Pink gin and 7up

Came here for a Saturday night dinner and I was pleasantly surprised! The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was so fast! I ordered the fish and chips which was divine and the sticky toffee was to die for! Will def be returning!

I have been in this pub twice, once was for lunch and the other was for a drink and while everything was okay nothing was spectacular or stood out to me, nothing really enticed me to come back. The drink was just a drink, i was meeting a friend and this was the most convenient location for both of us.in we went, the place in really big inside, much bigger than you expect! so there was no trouble finding a seat, the staff were friendly and the drink was like any other and that is it. dya know this pub was so unexceptional that its going to make my review kinda boring! damn you mill House! the lunch, well they do a kind of a carvery, no catering for vegetarians at all in here! it was all very meat and two veg which never ever really appeals to me, it was like something an old farmer would enjoy (dont ask me why i imagine that!) so after that lunch i decided never to come back for food again, i was quite disappointed! still, its a grand pub, i wouldn't not go into it but i wouldn't bother going in again!

On this glorious Sunday, let me review live rom The Orchard in Stillorgan !…read more This is a great occasion to have dinner with my boyfriend's family and - especially - watch the Kerry vs Dublin gaelic football match. In fairness, I didn't even know it was on ! My boyfriend's mom just dropped a bombshell of a joke : She : Is it the second half of the game? Her husband : Nop it's actually just the beginning of the first half ! 1* For service : The drinks arrived in no time and the food followed shortly after that. Amazing service ! 1* For the quality of the food : We had Fresh Cod Goujons, Spicy Beef Burrito, and Sweet Chilli Chicken wraps. Everyone agreed that their meal was really tasty ! For desert we tried the Chocolate Fudge Cake, the Apple Pie, and icecream. #nomnomtime 1* For the place : This is a family place. People of all age come for a drink or food, watch a match on TV, chill out on a Sunday afternoon. 1* For the seats : All the chairs have a padded seat, so have the benches. Everything is made to make you feel comfortable and want - unconsciously - to stay more ! 1* For the experience : Great people. Great service. Great food. Great seats. Great everything :D Way to go The Orchard ! Let me know if you have any questions or comments and I will get back to you asap. Enjoy Sunday

The exterior has that classic brick-and-wood look you'd expect, hinting at a cozy, timeless space inside. Once you step in, low ceilings, vintage décor, and warm wood tones create a welcoming, traditional pub atmosphere, as football matches play on TV screens overhead, and the fireplace crackles in the corner. It's lively but not overwhelming, with chatter and music that feel proper for drinks and casual dining. At 8:30pm on a Friday night, our party of ten wanted a traditional Irish pub dinner (our first in the country). The pub was about ¾ full, but with some clever table rearrangement from the flexible waitstaff, we were able to be immediately seated. The menu is classic pub fare (fried appetizers and hearty entrees) - food and drinks aren't cheap by American standards, but given the ambiance, it hits the expected value. I ordered their Beef & Guinness Pie (€23.50), which is a hearty beef stew topped with a flaky piece of puff pastry. The dish comes with fries, though they were more than willing to substitute a salad at no additional cost; the salad tasted fresh, although I think it had a bit too much mayonnaise. The stew itself was warming and perfect for a chilly January night, with huge chunks of lean yet tender beef, simmered vegetables, and a savory broth with a hint of that classic Guinness flavor. I wish the puff pastry on top were flakier and less flat, though it was tasty when dipped in the stew. While it's a steep price for a pub entree, it's an incredibly large portion that I could barely finish, with a generous helping of meat. Another delicious dish was their Beer Battered Cod & Chips (€23.50), consisting of an expertly-fried large piece of cod with a perfectly-crispy exterior, chips, salad, and mushy peas. Their chips are thick-cut with a crunchy skin, yet tender, soft interior, and great when paired with their tangy, mayonnaise-based sauce. This is a lovely spot for generously-portioned pub fare in the charming neighborhood of Booterstown, and I'm more than willing to pay a premium for its fun, laid-back atmosphere, fast and friendly service, and tasty dishes; we'll certainly be returning to attend one (or more) of their various themed nights!

We weren't after anything particular on our drive, manly just views and vibes, but we ended up with a few pints, wings and some great local vibes here! We bellied up to the bar, grabbed a few Guinness and placed an order of wings to share. The Guinness was perfection a the wings were solid! Service was friendly and efficient. The bartender was chatty and welcoming! This spot is quintessential Irish pub from entry to exit. The people, the pints, the food and the combination of all three! Overall, such a cool find and great place to visit when in the area!

(Brew Dock, Against the Grain, Alfie Byrne's and The Black Sheep being the others.) I called in here for some food and a drink on a Sunday afternoon and wasn't disappointed, they've a good selection of beer as with their sister pubs and I thought the food was great value. I'd a session beer, Table, at 3.5% it was perfect for the daytime. I had a snack box of chicken two-ways, onion rings and chips with a couple of tasty dips and my parents had fish and chips. My beer cost €4 and snack box €9 which is good value and perhaps a response to the chain that shall not be named who have set up down the road. I'll definitely call out again when I get the chance.

But then again, maybe the fact that it's more like a local pub does add to its charme. It goes over two builidngs so you can sit in the smaller part or a bigger part - as well depending if you want to see a match on the big screen or not. The prices are average niveau and their craft beer is normal price too. But their Saturday offer for 2 mains for 1 on a Saturday (4-9pm) is unbeatable. I tried their beef burger and their snack box (not the same night!). And enjoyed both. But I was definitely pleasently surprised by the snack box for €9. Both for the presentation (see the picture I took) and the size. I was well fed afterwards and I was hungry when I came in.

For those of you not familiar with The Beacon complex, it forms a huge chunk of part of the Sandyford industrial estate. With a private hospital being the main feature and the hotel next door. Having not stayed in the hotel I can't comment on the rooms but if the bar is anything to go by the place is certainly worth a visit. The Crystal bar is chic and modern and were it in central Dublin probably horribly exclusive. Its not however, and the place feels laid back and welcoming. It didn't seem to suffer from 'hotel bar' syndrome and the busy restaurant at the back had as many locals as guests. We parked in the cosy and heated beer garden or 'Courtyard' and ordered off the mainly Thai menu. Duck spring rolls and vegetable soup were served within minutes and were delicious. Although we didn't have any mains I'm pretty sure they'd be up to scratch too. The Crystal Bar despite its plush surroundings is comfortable and relaxing. So come for a pint and then head in next door for a nose job maybe? Heads up to the staff as well who were speedy and all smiles. With the LUAS nearby its well served transport wise.

So it's a nice place to go for a drink after work for example. It's not exactly cheap. A glass of wine is around €9. But you also get some nice nibbles. I was there on a Friday evening and it was very lively. In addition they had a live DJ. Not sure if that's every Friday, every night or just the odd night. It made the place even more lively but also a bit too loud. So if you go there to have a conversation without having to shout that won't work.
