This may be a great place for beers (did not check out the bar) but the restaurant was not very hospitable. the table cloths had food spots and so did much of the silverware. The waitress also appeared completely uninterested in helping the customers. She pushed off most customers to the bar rather than serving them in the restaurant. The food was just awful. There were 4 of us in the party and none of our food was what we expected, from the scampi to the corned beef hash. I would look elsewhere from grub in this town. There seem to be many other options.

They also have a small B&B and a Function Room for private parties or Weddings. The Pub serves Traditional Homecooked Pub Grub & a selection of Daily Specials. It has a well stocked Bar and a good range of Real Ales. The Food is nothing to shout home about (although better than it once was) ... but good value and they do use some local produce like the famous Edwards of Conwy Sausages. Day to Day it is popular with locals and older clientele but in the Summer its packed with Tourists.

The advertising in the windows for cheap meals tempts you in to find out more. The first thing you notice is that the cafe is quite long and narrow and it takes what feels like an age to get to the counter and the greasy spoon style handwritten chalk board menus. The food here is simple. They offer a range of breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, snacks and homely meals for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. There are also option for children as well as adults. The service is friendly and quick when the cafe isn't too busy. When it is packed full of customers you have to wait a bit longer but this is understandable wherever you go. There is ample seating at the cafe at large tables or at the window on a bar stool. They also have a few tables outside for when the weather is nice. As well as eating in the cafe offers take away and they also advertise the option of catering for functions. The food comes in generous portions and is mostly well cooked. If you have an issue with the food, for example an undercooked egg like I did, the staff are very apologetic and rectify it as quickly as possible. The cafe offers good value for money and decent food with no fuss or frills. I definitely recommend it for a life saving hangover fry up

Shame as the beer I got, Tyne Pacifica, was certainly my kind of ale. It was noisy so we sought out a seat away from the music and the quiz machines. Unfortunately it was also away from anyone doing any kind of cleaning. The toilets were pretty ropey too. Then as the icing on the cake some drunken singing yobs that we had seen and heard about town decided to top up here. The last part may not be their fault but the beer was the only redeeming feature of an otherwise disappointing visit. A shame as the look and feel of the bar certainly gave the impression of somewhere that could be a pleasant place to drink
