I use to do yoga many years ago and now, have restarted again, going for classes twice a week…read moreregularly, for hot yoga and Hatha vinyasa. Before yoga, I could feel my body weakening and becoming lazier by the day. I'm glad that I decided to sign up for classes again and have someone like Pol as my instructor! He's very attentive to all of his students, even if there are many of us in one session. He pushes us to try and go beyond our limits ("through pain and suffering, always smile!" as he says). I also like that the classes are quite intense so not only do you train your flexibility, but you also push your cardio and work the strength of muscles that you didn't know existed. My weaker parts of the body, the core (stomach and back) have improved so much in terms of strength, and my upper body (lungs, arms and shoulders) have also shown very positive changes! After 3 continuous months of practice, I can easily do the head stand and am in the process of getting the hand stand and the crow pose (which are not easy to do, I kid you not). I've also improved on my breathing (expansion of lung capacity) and overall focus technique (through meditation practices with Pol). If ever anyone wants to keep fit and try to challenge their body beyond its limits, I highly HIGHLY recommend yoga, and to be a student under an instructor like Pol would be a gift!

I was very pleased with this yelp #1 top reviewed spot. And it was very close to where I was staying. I was fortunate to be taught by Russell. He studied in Mysore, India and had a very graceful and informative teaching style. Also his Scottish accent added a nice touch to taking class. I heard from other folks there that Pol is also amazing. And the fellow practitioners all seemed very dedicated and at various levels.! The studio had a very nice selection of classes throughout the week. For beginners and even hot yoga enthusiasts. They even have classes designed for pregnant women. Brilliant!

I received a £10 Wahanda voucher in this month's Birchbox and this spa is available to book via…read moreWahanda's website. I had been looking for a sports massage and this place had an appointment the next day. That coupled with their location convenient to the subway had me sold. Upon arrival I was offered a beverage and asked to fill out a short questionnaire - the usual health stuff. Then I was led down to the treatment rooms downstairs. The room was tiny but cozy - really warm (it was another typical horrendous cold, wet and windy day outside). This being my first sports massage, I did not realize that sports massage kind of hurts. Nothing unbearable, but really uncomfortable. This is not the relaxing, take a nap kind of jam. However, sports massage was recommended to me as part of an ongoing issue in my neck and shoulders, so I went with it. The therapist was really knowledgeable and was great about adjusting (read: reducing) the pressure when I squirmed. She gave me a couple of stretches to do and some advice on how to keep myself in better shape between massages. I left feeling better, and even a few days on, I still feel like my neck is less sore and more flexible. I'd like to go back for another session to see how much more improvement is achievable! While I didn't try any of the other services this visit, I did see a full hair salon upstairs as well as a display of nail polishes. They seem to offer a pretty wide range of spa services and treatments, which are listed on their website. They are just steps from the St. Georges Cross subway station (you can hear the subway from the treatment rooms, but with the music on it's not all that distracting.)

Despite being a fan of oriental health care, I find the Chinese Medicine Centre a little too…read moreserious. The outside boasts that it can cure most problems- at least, most of the problems I either have or worry about- and the professionalism of the staff makes this a real different experience from my usual massage at a beauty centre session. The truth is, I don't really understand how it works, and I am slightly suspicious because of that. I am also very bad at keeping up regimes, as they suggest, and only made a single visit. I would say that the attention given to me was positive and they are obviously competent, but this is only really a good resource for people who are already au fait with the various Chinese systems and have confidence in them.

While hunting out places to purchase my extremely active and gardening made granny a 'real, proper…read moremassage' (as she calls it), I came across this place. They offer an extensive range of treatments to cure, or aid, almost anything. This includes: headaches; neck pain' sciatica; leg pain; joint stiffness; flexibility; fatigue; tension; shoulder pain; back ache; response times (what?! why?) and strength. Now, when a pretty clueless me went chapping I was warmly invited in by the staff. They then gave me tons of information and could suggest particular treatments with a whole host of slight variations to suit granny's requested needs. Despite, these needs being very vague, the staff put on a great show with their impressive knowledge. The prices did seem fairly outputting. However, it is worth keeping in mind that these treatments are on the more specialist side of things. So certainly, a decent place to go with although I opted for elsewhere.

If i'm waiting for my train then I'll usually nip in here and more often than not I'll find something I like. I do find this partiular branch a little off-putting though as they always have huge bouncers on the door. Obviously if there's trouble in Central Station the first place the hooligans will head for is The Body Shop. Maybe to wash their mouths out with the soap, who knows? My favourite range is the White Musk range which smells amazing and you can get gift sets too which is the perfect present for any girl. Years ago The Body Shop used to stock the most amazing banana smelling shampoo which was fantastic, sadly they discontinued it, why do places always discontinue good things? They also used to sell camomile shampoo which naturally enhanced your hair colour and also smelled delicious, guess what, discontinued. Oh and another really exciting Body Shop item is the Magic Flannel, when you get it it's just in the shape of a fish or frog or something but when you put it in water it expands and becomes a flannel, magic! (I had to mention this as I love the word flannel, it's such a great word, don't you think?)

Meanwhile, the staff are friendly, helpful and give you plenty of space to have a proper look around.
