (BBQ lovers: Lockhart is just 20 minutes away), and they were always happy to share tips. Amenities: Thoughtfully Designed and Genuinely Fun The resort checks the boxes and then some. Full hookups, well-maintained restrooms with showers, a large pool and an even larger hot tub (we once fit 12 people with room to spare!), and a killer community space next to the pool that played host to potlucks and karaoke nights. There's a massive double fireplace in that communal space, ideal for gatherings when the temps drop. And behind the building? A bonfire area and smaller fire pits surrounded by comfy seating. Bonus: free firewood during our stay! The gym is small (fits two people max) but clean and efficient with a weight machine, treadmill, and bike. There's also a super-clean laundry room with big washers and dryers that made doing laundry less of a chore. Other nice touches: a covered stage (no live shows during our stay, but it's clearly ready for action), and a dog area that was tidy and respected by both staff and fellow guests. Only things we missed? An ice machine and propane refill station--but both were a short drive away. Grounds & Sites: Clean, Sleek, and Spacious This place is sharp. Roads and sites were freshly paved, level, and easy to navigate. The grounds were neatly mowed and edged, and each RV site was thoughtfully laid out with plenty of room to back in--or pull through if you preferred. Being a newer resort, there's not much shade yet. There are young trees that'll eventually grow up, but for now, bring your own coverage if you're sun-sensitive. One notable gripe (shared by multiple guests): the bright parking-lot-style lights scattered throughout the resort. While we get the need for security, they were way too intense. Our humble suggestion? Dimmers, warmer bulbs, or better yet--low ground lighting. Let guests light their own areas for comfort and better stargazing. Location: Central and Convenient Located right off Texas Highway 21, you're close to everything without feeling crowded. Traffic wasn't bad, though you might hear a few semis braking at the nearby stoplight--nothing major. In 20-25 minutes, you can reach Kyle, Lockhart, or San Marcos, and those drives are easy and scenic. Kyle has all the basics (Walmart, H-E-B, Lowe's, etc.). Lockhart is BBQ heaven, and San Marcos is packed with chill spots and river fun. That spring-fed river runs 72° year-round--perfect for floating or paddleboarding. If you're heading into Austin, budget 45+ minutes depending on I-35 traffic. A Place to Party or Chill--Your Pick The overall vibe of The Old El Camino? A sweet mix of family-friendly and fun-loving. Whether you want to keep it quiet, socialize, or sing your heart out, it works. We made new friends quickly--thanks to the welcoming staff and well-planned community events. As for pricing, it felt more than fair. There's a refundable deposit and electric usage on top, but even with our AC running constantly, the bill wasn't shocking. Final Thoughts: We'll Be Back We felt safe, seen, and satisfied. Cleanliness was top-notch, staff were friendly and invested, and the sense of community was refreshing. Love this place. This is the first time to stayed here and was so pleasantly surprised. The place is very clean. The amenities are all very nice. We bought shirts in the front office, super cute and it was a difficult pick with so many cute shirts and sweaters. We soaked in the hot tub, it was huge and clean. The pool was beautiful wish we were here during the summer, or else I know would have stayed in the pool all day. The hookups all worked perfectly and it's just a 10-12 minute drive into San Marcos. We loved it so much, we stayed another night. We can't wait to come back and stay at this place again. Highly recommend. read more

Clean, well lit & maintained. Loved the gym. The hot tub was very popular & the pool beautiful (yet too chilly to use). Very friendly/accomodating staff. The showers were clean & spacious. There were ongoing problems w/ consistently hot water throughout each shower time (it WAS chilly during our 2 month stay). Likewise, one shower room was out of commission, thus periodically it was difficult to get access when wanted. This is the only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars. We spent a nice weekend getaway here. Definitely glad we did, as this is exactly the type of place we want to find for when we decide to go for full-time #RVLife. Pros: Very nice pool, great for laps and lounging Nice hot tub (though it was too hot to try it out) Bluetooth speaker by pool Nice little gym with weights (dumbbells and machine), bike, and treadmill. There is a nice laundromat, with about ten stackable machines. Our spot (#13) was perfectly level. It looked like all of the other spots were, as well. They have a cute little store in the office (it's only open during office hours, though). They have two bath houses, wth very nice, large showers. We did not get to check them out, but they also have some hotel style cabins. The water pressure was really good. They offer free wifi. It could do with a stronger signal, but was better than most parks we camp at. The driveways are nice and wide, to accommodate larger rigs. The main entrance is super easy to access from Hwy 21 (there is a light, and a nice turn lane). There is another side entrance on Grist Mill Rd. Might be too small for pulling a trailer, but it was great for coming and going in the tow vehicle. There is a food truck by the pool (right now it is only cajun/seafood, though). There is a cafe, that should be open soon. That will be a huge bonus. It was suprisingly quiet, even though we were right off of Hwy 21. Great prices for full-timers Cons: The place was great, and we had to look for cons. It would be nice to have more walkways up to the buildings, so you don't have to walk around the landscaping. It would be nice to have a different foodtruck (we don't eat seafood, so it wasn't somethig we could try out). It would be nice if the store had longer open hours. read more

This is my experience at El Camino Rv park. I highly do not recommend living here. Let me share my story so you can understand why i feel this way. We planned to stay at this Rv park for 3 months well we were building our home, it was a great experience the first month until the manager changed, they then continued to change management weekly as they could clearly not hold onto any employees due to one of their owners being so rude. In the last few weeks it has been the worst experience of my life, the managers are rude there are no employees working, the pool didn't get cleaned for over a month, and the trash sat for over 3 weeks without being picked up. This place is going down hill very fast. I left after I was verbally abused and stalked by one of the investors named Shawn, I had to go get a restraining order against him. He would drive by my Rv spot as my teenage daughters and son would be playing basketball, and drive very slowly just to stare at my children, which made us all very uncomfortable. I left two weeks early due to him almost hitting my 10 year old daughter on 5-15-2023 as she was walking our dog. As we were getting ready to pull out he came out yelling so we had to call Hayes police department to be present.   Also with all the rain it flooded in front of our door. They did not give me back my $150 deposit or pro rated rent, but at this point it doesn't matter i wanted away from this man he is a stalker, and very creepy. Husband and I stayed for 2 weeks in February 2024. Had a great stay. Quiet and relaxing. Great pool and hot tub. Very friendly manager, staff and residents. Great food truck on property. This rv park was great at first lots of promised amenities like a fitness center, a restaurant, a walking trail, which never happened. I have been there a while and was promised a grand opening celebration so all the neighbors can get to know each other. Not once have a gotten to know the management because they change every few weeks. For a while they did not clean the pool or dump the trash bins. I have lots of flies in my rv because of that. Some of the lots get so saturated with water from the rain that you can't even walk to your front door. As of end of may many residents plan to move out because this place is going down hill. I left a few weeks ago and it was the best thing I did. When I did leave the front desk yelled at my on the phone saying I owe money and that my card got declined. I never authorized her to run my card or no I was aware I owed money. If you do plan to live there remember one thing billing is due every 28 days so in the end u pay 13 times a year to live there read more

This place is amazing, the best rv park we've stayed at! The pool and hot tub is awesome; it has lights inside the pool which is a nice touch. The turf laid around the pool is perfect for the kids! The pool is also surrounded by a fence. They also have a nice seating area with little fire places you can uses with friends and family! Plus on the weekend (fri-sun) they have a food truck. The office is cute and they office snacks and drink, I like to stop by in the morning because it better then dealing with the gas station. The grocery store (heb) is only 10 minutes away and the drive isn't bad. **My husband was so happy this was the first place that was level! We just set up and didn't have to do much.** It is pet friendly which is nice! You have multiple area with poop baggies and they are alway full, you also have a doggie bath you can use. The bath houses and restrooms are nice! The laundry room is also nice, you have a choice to use pet free washer and dryers or if you have pets they have separate washer and dryers (Nice touch!) Also the fitness area is nice, you have ac in there and the equipment is well thought out and everything you need, no complaints! I can honestly say any negative review that we saw, I am 100% happy that we moved here and took that chance. They still are adding and building on to the park but that not something that should turn you away, it's worth it! read more

My family and I stayed here 4 months. When we decided on El Camino it was because of all the amenities that were going to be offered. They also said our grass in our spot would be completely laid down the 1st week we were there. 4 months pass and still no grass. The fence was also supposed to be put up within that week we moved in and that didn't happen. Mind you we were paying for a VIP spot. None of the amenities like, dog wash, fitness center, trail or restaurant/coffee bar ever opened. This is a brand new park with brand new washers and they would take your money or not work. You couldn't get a hold of anyone for help if it was past 5. The 4 months we were there they had 3 managers and a substitute from home office. The first manager was as very helpful, thereafter no response and when you did it was a cold response no customer service at all. The park over all is hot, by that I mean there was no relief from the heat other than inside your RV. No trees, no shade just hot. I would recommend for a night but not to stay long term. A night if you don't plan on using any of the amenities besides the pool or bath house I highly recommend the RV (truly a Resort) Resort down the road. People are amazingly friendly from staff to residents. AND they have tons of amenities! That are up and running! read more

This is a new RV park and I understand they had some growing pains earlier as most businesses do. I just stayed 2 1/2 weeks in one of the cabins and my son brought his RV. My stay was excellent, the grounds are kept spotless and maintained very well. Ginger in the office is so nice and accommodating as are the other employees. The pool is beautiful and very well maintained. They had a very nice Labor Day party with excellent bands and barbecue. The partners were there and made sure everyone had a good time. The location is perfect for access to Austin, San Marcos, New Braunfels Etc. I will definitely be back. read more
