As a magician from Hawaiʻi, I was incredibly excited to experience The Magic Saloon--and it exceeded every expectation. The magic begins the moment you step off the elevator. Before you even reach the theater, you're immersed in an atmosphere filled with mystery, surprises, and things to discover around every corner. There is so much to see and experience. As you walk in, you're greeted by a bartender who is juggling, a world-class magician performing close-up magic, and demonstrations of incredible effects available in the magic shop. One of my favorite parts was the interactive scavenger hunt. It's part riddle, part puzzle, and part adventure that takes you throughout the venue--including a peek "backstage." It adds another layer of fun and wonder to the entire experience. The bartender deserves special recognition as well. He doesn't just serve drinks--he performs. Many of the menu items come with their own entertaining presentation or routine. And if I may make one recommendation: order the cotton candy. Trust me. You'll want your phone ready to record. The main show was fantastic. The opening act set the tone perfectly, and then Dana Daniels took the stage and absolutely delivered. I've seen Dana perform before, and he always brings the thunder. His combination of quick wit, comedy, audience interaction, and amazing magic had me laughing throughout the entire show while constantly wondering, "How did he do that?" What makes The Magic Saloon special is that it's not simply a magic show--it's a complete magical experience. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you're surrounded by mystery, laughter, and wonder. Whether you're a lifelong magic fan or have never seen a live magic show before, I highly recommend adding The Magic Saloon to your list. Had a magical experience here thanks to the excellent staff and mind blowing show. From Fermin greetings us and explaining the process, to Oscar Munoz' upclose magic and Oscar with a Moustache's mocktail making experience, we were blown away well before the show actually started. The magician we got to see was Nick Paul and he was great. Everyone did a fantastic job making the experience immersive and interactive. The building is also decorated super cool. Our show was at 2 30. We got there 30 minutes before the scheduled show to make time for parking at the mall lot, walking to meeting point, etc by 2 30. But another 30 minutes was allowed for the fun activities before the show, started at 3 on the hour and ended just a few minutes after 4. Real good on timing. We wanted to do something with our grandson for his birthday and my wife saw this place. I'll admit my expectations weren't high. When we arrived they checked us in and gave us a sheet for a scavenger hunt, which was actually fun. Before the show began, there were some quick magic tricks being performed at the magic store, which were good. The 'bar' was truly an experience. We got mocktails and the making of them was an experience in itself - truly entertaining and tasty. The magic show was actually really good. The opening magic act was funny and good. The headliner, Nick Paul was very good. Also funny and very good. A perfect place for the evening. My wife, my 13-year old and I laughed and were amazed - total experience from beginning to end! My friends surprised me with a birthday experience at The Magic Saloon, and honestly, I'm still trying to figure out how they pulled it off without a single spoiler. The magic started before we even walked in -- a magician greeted us outside the front door, cracked jokes, and did tricks that had us laughing. Inside, we got our seat cards and a clipboard for the Secrets & Mysteries Tour, which made us feel like we were about to solve a crime, join a secret society, or at least win a prize. Pre Show Shenanigans We kicked things off with magician Oscar, who performed a few tricks. Then we dove into the Secrets & Mysteries Tour -- Billy's Parlor, Backstage, the Playing Card Lobby, and Bubbles & Cotton Candy. We didn't finish everything, but that just means we have an excuse to come back. Like we needed one. Our VIP package came with a drink of our choice and a keychain. The bar has a whole lineup of fun and colorful drinks. Also, there is complimentary bottomless popcorn for everyone. The Main Event The show itself was an hour of pure entertainment. Oscar opened the show with his talented magic skills and humor, and then the headliner, Scott Pepper, took over. Scott has performed on all four Disney Cruise Line ships and founded the Magician's Agency Theater here in San Antonio -- so yes, he knows what he's doing. His show had everything: big illusions, visual magic, audience participation, jokes, and enough "how did he DO that" moments to keep us buzzing long after the show ended. It's truly fun for all ages -- kids (ages 6 & older), adults, and the adults who act like kids. The whole place runs like a well‑oiled, whimsical machine, and every staff member we met added to the charm. After the Curtain After the show, we got to meet the magicians, browse the shop, get autographs, and take photos. They were warm, friendly, and more than happy to answer all our "No really... how did you DO that" questions. We live in San Antonio, and we'll absolutely be bringing family and friends back to The Magic Saloon. It was memorable, hilarious, and just plain fun. When you arrive wait outside the door on the sidewalk if the door is locked and someone will walk you into the tiny lobby and check you in. They do it in small groups. The event is upstairs. There's a small bar with non alcoholic drinks, a salty popcorn stand you serve yourself and a booth where a magician does tricks and sell souvenirs. There's the area next to and behind the stage with little magic tricks things to look at. Seats are assigned. Eventually you're asked to sit down and the show begins. We had 2 magicians. They're funny and pretty neat tricks. Afterwards you can take pics with magician. It's located across from Alamo in the shopping ctr. Next to wax museum. read more

This place was so much fun. Its predecessor was The Magician's Agency. But that got sold and this is the new establishment. Same place and many of the same faces. But new owner. Yelpers (including myself) kept reviewing under the previous name because the new place wasn't up. But Yelp has taken action to close the board for the previous name. This hidden gem is Independently owned with thoughtful customer experience. Arrive early to complete a scavenger hunt challenge. The magic show was both entertaining, funny, and left us wondering how. Oscar is a staple of the venue and great magician. Shared a bit of his craft with my son and I after the show. Fantastic Show!! I made reservations based on all the great reviews (google), but didn't really know what to expect. Wow, what a high quality show! Think "Vegas" quality magic show but in a small venue, which makes the experience that much more personal. We got to see the owner & founder, magician Scott Pepper, and he was truly great. My 12 & 13 yr olds definitely enjoyed the show as well as my 73 yr old mom so it's truly an event for the whole family. All the staff were also wonderful. They explained that they rotate the magicians so you can keep coming back for a different show every time. I will certainly be back. Highly recommended hidden gem in downtown SA. read more
