First my husband and I call Jim (about a month ago) and ask him to stop by our rental property and give us a QUOTE for the repairs we need. A few days later we get an invoice for work that he completed. He completed 2 of the 4 repairs we needed. He charged more than I would have been willing to pay; if he had given me the estimate/quote as we asked, I would have declined. Now of the 4 repairs needing to be done, he completed two of them, the other two he said this of: 1. the dishwasher wasn't working because it was installed incorrectly and 2. The sink was getting clogged because it's a modern design and that's how it works. So we had a sears kenmore expert come by today, he told us the dishwasher is missing 8 parts! The tentant's actually threw away parts to my dishwasher. Basically they were rough with it and over time a roller and different plastic pieces broke off. Some could have been clipped back in. The problems with the dishwasher had nothing to do with installation as far as the expert could tell. As for the "modern" sink, like every other sink, the water was draining just fine until recently. Now the plunger has to be pulled up to release the water into the pipe. I hardly think anyone in their right mind would design or purchase a sink in which you had to put your hand in dirty sink water to pull up the stopper and drain the water. Not only that, but as for the work completed, one of the repairs is falling apart. I contacted Jim today to let him know. His reply, "there is no warranty." Unreal. So much for trying to do right by your customer and have any sense of work pride and dignity.

John has been doing home remodeling for over 33 years and specializes in bathroom remodels to include mold remediation, which unfortunately we had some mold around our shower. His attention to detail and insuring our every need and wish was met with enthusiasm. He was easy to work with, always punctual, kept us updated on every step, was extremely tidy & cleaned up during the process. There were no additional charges added onto our job. We were given a schedule and was thrilled that John and his assistant Matthew completed the job ahead of schedule. John thought of every detail and went above and beyond to see that our needs were met. He extended our shower area by custom building a wall and included a bench seat inside the shower that we could sit on. Personally, I appreciate the fact that I can put my feet up there making it easier to shave my legs. John installed new tile, listel trim, a custom bench seat, 2 niches, shower pan, thicker shower doors, an overhead vent/fan, an additional light fixture above the shower, an overhead rain head, a hand held retractable shower head on a sliding bar, new light fixtures above the mirrors, a new light above the jacuzzi, 2 new side mirror cabinets. Added a retractable hand held shower wand to the jacuzzi tub. They insulated around the jacuzzi tub & exterior walls, because the builder hadn't done this. They installed new jacuzzi & sink facets and a new much quieter ventilation fan in the toilet area. The best part is our new heated floors throughout, along with new floor tile. I'm extremely impressed with the quality of workmanship and the completed job. I'd highly recommend them to anyone wanting a quality bathroom that is completed right. The cold winter and a large number of freeze/thaw days, combined with a poor job on the original installation, caused the mortar to break down and the flagstones to come loose. He noticed that the flagstones had smooth backs, making it hard for the mortar to bond. He recommended replacing the stones, but we decided to just use the old stones and redo all the steps. His quote was very reasonable, and he answered all my questions. His team made quick work of it, cleaning up the old materials in one day, replacing the mortar the next day, and then acid washing the third day. He also scored all the stones, to help the mortar set. This was a great contractor experience, and I would recommend his work anytime.
