The maintenance team has been working day and night cleaning the property so residents can get out, but stay safe on the slippery lots and walkways. We highly recommend living here.

I mean, everything has gone up, and they haven't avoided that, but the increases have been reasonable, and less than some of my friends got bumped in other apartments. They've also done a bunch of upgrades while I was there (I was in an older unit) and the upgraded ones are even nicer. I've never had a real problem with any of my neighbors - everyone is friendly. I had a noise complaint a few times after one moved in in the summer, but management handled it really well, we've never had a problem since, and it caused no animosity. I'd still be there if we didn't have to move. Highly recommend Ridgewood if you're looking in the West Chester area.

I've lived in other local apartments where I could hear my neighbors talk at normal volume. I hardly ever heard my neighbors. During our tour, the property manager, Morgan, clearly explained that the only upfront costs would be the application fee and a $300 fee upon approval. We specifically double-checked that we planned to move in May and asked if there would be any additional or hidden charges. We were assured that there would be no other fees besides the application fee and the $300 if approved. Based on that information, I went home and completed the application. I was approved almost immediately, and both the $300 fee and the $150 application fee were deducted from my account. However, shortly afterward, I received an email stating that I would now need to pay a full month's rent as a security deposit due to a "conditional fee." No proper explanation was provided. This was extremely surprising, especially since my credit score is excellent and my income is more than five times the base rent. This additional requirement was never disclosed during the tour, despite us directly asking about any extra charges. Feeling misled, I requested a refund as I no longer wished to proceed under these new terms. I was then informed that the application fee would not be refunded. I feel like my money was unfairly taken after being given incomplete information. I strongly advise future applicants to be very careful.

You'll find a spot in the complex, but you will be walking for a few minutes. Picture attached of the packed lot. There's a new woman (new to me, at least) working in the leasing office who told me that the holes in ceiling (that were aggressively leaking but this review only allows photos) was not an emergency because it was leaking at the minute that I called. Nothing about the way she spoke to me showed that she cares in the slightest. Not sure where Kim went, but bring her back!! The trash bins get extremely full, and the only suggestion they have is to take it to another trash bin (gotta love roaming the complex to take out the trash!). Not to mention, there are always random men going through the trash. There was even a man sitting behind one of the trash bins. Unsure if they're homeless, but I wont risk taking my trash out at night and I'm especially cautious of shredding my documents. This year has a new issue to add to the list. We now have a waterbug infestation that continues to get worse. I've had 2 in my apartment this week (see photo for the size), and 4 total in the last month. There are always waterbugs at the entrance to the building. I just got home from work, and counted 8 by the entrance. They are so large that I can see them from my window. There are washer and dryers downstairs. 2 each, but you can guarantee 1 or 2 of the machines don't work (or don't work correctly!). In addition to only being able to fill your laundry card ($1.50 each wash/dry) outside of the leasing office (& in cash only), expect to see a minimum of 2 waterbugs crawling around. The laundry room windows are floor level to the building entrance with no window screens. There's always someone who leaves them open and the waterbugs come right on in! Lovely. The fitness center has never been updated in my 7 years, but I guess it's fine. It gets the job done. Rent increases every year (I believe by 4% but don't quote me). The rent increases, while the quality of living decreases. 7 years of never missing rent or ever paying late, and this place is going to lose a valuable tenant because the rent does not match the value. I can then go on about the quality of the other tenants. There was a fight in the parking lot 2 days ago. Oh or the time where there was a line of some type of swat trucks (see photo) and a countless number of uniformed men announcing they have a warrant for someone's arrest and for them to exit the building with his hands up. The 2 stars are strictly for convenience in the location, and the spaciousness of the apartments. The pool is cool, but they'll charge you $5 per person not on the lease. I'll stop here (although I can certainly carry on).

My mother and I have never seen any in our 6 years of living here but out of no where bunches of them are coming into our home, not to mention when i called maintenance about the problem I don't think they took me seriously. I have also had this problem ever since I moved here when my toilet gets super clogged every two months and I had to learn how to unclog it myself because the maintenance people obviously weren't doing a good job.

None of the apts have central a/c or the ability to control the room temperature (heat is base board and is either on or off, no temperature settings.) I was without heat for 4 days in March of this year when temperatures dipped into the teens, so I did not pay rent for 4 days, and management still insists I owe it to them (the PA state law says I don't.) They were supposed to do a massive heating system overhaul in March 2020 but instead bought another property. Every and any bit of work they do is done as cheaply as possible. Our front doors stick because they painted right over the old paint without scraping or sanding. Contractors typically show up in unmarked white vans, and I once called the police because there was a young boy in the hallways ripping out old, dirty carpet from the stairwells without any protective clothing or filtered mask. The massive pot hole in the back parking lot was filled only with sand. The management decided to contract with Comcast, so you have no choice but to use Comcast for internet. My bill went from $40 to $60 to $100 in 2 years, and you have no leverage because they know it's the only service you can get. Walls are thin, you can hear everything in the hallways and your neighbors going to the bathroom and flushing the toilet. My bedroom window doesn't close all the way because it wasn't installed properly, the fan in the bathroom vents into the ceiling (black mold growing around it,) and they even turned down the water pressure after the start or Covid to keep the water bill down! They don't hire a lifeguard for the pool, and we don't know who does the chlorine checks, so few people swim it out of health concerns. Management is greedy, rude, and there have been at least 4 different assistant property managers since I moved in. You can rent a nicer place for less money in Media. The only redeeming quality is Shaun the maintenance guy, but once he's gone, you'll be out of luck. Go elsewhere for nearly $1,700/mo.
