This place has been REVAMPED AND REOPENED this year, and become immediately popular.
Brunning and Price have bought out the venue, the are the owners of one of my local favourites, the Fox at Chetwynd Aston, and The Woodbridge in Ironbridge- these places are freaking quality, gastro pubs, in pretty venues with generous outdoor seating.
I had never been here before before it closed previously, but I can definitely see why it was a wedding venue. Little neat gardens, a sun trap of terrace seating over a pool filled with koi carp and ducks.
Grab a print out menu, and walk up to the bar to order, waiters will do any running back and forth after this.
I went for a quick lunch with my friends mum to discuss her upcoming nuptials, and it didn't disappoint, we sat in the baking sun, me with a good layer of factor 50 on, and plumped for sandwiches.
It was lovely.
We also decided on puddings, my ginger and rhubarb trifle was absolutely gorgeous.
As with the other nearby places, expect a wicked gin list, good ales, a full, busy bar, but you want to come here to eat as well, it's not really a pub just for drinking, the tables fill up quickly and you will probably want to book ahead to make sure you get in there!
Lovely staff, lovely food, good bar, get down and try it out. read more
