The place itself is a dreamy wonderland of books and musical instruments, (and an adorable cat-Hi,…read moreSwatch!). However, I was shocked at the unprofessionalism of some of the instructors. One offered to come to my house/town for lessons because I was commuting (I declined) and continued to offer this accommodation that I never asked for. When I was to have surgery, I informed my voice instructor, Bekah, that I wanted to resume lessons as soon as possible thereafter. She encouraged me to take as much time off as needed, but when I needed more time, she abruptly canceled our lessons. Since developing talent thrives in an atmosphere of support and encouragement, it's unsettling that an instructor would, on one hand, tell you you have potential, and then turn around and capriciously drop you as a student without advising you of a cancellation policy. (There was none.). Hopefully they will retain better instructors in the future as music and the arts are so very important.

I want here in the early 1980s and been an active alumni since. While the technology has changed it…read moreand the students, the values taught has not. Hands on learning isn't something that just new, it been the way for over 70 years. Full professors teaching smaller classes that make you work. Add community service hours, jobs that the college will help you find, a student's life will be filled quickly. Most still find time to join the many different social group including the Greek groups where live long bonds are formed. I and many alumni got into top grad schools that Wilmington did everything it could to help. Alumni can come back for employment assistance also. After talking to grads of larger schools and seeing personally how much help they weren't, I am glad I chose here over many bigger named schools.

I have been to Wilmington a few times over the years, my cousin went here, and our most recent trip…read morewas to see my brother-in-law play basketball here. It is a great little school, close to Cinci, not far from Columbus. My cousin studied physical therapy and they have a great program in that. At least back then, the Bengals had their summer training here. It's a nice campus, lots of very interesting buildings and plenty of green spaces. Wilmington itself looks like a good college town, with interesting shops downtown. I would have considered it when I was looking, and it would be on the list for our daughter if her parents' alma maters weren't at the top of the list... A couple of observations on the athletic center. The Fighting Quakers? Funny. Anyway, an nice facility overall. Good layout, plenty of parking and seating. Concessions were good- I think the burgers were fresh off the grill. The sound system at the game was awful- I could not make out what the announcer was saying at all, and even music was murky.

Not a whole lot to wander here. It feels like a memorial to the family of the folks who taught…read morehere. Plaques on the benches. No paths once you get thru the trees but lots of green space. Would recommend coming here if you are j the area for other reasons. We drove 45mins to get here and maybe walked for an hour. My favorite part is seeing the old field where we had marching practice for band back in high school. Band camp in Wilmington college was pretty cool back in the old days...
