From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere and a beautifully designed space that made for the perfect date spot! We started with the Queso Fundido and Nachos con Carne, both of which were recommended to us--and absolutely did not disappoint! For our main course, we shared the Tacos de Asada and the Birria Lunch Special. Not only was the lunch special a great value, but it also came with some of the best beans I've had in a while-officially my new favorite! Everything we tried was rich in flavor, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu. If our first visit is any indication, I know we won't be disappointed!

The most authentic flavor item in my lunch was the refried beans that look like poop at first sight. Rice was bland with cumin flavor and the mole was the most disappointing. Might as well have called them regular enchiladas, the flavor was basic taco mix with a tiny taste of mole. Just a thick cumin or comino paste. Enchiladas should be dripping with sauce in the inside. These were dry tortillas that were barely garnished with sauce on top. The chicken inside was very flavorul but dry. Then the 16 oz lemonade was 4$ and it was super sour ! I never leave reviews. But this was truly disappointing.

So much flavor with all seasonings blending together beautifully. And the meat is phenomenal. Also lunch options they have Kahlúa pork sandwiches literally the best. No it doesn't have sauce but I promise you you try it. You'll know why sauce is not needed. They also have fish tacos. Mahi-mahi is what I tried. It is topped with pineapple mango salsa (delicious), a homemade sauce, shredded cabbage and green onions so delicious and low-calorie if you're trying to stick to your protein diet or get your protein in and I promise you it's worth it. It is made by order so time can be a minute, but the best thing is you can follow them on Facebook at UncleRoys and call ahead your order. Just try it. - peep look at that bacon

I got two crunchy tacos and two pastor tacos. Both were great but the pork street tacos were the best. Service was slow but they were extremely busy so it's understandable. The frozen margarita was a little weak but they have a nice tequila selection so I just dosed it with an extra shot and still came out cheaper than most places. Great place to get dinner.

I know restaurants tend to get busy or sometimes they're loud because of the music they like to play and over here. It's very chill. It's not too loud. This is my second time coming, so I can't really tell you if it gets busy but the times that I come it's roughly around 11 or 12 and it's not packed at all! Our waitress was carvilla she was super nice and repeated our order so ensure it was correct , give us some chips and salsa which came with queso and it was super good !! I ordered the huevos rancheros and my boyfriend ordered the cheese enchilada plate . Since I'm leaving Wednesday, I'll definitely come back and asking for her! What a treat to find in downtown Corpus! After great experiences at El Camino's sister restaurant,…read moreWater Street, we expected good things and were still blown out of the water! Right from the jump, our friendly server brought us complimentary chips with salsa and two sauces. All were delicious and a perfect holdover as we dove into the menu. I am finding that 5 pm is "early" in Corpus and the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but started to pick up by the time we left. For us, we didn't mind at all as service was attentive and speedy due to the emptiness. We ended up kicking off with drinks in the form of a paloma and a desert rose (I never pass up an opportunity for mezcal) and both were perfectly balanced in flavors. To eat, we shared small dishes including the Tex Mex BBQ oysters, tuna tostadas, and side cheese enchiladas. All three were 10/10 in their own way! The oysters (which I usually prefer raw) had such a deep and developed flavor I could have eaten 12 on my own. The tostadas - a fresh and bright bite welcomed in the heat of the summer. The cheese enchiladas? Simple, but executed perfectly! They were reminiscent of a local place I used to frequent when I was a kid, and have ever since compared all enchiladas to. Rarely do I find a good match, but to my surprise El Camino delivered. As with other businesses in the area, expect to find street parking and to take a bit of a stroll (absolutely worth it when you pop into other places along the way and make an event of it). Once you enter the doors, you are transported into a completely different atmosphere where you no longer feel you are in downtown corpus. The decor is fun and bright, yet welcoming and warm and there is plenty to look at! I look forward to returning to try more!

The atmosphere was welcoming, the décor was well done, and they were playing some great early-2000s music that added to the vibe. One thing that caught our attention right away was a sign advertising a new menu item: Chicken Pancit. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. For our meal, my wife ordered the 5 street tacos, and I went with the birria flautas. Both dishes were outstanding and packed with flavor. Our 9-year-old daughter is usually not a fan of Mexican food, so she ordered the chicken pancit, which she was excited to see on the menu since she's enjoyed it at family gatherings before. To finish off the meal, we ordered a half order of the desert nachos, and they absolutely hit the spot. Overall, this was hands down the best restaurant we've eaten at during our trip to Texas so far. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town!
