I was meeting my friend in Keene later on in the day and needed time to kill. I live in Manchester and all the salons I went to were booked solid. My cousin's girlfriend (who goes to Keene State College) recommended the salon because it was close to downtown so I booked a partial highlight and a haircut. The ambiance is really cute. In addition to being clean, it has a lot of characters with vintage hand mirrors on the wall and shadow boxes with antique hair styling products which I thought was a nice touch. I got there 15 minutes early and Amanda took me in right away. Typically I'm awkward about small talk in the salon chair but before I knew it Amanda and I were talking about everything from Deflategate to boys. I felt like I was meeting an old friend. She did a great job with my highlights. I like to get the partial to help break up my roots and she gave me a super low-maintenance cute cut. She really went above the extra mile and offered to curl my hair for me sincr I was meeing my friend. My whole service cost $105 which was a pretty good deal (I'm used to NY salon prices). If I didn't live over an hour away, this is where I would get my hair done. I highly recommend this salon whether you're a local or just a student at Keene State. I have been having my upper lip and eyebrows waxed for 12 years. My past appointments were around ten minutes every 6 weeks. I made an appointment to have them done and arrived on time and there were three workers and one client. My visit left me unimpressed. It was a super rushed eyebrow and upper lip wax job that left my skin on fire and me feeling like a novice. I sat in the hair washing chair that was too short for my torso. This put my neck at a strange angle and my butt off the chair. Not very relaxing, especially for a wax. As it was my first time at this spa, I made sure to state that less is more when waxing my brows and to do only a thin strip between by brows and touch up above. Do not do gel polish here (at least if you aware how it actually suppose to looks like). You can do better job at home with your nails. They will not cut cuticles because they afraid of infection they may cause. So polish will look like you had it for months. Also I was offered to pick color by locking at top of nail polish and was advised that all of colors are matching the actual color. I told the master that is not truth and I can see it, but she told me that is going to match. So guess what it did not. read more

DON'T go here for NAILS. This salon was rated higher than others in the area, but that must be just for the hair, (or they are fake reviews). Called the day prior to make an appointment, asked if they could do dip powder and tips as well as a pedicure, they said yes and I scheduled my appointment. The pedicure was OKAY, although she scrubbed my feet so hard they felt like they were going to bleed. She proceeds to the manicure, and asks if I'm sure I want them longer, (they were nubs), I said yes, I said I wanted tips on the phone, and she proceeds. NO DRIMMEL, no proper tools, I should have known something was up. It took her 3 hours, not kidding, and she only used a regular nail file to buff and do the steps in between adding dip. She finished with what she thought was a clear powder, it was white. So the dip she spent 3 hours on were ruined. She covers them with a similar color of shellac, and that was that. 2 nails broke off that day, and all of my toes chipped. I returned the next day and she asks me "oh what did you do?" I told her I was putting on clothes and they popped off... she took an hour to fix 2 nails, which looked awful, as did the rest (uneven, unfinished, not even color). She did not offer to fix my toes when I told her they had chipped as well. I asked for a cup of water while I was there, she brought out a sip literally in a paper cup from the back.. within minutes I felt ill, and barely made it home before throwing up, not saying she poisoned me buttttt..... extremely weird as I had felt 100% fine prior. Also woke up with a nasty blister on my finger that oozed puss (sorry for the detail but like wtf!) and now have a matching blister on my big toe next to my nail.... THIS LADY (Madeline) is NOT a nail technician, asked her myself and she said she is not a nail tech, hence why she can't use a drimmel. Yet she charges the same price as any licensed person, WTF! My wife went here for highlights and cut. And they ruined her hair, left highlights on to long, and fried her hair. Will not go back.

Overall good experience, fairly priced. Auna trimmed my hair and did an amazing job, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave me EXACTLY what I asked for and I will definitely be going back. Only negative I feel is the selection of products, only Paul Mitchell and Redken, and at times it felt a little rushed. read more

Don't get your nails done here. The staff was nice and friendly but the girl just didn't know how to do nails. Also one of the employees was painting her toenails while I was in there.... I got a dip manicure and it looks like I did them myself. It's messy and they aren't shaped well. She left a ton of powder around my nails. read more

Pretty nice place on main street. I went in to get a waxing service done and the woman who did the waxing was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. She seemed a bit in a rush but still did a good job. read more

My daughter and I enjoyed an afternoon at the salon. Both of us received pedicures and they were excellent. Great conversation and awesome service. Nikki and Madeline did wonderful. :) I will for sure make another appointment for the next time I visit my daughter at Keene State. read more

I love this salon. It's clean and the stylists are friendly and helpful. It's one thing to get a good haircut when you have good hair. But, when your hair is fine, thin or problematic in some way...that's when you need a good stylist. My stylist is Kim - she's the best! read more
