The Ol' Packing House in Umatilla is a historic rustic barn with two floors that features a wide range of antiques and collectibles. The first to tip says its "Umatilla's best kept secret" well I'm not that close to the going on's in Umatilla so I'll keep to the subject at hand. The staff here is very friendly - and the woman tending the register is a realist (a person who tends to view or represent things as they really are) - as I was reaching into my pocket to retrieve my mask she remarked masks are optional if you feel you can practice social distancing (yes ma'am I can). Then there's the old man with the walker in the back room marked "old toy room" he's definitely a gentleman, I gave home plenty of leeway as he exited the room as I approached, he yelled in passing he could do better on the prices if I found something I liked (I still regret not buying something from him I think that gesture may have put a smile on his face and a few bucks in his tattered pockets) I commented on his vast collection of Buddy L toys and he yelled back they are from a era when things were built to last, for all I know he might actually be Buddy L himself. I like this shop it's a historic venue filled with things from days gone by - it's refreshing to find a place that isn't filling it's shelves with lots garage sale or thrift store merchandise. I did see some tubberware but I think those pieces should be antiques by now my mother had tubberware parties when I was a young child long before the pamper chef was born. I enjoyed the time I spent here and I did buy a "bushel basket" for 5 bucks, not the we needed it but because it was cool and in like new condition and nostalgic. I don't know this may absolutely be the best kept secret in Umatilla...

My absolute favorite antique store, and I have visited a lot of them. I always walk away feeling like I've made some amazing scores, especially with the prices. Everything from a 1944 solid mahogany headboard and footboard, lamps, pictures, old books...the list goes on, and I never walk away empty-handed! Highly, highly recommended - just set aside a good chunk of time because it will take you a while to look through everything.

This was one of the antique malls/centers my family and I went to one day after the holidays while…read morespending a day in Mount Dora. It's near the restaurant that was converted from an old gas station. There was a good amount of parking for the mall when I went in the late afternoon. This is another location where vendors rent space in the mall and sell their goods under one roof. Any purchases are taken to the front to be rung up and paid for. This one was a bit more organized in the respective stalls and had a good balance of collectibles, home decor, clothing, accessories, and miscellaneous items. I personally saw more retro or modern items in the booths this time versus true antiques or vintage items I feel. Staff were friendly and welcoming to everyone in there.

We came to this store February this year because of an great experience we had over a decade ago…read morewhile exploring Mount Dora. There is a large selection of items; from furniture to jewelry to Disney to stained glass lamps to Beanie Babies! You can spend a lot or a little. It seems like there are endless vendors. We were exploring for at least an hour but you could spend hours in this maze! Lots of breakable items close to one another so I wouldn't recommend bringing younger children. Lovely for adults! The only real negative was that one of the ladies working at the counter was having a very loud conversation about a customer that she was very annoyed with for at least 10 minutes. It was a felt a little uncomfortable because you could hear it throughout the antique mall. That took away from the charm a bit. When checking out though, both of the ladies were super sweet and did a great job wrapping everything up. I'd definitely recommend stopping by, whether you're in the mood to browse and relax from a busy day or actively looking for things to add to a collection. Lots of parking. Go out and try looking for some treasures!
