One of plenty of diners/restaurants on the Hastings seafront where you can get various versions of the national dish, fish and chips (and other things to). It's a brightly lit place with plenty of room to accommodate hungry visitors, and since I had just been turned down by a nearby place for not having made a reservation (half empty, btw), I was happy to pop in here, where you don't need one. Fast, friendly, efficient service, typical diner atmosphere - not unpleasant, but it's not a place to linger after the meal. I chose the grilled salmon, chips and salad, with coleslaw on the side. The salmon was excellent, the chips as usual (bit flabby, which the English seem to prefer), and there was no reason for complaint. Nice, quick, uncomplicated dinner overall. Payments must be made at the till, though there *IS* table service. Would go there again. read more
