McIntyre is a really great staffing agency. They are very professional, and have a modern, corporate office space in Norwalk. By far the best of the staffing agencies in Fairfield County I have worked with. I am consistently pleased with my recruiter and her associates. I have been placed in 1 temp to perm position through McIntyre and multiple short term temporary assigments in the past two years (since I graduated from college and moved back to CT). First you would call to schedule an interview with McIntyre leaving 1-2 hours available. They administer diagnostic tests in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) which help them place you with a company thats a good fit. They have multiple branches- IT, administrative, and creative services. I am currently working with the administrative team. They always return my calls promptly and listen to my feedback about the offices I am placed at. read more

Many years ago when I was looking to leave a position where I was unhappy, a friend suggested McIntyre. I contacted them and they had me come into the office, interviewed me extensively, and set me up on some good interviews. Although they did not end up finding me a position, I was impressed with their efforts and level of service. Years later, unhappy in my current job, I decided to look up McIntyre again as my previous experience had been so positive. I filled out the contact form on the website, explaining a bit about myself and my needs. I received a roboemail in return, suggesting that I register with them online. I set up an account and uploaded my resume. I received another roboemail acknowledging my registration and also saying someone would be contacting me. A week went by and I heard nothing. I decided to call them and see if they wanted to meet me. I was greeted by an automated phone system that had no options that applied to me. I decided to email them again. First I received the same roboemail suggesting I register. Then finally a real person responded. Her response simply said they had received my resume and would contact me if any openings matched my background. That was it? Their website has all sorts of happy talk about how you are more than just your resume to them and how they really want to get to you. I asked this person who emailed me if she wanted to meet me. I tried to be polite and reasonable asking if I should come in and discuss my goals and background. The response was dead silence. They never contacted me again. So much for me being more than just a resume. The whole experience was very disappointing and nothing like what I had experienced in the past. I would not recommend McIntyre now. read more

At first the recruiter was helpful and responsive and she got me an interview. Before making the appointment, I let her kmow.i had an important engagement and had a hard stop at 12. I told her at least 4 times and she assured me everything would be fine. Meanwhile, the interview seemed to go well, although the HR person was aloof. As the time neared noon, I still had to see 2 more people and take a proficiency test. I let the HR lady know that I was getting close to needing to leave. I was already there for a couple of hours and under the impression that it was a quick meet and greet. Mrs HR blew her stack and called the recruiter. The interviewer proceeded to dismiss me and said, basically, I was out of the running. So later, the recruiter did own up and apologize. In the meantime, I've followed up several times for something, anything, to no avail. No return calls or emails. I am a highly qualified candidate. I really liked this company and wish I could work with them, despite the experience. But no one will call me back. read more

Over 1 year of no correspondence, and when you try and contact the staff about ANYTHING, especially you know... Doing their job, they are VILE! The only person I know to get a job placement from them, had to accept a job that he was over qualified for and for less pay than he wanted because they just don't give a sh*t. WORST staffing agency... Had a recruiter midway through I called to speak with him (brad) and they informed me he was no longer working. I had no previous knowledge of that even though I had been in frequent contact with him. I was assigned to a new recruiter Sonya met with her explained my preferences and interests she said she was going to be in contact and reach out to me on perm positions, but since I was currently in a temp position they didn't really give a damn because they were still safe and getting a check. When my temp position finally ended, that was when I finally got a "friendly" check in call but I already found my own alternative plans. ( as I had been searching on my own for months) Weeks after I ended my last day at temp position I get a call from another recruiter saying that they have a perm job for me in a non related field of mine, even though in their notes it states that I relocated to Hartford and I am working at travelers which is NOT the case at all!! To top it off Brad original recruiter has been messaging me continuously on LinkedIn as if he didn't fall off the face of the earth writing "hello stranger" (as if I The stranger) "how are you my long lost friend" what are you up to these days? McIntyre's chances of ever helping me finding a job are over and I'm very skeptical of all staffing agencies!! read more

Very strong staffing agency with a personal touch. The process includes an extensive interview and resume review. They call with matches where you are a strong candidate. You are also ENCOURAGED to review their extensive job board and reach out with questions or queries on jobs you have an interest in. This appears to be a rather rare if not unique trait for agencies and I've always received constructive feedback about a possible pairings if they disagreed, and if they agreed, my jacket was sent for client review. Consulting and consult-to-perm activities are especially fruitful as I've enjoyed meeting some great prospective employers and completed a permant deal with one that turned out to be rewarding beyond the lucrative pay and benefits. The administrative parts interviewing and preparation, taking assignments and getting paid work well enough. Clients tend to be top notch firms that are willing to spend money to fill a crucial void. Yes, they can get busy at times and be a little slow to return a call or deligate it off to an associate and that's a let down when it happens. However, if there is a perfect fit with an interested client, they're very proactive to keep you in the running and get you an answer even if your candidacy falls through. I can't relate to the "Classic C." experience, but I can share that agencies earning pay equal to the worker's is fairly typical in the industry. Agencies don't get paid to interview or talk to workers, they don't make money in selling their services to potential clients or chasing inteviews or assignments with the employers. So the fees they earn for successful assignments pay the rent and their own payroll, because most of their daily work is an expense, not an income source. I've referred a few people to McIntyre and some felt they got brushed off. But if MG seems engaged and interested in you, equal their enthusiasm and effort and you both should end up with a happy result. read more

Currently employed but looking for a new opportunity. I was contacted by them. Went thru a lengthy discussion on the phone regarding experience and compensation. Said they had nothing in my range. A week later a frantic email about something that just came in and rushed me in during lunch that I never take, made me wait 15 mins, asked me the same questions over again Including comp then sat back and stared at me. What followed was, "wow, that's a lot of money". How unprofessional was that? I knew she thought I was lying and or was trying to break me. I had to chase her for the urgent job she told me about and she immediately tried to talk my comp down followed by an impossible job description. She told me how good she was at sizing up a room. I knew she was lying to as soon as she sat across from me. I knew she was lying about a job. I will never recommend them or work with them. Buyer beware!!! read more

I worked with this agency to find employment (unsuccessfully) until I found permanent employment on my own. In my experience this agency is very unorganized. Everything said in previous posts about a lack of communication is true. After going in for my interview, I had to hound them to get information. I was told that I was being considered for a position, then was told that it was filled only after inquiring. Every time I contacted the agency, I spoke with a different person. I left messages with one person and received a response from someone I'd never met (with no introduction). They don't seem to be very proactive, I would only hear from them after following up incessantly. When I did hear from them, they were very abrupt about getting the information they need. At first I appreciated this because I thought they were being efficient, but it seems after they have the info they take their time getting back to you. Also, people,in the office don't seem to talk to each other. I had one recruiter ask me for information I'd already given to two other people. On top of this, recruiters don't follow up. I know that at times these things take a while, but they need to check in to let people know what is going on. I understand that it can take time to find placements for job seekers, but they need serious help with their communication skills! read more

A recruiter called me with several job options and we scheduled a meeting in their office. This recruiter was not there for the meeting, and they didn't know where he was. I met another recruiter that seemed helpful. I shared the opportunities and financial requirements that I needed. She sent me on an interview that was 10-20K under my requirements. I would have never taken the interview if I knew what the offer was. They call me back a few months later stating that the base salary is now higher along with other bonuses. I am then supposed to hear from a recruiter to prep me for my 2nd interview. There's no call, no confirmation, nothing. It was up to me to figure out who I was meeting. I interview a second time to find out it's still the same low offer. I have now wasted 3 days of my job search. Don't waste your time with them. They will call you over and over again with no jobs, send to low ball opportunities and I'm sure they don't even bother to read your resume. I'm not sure anyone graduated high school in this office. Find a job for yourself. If you know how to use Yelp you're one step ahead of this team. read more
