My friend and I stopped in before we were heading to Anderson's for a special event. While the unique gifts are in a wide selection and their cards cover a multitude of needs, for me, it all boils down to customer service. Tonight I was reminded that I can overlook a lot of flaws in a business if they have steller customer service and the reverse is true. We had made our way around the store and while I thought we were having a pleasant banter with the woman standing behind the counter the whole time, as we approached the front of the store again she announced that she hated to kick us out, but she had places to go and it was closing time. It was 6:04. (The small sign outside, that we didn't see until leaving said they close at 6pm.) While I can appreciate that what she said was true, it was the tone and the timing that discouraged me. She could have mentioned when we came in what the closing time would be or she could have waited (I would have thought) a few minutes for us to leave on our own. As it was, the very last thing that I saw, after being asked to leave, was the one thing I would have been most interested in buying...but I didn't have time to finishing my looking. If she invited us back or reminded us of when they would be open next, it fell on deaf ears. Instead of leaving with an air of "Oh what a cute store, I will definitely be back...", we left with the feeling of "I'm sorry we troubled you; we won't come again." If you are in the area, with plenty of time before closing, I'm sure you could find a special trinket or gift. I'm always on the look out, cataloging where I might return for just the right thing, and I so wanted this to be a place to top my list.

"Poo-pourri" pockets, and public toilet survival kits. What will they think of next. Lol
