Wow this was a really cool place!…read more I brought my 2 year old and 10 month old and they had a blast. First things first was the pricing, when I looked online it said it was $10 for adults if they wanted to join the fun, and free to watch. And $6 for two and under. However, when I went to go pay it was only $12 for the three of us. So I don't really understand what I paid for, but was happy with the result. There is a crawling baby section, 3 and under section, and then of course the huge playground. The crawling baby section was honestly quite disappointing. Of course, babies of that age don't need much, but the area was so full of blocks that no one can even walk in it, let alone letting a baby crawl in it. The 3 and under section was more than appropriate for me little guy though, so I put him in there. There large playground is awesome. This was the first time I let me two year old truly go and adventure on his own. I was a little nervous and kept checking up on him, but don't think he has ever had so much fun in his whole life. What was really nice is that much of the playground is built in such a way that as an adult, I didn't have much trouble navigating it when going up myself. Aside from the crawling baby section though, the other reason I only give 4 stars is that I wish there were only exits from the playground on the same side. You can actually get up to it from all directions and there are two exit doors towards the back of the playground. They appear to be alarmed, but honestly, there really isn't anything stopping someone from standing in the back, waiting for a kid, and running. I know this is a worst case scenario and likely never happened, but the possibility did make me a little uncomfortable. That said, I highly recommend taking your kids here. The price is well worth it and they will have the time of their lives

We're from California and don't have places like this available really, so being able to go is a lot of fun when we visit other states. Dan was very helpful--helped us stage the wedding--even though we were a little late.(getting hair done!) The food was beautifully staged and delicious. I recieved so many comments on how beautiful the venue was, food was great, etc. etc. The servers and organizers were helpful and friendly. When I plan another wedding or event. I will do it at the Wight house and be relieved that when I get there, everything is ready to go and I just get to get dressed and enjoy the evening. Thanks to Dan and all the staff for a wonderful experience. Linda

I barely give this place one star. The only reason I do is because it was close for my family and…read morefriends and it was easily accessed. The location is pretty but the staff and owner are of poor quality. I had my wedding ceremony here and I had it booked over a month in advance. When I went to look at the reception center I was planning to have the ceremony on the roof top but if the weather was poor then i was told it would be on the main floor since it has wood floors and is decorated more for a ceremony. The second floor is pretty but it is typically used for luncheons and receptions. So I spoke to Anissa who is in charge of all of the things that goes on in the reception center. When I spoke to her she said yes if it is bad weather you will be on the main floor since i give preference to the brides rather than luncheons. Then she stated that it would only be $150 for the ceremony to take place there. So i agreed thinking it was a good deal. She wrote me a receipt but no contract or anything. If you go here make them put stuff down in writing otherwise they will come back at you and change things. So the day before my wedding it was snowing like crazy and i knew it would be inside. I got a phone call from Anissas assistant Jessica. She contacted me and said that the main floor where my ceremony was to be was in a mess and the floor was partly ripped up. I was upset but understood and said that was fine. So the day of my wedding I get there and see that the main floor was booked with a luncheon. So I looked in the door and it looked fine to me, the floor was in great shape and it was all set up for a luncheon. So I went up the stairs to the second floor and half of the room for my ceremony was set up for a ceremony and the other half for a luncheon. I asked Jessica why I was on the second floor since I noticed there was a luncheon on the main floor. She looked dumbfounded and said oh it was my misunderstanding. I said interesting I thought you said that the floor was torn up and that is why i am on the second floor. This girl was not the best at lying. I think that this company/owner/employees should tell the truth instead of lying or at least try harder because people are not stupid and shouldn't be treated like they treated my family and I. So I went to the brides room and Anissa Jessicas boss came in and said it is my fault we booked too many events and since your colors are the same as the luncheon that comes after your ceremony we put you in the same room. Then she came at me and said what was the amount we set on? $400. I said no you said $150. While in the room myself and my sister were very annoyed and upset that they had lied to us. She asked me if i wanted a diet coke and if my sister wanted a diet coke to calm us down. Very insulting and not a good way to handle things. So she left and came back and said ok i talked to the owner and you can have it for $150 and i want you to know you are getting a very good deal. She stated over and over how awesome of a deal I got. I thought bi i would have gone somewhere else if i knew you were going to put me on a different floor than i wanted, try to change the price, and treat me and my family like we were not paying customers since we only paid $150 and not $400. I say a paying customer is a paying customer no matter how much they spend. So we had the ceremony, it started at 11 and by 11:30 they were started to push the guests out so that the luncheon party could come in. They rushed my photographer and rushed my family. I got only a few pictures and while pictures were taken they were pushing tables out for the luncheon and talking about how upset we were in front of other guests. The other party shouldn't have been able to come in while we were still barely finishing the ceremony. My sister spoke to the owner and stated that I didn't pay the full amount and that they always book lots of things back to back. My sister said if she had paid the $400 would it have been any different and he said no. This place is horrible the staff is rude, lies and needs to find a different occupation. After I was told that i was getting a good deal by Anissa she said please don't put a bad review for us. I thought lady don't tell me what to do. It was my wedding day and it was wonderful and i loved it but if I could go back I would take my business elsewhere. That place was too stressful and come on who likes to be lied to. I am sure people have had good experiences here but I am not one of them.

The reason for the review is that friends of mine received a communication from Castle Park informing them that they are still obligated to pay for the space in May 2020 even though we are in a worldwide pandemic. There is still no change in their stance 3 weeks later. I have included the letter to my friends. Read it and feel the outrage. Where is the good faith and humanity for this business? There were no other options offered. The date is cemented for them and payment for no services is expected. The circumstances are completely out of the clients' control. This is bad business. When we left, the parking lot was overflowing and cars circling around trying to find a parking space. Still, with the influx of larger crowds to parking lot capacity, it didn't feel crowded inside. This is a wonderful place to visit. A wonderful place to bring family and friends..There are animals and species that I've never seen anywhere else, and I've been to the Tucson Sonoran Desert Museum, the San Diego Safari Park, Sea World, Scripps Oceanography, and various zoos. This was a treat. And almost all were active and were seen. Such variety. There is no wasted space in this museum. Walls are adorned, such as a long wall with the ascending walkway going to the penguin exhibit made to look like a South Pole research center. Even every access door for employees are adorned. See my photos. Nice vegetation areas in otherwise unused space. They put a nice climbing gym in what would have been an unused corner, great for parents who need a break and kids to dissipate energy. There are thoughtful benches placed here and there for a sit down rest. There is a very nice small cafe and snack bar to get a yummy huge pretzel, or hamburger and other sandwiches and salads. Looking at the prices, they are very reasonable for a museum/theme park. You are getting a great value for the buck. Whether you are buying for just the day or a membership, I think that you are getting your money's worth. We spent four hours there and didn't see everything, read everything, tried everything. The four hours went by fast. This is a very popular place for good reason--a jewel in the valley. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
