Most candles burn hot, but in Scotland they burn cold, even the wick is freezing cold, and this…read moreteam is named after those kinds of wicks (known as a Brrrr Wick). First-Hand Experience: I saw them play live for the first time just recently in 2014, and it was a great experience. A tiny little small town team in a lovely area, the only team that is from England, but plays in Scotland. Seeing them live was a real treat, and I'd give them a 5 if they could pack their stadium full. Formed in 1881, they're a historic and adorable seaside club that's not too far north of Newcastle and Sunderland, and not far East of Edinburghghhgghg. Colin Cameron (David's brother) is their manager, so we should hate them, but we don't, especially since they play in sexy yellow and black. They've never really accomplished anything but I still love them and the old town they're from.

The 'mighty Gers' are forever knocking on the door of being recognised as an actual football team…read more Eternally destined to ply their trade in the lower reaches of the Scottish leagues, they hold their collective heads high. Surprising then, that nobody has yet taken aim with a sniper rifle, to vent decades of frustration on an unsuspecting midfielder or centre half. Being well aware they are the only English team to play in the Scottish league, they have not yet identified that results often go better for them at away games, when they remember to take the team translator with them into Scotland. Whenever a 'big team' is drawn in a cup game, the Berwick Active Service Unit (BASU) hooligan squad appear from the shadows of the towns dark alleys, to proudly wear England tops and sing passionately about 'sweet Molly Malone' pushing her wheel barrow 'from the Grove to the Harrow'. However, if Molly looks anything like her older Brother, local ice cream magnate Allan Malone, I would challenge anyone who referred to her as 'sweet'.

We go to Pot-a-Doodle-Do every year. It's a great rainy-day activity, keeping the kids occupied…read morewhen you can't really do something outdoors. Plus, a few days later (once your pot has been glazed), you have your own little piece of artwork to take home! The charges at Pot-a-Doodle-Do are very reasonable, covering your pottery itself as well as all the paints and tools you need. Unlike some pottery painting places I've been too, Pot-a-Doodle-Do only charges you for the object you want to paint there is NO studio fee! Needless to say, we have a lot of personalised plates and cups now

Then when you have managed that for about 10 mins they take you over fields on a set route as there was only me and my partner doing it with the instructor leading the way he did a extra long route so we got an extra 20 mins which was great. There is some beautiful sites or the surrounding countryside and coast. There is also a creative room where you can paint ready made cups, plates etc, they have all designs to choose from. I chose a 3D winnie the pooh cup which was £12 and then spent about 4hrs painting it is a way i wanted, then you leave it and they glaze it for you to collect a few days later. There is also a small shop on site and field if you wish to take a tent to do a spot of camping, altenatively you could camp in one of there wooden wigwams which look great.

This used to be a beach so it's full of shells, which is why they call it Shellfield…read more First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I love the town of Berwick and have been here 4 or 5 times. It's right on the drive from Edinburgh to Newcastle. This is the only stadium in England that is home to a team that plays in the Scottish league. It's a nice little windswept stadium near the coast. I was here for the first time in 2001, and saw a game here for the first time in 2014. I absolutely loved it. I will put a couple of pictures up from here once I get my scanner working. The big factory next to it, you don't notice during the game, but I deleted a star for it. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are based on first-hand personal experience, usually from multiple visits. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to most of them yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at many of them, which I will post later. Also, when back in Scotland I plan to take more pix, and add more stadia! So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** Seriously though, it's got a big factory right next to it! So much bigger than the stadium! It's one of the worst stadiums you'll ever see, but that sort of gives it its charm. It's near the ocean so it's absolutely freezing. It's the only Scottish League stadium that's actually located in England. In 1967, Berwick somehow beat Rangers here, 1-0. The club's supporters own the stadium which is adorable. For that reason I have to bump it up to 3 stars even though it's a tiny awful stadium next to a factory.
