At Norwood House, I feel like my money has been well spent. The apartment is a great size - our friends in Kennett Square are super jealous - and the price is very reasonable. Whenever we've had to call for maintenance which has been very few, an employee comes out the same day and fixes the issue. The pool is a nice escape and the neighbors are all very respectful and quiet. You really feel like you have privacy which is rare for an apartment. A great first place for young couples starting their life together.

From the leasing agent to the managers, they are very respectful, professional, and act quickly to follow up on concerns. The amenities are great and its a perfect location. Easy to walk to stores, restaurants, and even to Downingtown boro. Close to major roads for easy commuting to work. They are located in a great school district. They host fun events monthly. I love the quiet hours! There's no perfect place to live, but this comes pretty close.

When reaching out to the front office, the management denied problems, made promises and never followed through. After calling about a dog who barked constantly from 12 am until 4:30 am every night for a week, management essentially told me I was imagining it and the barking was "from somewhere else." After another 8 days of this, I went on a quest and found that the barking was not only coming from my building, but the apartment immediately above mine. After 14 days of interrupted sleep, while paying $2400 a month in rent, I called the police (non emergency line) as the dog was clearly in distress. I could hear from the hallway outside of the apartment that the dog was panting and agitated. When the police arrived, they knocked on the dour and I could hear voices from my apartment (it was 1:36 on night/morning 14 )Z The tenants were living in this apartment with a distressed dig for 2 weeks???? Did they have a head set On? Did they just not care? Interestingly, the dog now only barks during the day when alone. Tenants are also very disrespectful of common spaces. On the weekends, tenants clog the one and only trash chute constantly in building 3. They overflow the common trash bins and leave trash is the elevators and common areas. It is also a very common occurrence to see trash is the parking lot , including beds and sofas. When asking management to send an email to all tenants to address the on going issues, I was told they would, yet thus never happened. Just today, I found used coffee cups shoved between the handrail and wall in the elevator and trash on a common countertop in the foyer if building 3. I move out Friday with another 2.5 weeks remaining on the lease. It's too bad because the place has potential

The Manor is an excellent apartment complex. I have been here over two years with zero issues…read more The property is well maintained and clean. I've only had the maintenance people in my apartment a couple times and both times they were very professional and took great care with my dogs not to let them out. The staff in the office are always pleasant and ready to help out. I feel very safe and have no hesitation to recommend the Manor.

I only wish I had held the reviews to a higher regard before considering moving in. Everything…read morementioned in the reviews is completely accurate. The garbage overflows so badly that we have vultures, people are constantly parking in spots that are not actual parking spaces and there are other things that the leasing office refuses to acknowledge or correct. The tenants here clearly do not respect the leasing office because every attempt (albeit minute attempt) to fix anything, goes completely awry. If you are looking at moving here, keep looking the price is not at ALL worth what you get.

So let me get this straight - you get me to move into your FILTHY apartment that I clean for a month to make it livable, and YOU KEEP MY SECURITY DEPOSIT NOW THAT'S IT'S CLEAN? THERE IS NO WAY THAT IS ACCEPTABLE OR FAIR. This is your solution to keeping your residents happy? Try again. A "Lease Termination Fee" of $1685 is semantics for you keeping my security deposit. You can call it whatever you like, but that's exactly what it is. I paid $1500 to move into this hole. How do you suggest I get that back so I can move again? This was a classic bait and switch.

My boyfriend has lived in this complex for a couple of years now and doesn't really have that much…read moreexperience in apartments. However, I have been jumping apartments for 7 years, so let me tell you: this place is ridiculous. It doesn't have the kind of issues that city apartments do: no rodents or roaches -- but the realty company makes up for it. First of all, the buildings are very old and look it, yet they charge like it's brand new. The air conditioning blows: it blows freezing air for about 5 minutes, so much that I have to get a blanket. When it clicks off, the rooms immediately revert to being humid and hot. This means that I am often up in the middle of the night sweating or shivering. Of course, this is actually an improvement -- the AC wasn't even working last year. They finally fixed it after telling us several times they already had. The staff is terribly rude. Every question we have had has been dismissed without a shred of customer service. They decided to replace sliding glass doors (we assume to qualify for some energy-reducing stimulus money) and started the construction in December (last time I heard them was at the end of May...come on, it really does not take that long). They posted no indication that the construction workers would need access to individual apartments and then retroactively posted a sign (after they attempted to enter the apartment I was in! The only reason I was awake at all was because of all the noise they were making!) They started jackhammering at 8am and spent their 2-hour-long lunch break screaming to each other both outside and inside the buildings. When my boyfriend confronted the property management, he was told that it was our fault for not observing a sign (that was retroactively posted). My boyfriend had to take a half day off work so we could rearrange the furniture so they could access the doors. They offered no apologies for this. They claim no responsibility for issues regarding the apartment. The apartment upstairs flooded our bathroom -- they let it ruin the ceiling before doing anything (well, I assume they did something -- they never came to repair this apartment). The laundry machines are notoriously bad and overpriced, but instead of taking responsibility for their upkeep, they told us we needed to call someone else and complain. At the end of the day, Caln East is the worst. I don't know that there are many choices in this area and if the choices that do exist are any better, but I sincerely hope someone reads this and fires the office manager. And for anyone looking to live here....keep looking.

At least the block where I stay is good. They are prompt in snow cleaning and salting the stairs. Swimming pool opens in summer and users need to pay extra money for that. Be aware that the property do not have natural gas facility and so, cooking,heating,A/C and Hot water use electricity. There are no hidden charges and they maintain trash bins away from common area but reachable. This apartment also has a laundry per 6 units and they are not that busy. They have ample parking and other tenets are not that noisy or nuisance to the neighbors. This is a cool place to live on budget and with decency. One day my water heater broke down and they replaced in like 2 hours. On working days maintenance supervisor is available on premise or there is a 1800 number. I used 1800 number and was pleasantly surprised to see the response on a weekend. The other day, my wife used vacuum and room heater from same outlet and tripped the fuse. As she was unable to figure out the fuse box, called office number and they knocked door with-in 2 minutes. I would recommend this place to my friends.

The "maintenance man" is not available during the week, and I get blown off on the weekend. My suggestion to the management is to get the issues serviced if you want to charge $1200.00 a month in rent. The ad said the monthly water and gas charge is around $80.00, but it is usually around $140.00. I can not believe I am being treated so poorly .If you are thinking of moving in, I would think twice.
