So we really fancied a gin and tonic before jumping on the train home, and this place is directly opposite the train station.
We did however, even before entering, find ourselves peering along the road looking for a close alternative, and when we didn't spy one. headed in anyway- what fools we are.
It's big, and loud, not freshly decorated (shall we say) and a bit spoonsy. There are a good few TVs for sports of you're into that sort of thing, I'm personally not.
They get kudos for having more than just your standard gins, although didn't have either first choice that were listed on the menu. The don't get kudos however, for curt service, ignoring Thank yous, and no pleasantries- yes, I understand the bar is busy- but I expect it's far more busy with sports on.
To top off the experience, I was violently jabbed by a brat with a bright green plastic sword whilst un-caring parents didn't even look on.- not the pub's fault I know, it just added to the not very inviting atmosphere.
