The Sport Expert franchise is more geared towards exercises and fitness. The great thing about this is you often have or need different equipment piece with different interests or intent. By example, you might want really sturdy hiking shoes to go in the woods but a more extravagant neon spandex outfit. (In case you get lost, you know) This place would be ideal for this. However, because of the merge, the specialized stuff is omitted. You will find all of the "best seller" of both chains but, not the whole catalog. I also like the fact that the seller don't have any incentive to make you buy more or to make you bust your budget. We were referred by the Atmosphere of Saint-Sauveur because this store had a brand of shoes that the other didn't had. I do personally prefer the Saint-Sauveur one, because I'm more geared toward camping. But in a pinch I would go here for sure!

Apparently when setting it up, they agreed to limit themselves each to their country (Canada and the US) in order to stay out of competition and to simplify things for the people who make this kind of specialty equipment. Whether true or not, they have certainly stuck to their corners and MEC remains a one stop shop for all kinds of specific outdoor gear at an always fair price. Plus, I love the people who work here. Gear nerds with none of the gear snobbery, totally happy to help you with whatever level you're at. In these Covid times, I took advantage of their website to order some baby outdoor gear (I am that mama, and I'm ok with it.) The website doesn't have everything you can find in store, or a ton of options in any category, but if you spend hours looking at life jackets online like I did, you'll come back here when you realize they have the only one you need.

There is always some good seasonal sale's @ Sail as they have a large assortment of outdoor clothing, fleece, jackets and other goods! Their selection of winter clothing is pretty decent. Brand names are in the mid range on average. They do have some Arcteryx, Canada Goose, North Face and Columbia items to name a few on the higher end. A decent selection of outdoor footwear as well. If getting lost in the woods, or skiing hiking or fishing is your game then you need to get to Sail!

A few days past the 15 day return date and they refused! And they wonder why Amazon get so much business. I prefer to buy locally and from stores, but I will not be shopping here again.

My husband was searching far and wide shoes to accommodate his feet. He went to 4 different stores before and it took a minute to the clerk to fetch a perfect pair of shoes. He even suggested an other stores and other brands that they don't carry. Really easy going, really easy prices too. (Cheap, for outdoor gear standard, which are really expensive in normal terms (you understand what I mean right?!))

Five stars for absolutely first class customer service on a walk-in repair job…read more Short version: Through blatant and admitted poor judgement and misuse (note to self: do NOT cram ten pounds of shit into a five-pound bag), I managed to bust and hideously mutilate the main zipper on my favorite little Arcteryx dayback. Phoned the store, recounted my idiotic tale, asked if the factory did zipper replacements. Was told that if I could bring it in, they'd look at it and tell me if it was feasible. Upon inspecting the bag, the assistant manager insisted on sending it to the mother ship for a new zipper under warranty, even though I repeatedly told him that the rupture was my fault. Factoring in labor, bookkeeping, and the prepaid FedEx they returned it to me with, they lost a lot of money on my dinky hundred-dollar packsack. I own a half-dozen of their bags and garments. The designs aren't always perfect, but I'll keep buying their stuff when it mostly meets my needs, because their after-sales service is bricklike.

I love Nike yes I do…read more This guy was so ecstatic when recently found out last year that a Nike Factory store was opening 20 min from my house. Nike is one of the coolest and strongest brands out there in the world. It ranks up there with Disney, Coca-Cola and Apple. What I appreciate lately of Nike is they are continuing to be an innovative brand and continue to produce comfortable slick footwear and athletic clothing. I will stay a follower for life. The outlet shop here is clean, well organized (for an outlet store) and easy to navigate. Usually other outlets I've been to can look like a bomb has exploded (or an ant hill after you disturb it) as many people are rummaging through their clothes and shoes. They keep this place relatively in order. There are times during the year in which clearance shoes are an additional 25% off. I've found this at Boxing Day, in the fall and other sporadic times. If you can get in one of these times you are lucky. For those who want the best deal on clothes head to the clearance rack. Selection is limited but you can score some good if not great deals. Most of the other clothes are either slightly discounted or near full retail price. Some days good scores are found other days you may walk out empty handed. Overall if you like or love Nike come check this place out! Service has always been cordial and appreciated.
