Left my mom, friend, and I bewildered! We thought we were smart enough to pick apart tricks, but no. What Andrew does is beyond impossible. We are shook!!! Also the studio is SO cute, the whole place/set-up is such a vibe. 100% recommend if you want your mind BLOWN! Note - Emmy's Spaghetti Shack is a cute place right next door to grab dinner before or after shows. read more

We rented out Magic Patio for a private Saturday birthday celebration and we had a blast! Andrew is an amazing magician and showman! We were talking about the magic tricks with our friends for weeks after! Venue seats about 60-people and the place is super cute with theater style seating and BYOB. Aside from the party, we've been to the show a few times and even watched the zoom shows during the pandemic. Truly a unique night out and located in a great part of the Mission with tons of restaurant options. read more

This show is so unbelievably awesome!! The magician kept the crowd in splits and in awe - he was really great and including the audience and some of his tricks were unreal! Super super cool! Should be on your radar for a fun date night, or night out with friends! :) It is BYOB - which we forgot to do, so just a reminder! read more

We hosted a joint birthday party at The Magic Patio and couldn't have been happier. Andrew is an amazing magician, but also host. He is very easy to communicate with, and makes the event special by personalizing to your needs and group. Oliver was an excellent bartender and tech! The show itself is amazing! We are so lucky to have The Magic Patio in our neighborhood! read more

The Magic Patio show was very impressive. I would say it's even better than The Illusionist: - It's shorter than I expected. It's more like 60 minutes. But it's very action-packed and fast-paced. - Half the fun is Andrew's showmanship, which is very San Francisco. - All the tricks were great; there were no duds. One of the tricks, with a "magic cocktail shaker", stunned everyone. - There is a lot of audience participation; with a small audience, about half the crowd participated. Similar to The Illusionist, The crowd really bonded over the communal engagement. - It's BYOB, and they provide glasses. A lot of people brought wine and beer, and it was awesome. - There is a pinball machine set to free play in back; check that out before the show. read more

I dare you to NOT have a great time at the Magic Patio. The show is fun and in an intimate little theater. Andrew is very entertaining as well as being a top notch magician. Great for any type of celebration outing or just a great night out. read more

Super fun magic show. A lot of audience interaction in a small intimate theater set up. Entertaining, fun, and a great idea for date night. Would highly recommend for a fun night out in San Francisco. Bring your own drinks! read more

Andrew is absolutely amazing. I was trying to find a venue to host a celebration for my partner's birthday and Andrew was so accommodating and helpful. He was super patient and willing to hop on a call to discuss my vision, as well as provide suggestions on how to make it even better. He also invited me out to watch a show prior to booking with him! When I met him in person, I was captivated by the acts and how approachable Andrew was. He's so friendly and just easy to talk to. He also puts on a great show. I was entertained the whole time and there wasn't a dull moment. His theater is cozy, but thoughtfully decorated. I also like how the front part is a candy shop and there's a "hidden" door leading to the actual performance area. The venue is also BYOB. We started planning the surprise party many, many months in advance and Andrew was great at communicating and keeping me in the loop. He even helped coordinate the guests and got them into position while I was leading the guest of honor to the venue. In addition, Andrew offered to help oversee the catering orders, but I ended up deciding to handle that on my own (with the help of a couple friends). The big day finally came and went and my partner was delighted by all the tricks. Andrew graciously gifted us bags of candy and also supplied some additional snacks (chips and peanut m&ms). The ONLY thing I missed compared to the initial performance was the secret cocktail trick (which I think my group would have absolutely died over). If you're thinking about checking out a magic show, don't sleep on The Magic Patio. You'll be in for quite the treat! read more

I've gone to the Magic Patio shows from before the pandemic to just this month. I no longer live in San Francisco, but I try to catch a show whenever I'm back. Andrew is a wonderful magician. He's a great entertainer in general. There were funny moments and heartfelt moments, and his shows always have a nice narrative flow. The actual magic stuff is great too. The decor of the theater has a lot of love in it. He and his crew have built most of it. There's a lot of custom carpentry. Bathrooms: Clean, well-decorated, but there's only one, so come early if you want to use it before the show starts. read more

Amazing experience! We had a really good time and the fact it's a small room (about 40 ppl max maybe?), made things even more interesting! The magician was genuinely nice and seemed to truly love his job. It's BYOB and they also sell some snacks. read more

Great show, small venue, intimate Setting, mind blowing act. This word of mouth gem of a show entertained a generation of family members, with many who return time and time again. 10/10! Andrew is an amazing entertainer and incredible magician. The Magic Patio is a cute little place and you can tell how much love and care Andrew has poured into this show. What a little gem in the Mission. read more

Looking for something fun to do with friends? Look no further than the delightful Magic Patio! Get ready to laugh and scratch your head during the hour-long magic/comedy one-man show. The host and magician, Andrew, manages to include pretty much every audience member in the show and just has such a warm and welcoming vibe that you feel like you are at a friend's house. The magic is fun and kept us talking after the show trying to figure out how the tricks were done, but it is really the charm of the host and the intimate feel of the venue that are stars of the show. read more

Everything about this place was magical, from the not-so-secret location on Mission Street to the amazing showmanship of Andrew Evans, with the quirky and inviting decor and lighting in the venue adding a nice touch. It was everything I expected and more. Some of the illusions were typical acts commonly performed by magicians, like cutting the rope, teleportation, and mentalism tricks involving the crowd. But I was blown away by the mysterious act pouring different drinks out of a milk carton. And I'm easily entertained regardless, so even the old tricks never really get old, especially when the magician is a talented performer who knows how to engage the audience, adding a bit of comedy too. The Magic Patio is perfect for date night, the warm ambience in this intimate space and captivating performance on stage will definitely put you in a good mood, wanting more. It's no wonder the tickets for this show seem to sell out weeks in advance. Just don't forget to bring your own refreshments as there are no drinks for sale on site. read more

My daughter celebrated her birthday with 40 of her friends at the Magic Patio. Andrew could not had been a better and gracious host! His show was hilarious, fast paced, and had the whole audience involved. Andrew kept us guessing and his positive energy and love of magic was most evident. I wholeheartedly recommend "The Magic Patio" for anyone who not only loves magic, but wants to be entertained by a true professional magician! And BYOB was a big hit as well! read more

Amazing!! Andrew has a ton of charisma and talent. You have to purchase tickets in advance because they sell out. Highly recommend.

Absolutely everything! Andrew is truly a gifted performer and magician! Jaw dropping, mouth open, how the H did he do that kind of evening for a full fun packed 90 minutes. Venue in Bernal Heights on Mission was intimate (~60 people) and conveniently located close to many neighborhood restaurants for a bite before or after the show! One stop fun filled evening in SF! I saw Andrew Evans perform in the Presidio about a year ago and have been looking forward to seeing him again. My recent visit to his Magic Patio did not disappoint and his performance was even more remarkable and fun! The performance gets the crowd involved and it was clear everyone there was having a wonderful time. Oh, and the email communication leading up to the show is much appreciated. Highly recommended! read more

I agree with the other 5* reviews! This was SO MUCH FUN, and definitely a change from other nights out. The venue is beautiful, the audience primed and ready for an old-fashioned good time, and the performance was amazing. I'm still stumped! Not to mention that the magician is both talented and quite funny at the same time, and delighted kids to elders. Plus, it was right in my neighborhood (I found out about it by walking by the storefront), and next to a number of excellent dinner restaurants. Go, put your phone down, and have some fun! read more

We went to The Magic Patio to celebrate my husband's birthday. The magician kept all the audience intrigued and happy the entire time. The acts I wouldn't share since you should go experience them all on your own. Some of us are still trying to figure out how the magic worked - we went in August and it's almost December go figure. If you have a chance please definitely try going to the Magic Patio. It's fun for all ages. Also, definitely buy your snacks prior to the show. read more

I went here for my birthday (actually on my birthday) 12/17/25 and it was a magical night. My friends and I were super in awe of this show, the tricks, the showmanship, the large amount of audience participation. What a wonderfully enchanted evening! It was BYOB and an intimate venue which both added to the awesomeness. I'm bringing my family back in January and even though I'll likely see the same tricks I know I'll still be in awe and seeing others experience it with me will also be amazing! I have also seen the illusionist which I also enjoyed but I definitely liked the vibe of this show as it is a completely different experience (it's also half the price for those on a budget!) read more

A hidden gem experience right in the middle of San Francisco! This speakeasy like magic show really impressed me considering I had no expectations. Shows are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with Fri and Sat shows done by Andrew. The space and show are very kid friendly! Andrew is a real performer and involves the audience in every single trick. I've been to quite a few magic shows including the Magic Castle. While not all the tricks were mind blowing, Andrew's energy and performance really made the show for me. This is perfect for new magic enthusiasts or a special night out. Tips: - The space is relatively small so tickets ($40-50) can sell out! Buy with your friends all at once to avoid this. - No reserved seating so show up early if you'd like to be closer to the front and sit with your party. - This place is BYOB! They provide cups in the back, but there's nowhere to place drinks when seated so we just had to be careful and placed them on the floor. - The location is all street parking and very close to Mitchell's Ice Cream for that post-show treat. read more

AMAZING! Such a great performer! Small venue and incredible illusions!! Would HIGHLY recommend!!

I have seen my fair share of magic shows ranging from back yards to dinner theaters to Vegas and this was definitely in my top 3 favorites! Andrew is fun, fresh, clever, and is a great entertainer. If you're shy, there's nowhere to hide because the venue is a good intimate size of about 50. But why hide when you can have a good time? There's tons of audience participation! Some of his tricks were unique and I've never seen them before. And last but not least, you can brink your own drinks!!! Though they do have a bar if you want to purchase. Highly recommended for a great night out. read more

Fascinating and great FUN!!! What a major talent! You will be spell-bound and delighted too!

My husband and I have been into magic shows lately so we did a quick search nearby and The Magic Patio came up! We booked a ticket for a Friday night and arrived about 25mins early to grab a seat. Despite the name being the Magic Patio (an ode to his old venue I assume), the venue is actually indoors, it is BYOB and the magician Andrew even made everyone homemade cookies! Andrew was great, he is such a great performer and does a good job getting the audience involved. His tricks were awesome and really had us scratching our heads for the rest of the weekend. This was probably one of my favorite more intimate magic shows in the city and I would love to come back and see it again. read more

We just went to The Magic Patio for what was the best magic show I've ever seen! This is a true hidden gem. It's a small theater right on Mission St. The magician, Andrew Evans, has a really fun style to him, and did some tricks that blew our minds. It's located near some great restaurants (we ate at Blue Plate, which we loved). This is a perfect date night, family activity (teenage and up, I'd recommend), group get-together, etc. read more

It's funny. It's exciting. It's intimate. It's interactive. It's mind blowing... And it's a pretty awesome time to spend a Friday night (or any night, really!) This is the best magic show in the city. Period! Andrew is LEGEND and creates an amazing atmosphere that is both intimate and epic all at the same time. His charisma and energy make you feel so welcome but it's never stuffy or too "in your face." The tricks he/his team pull off will leave you in genuine awe, and will probably have you talking and thinking about it for days/weeks/months afterwards (like it has for us, lol). Not to mention the delicious cookies and BYOB experience they provide makes having a night out at The Magic Patio a legit unforgettable time. I highly, highly recommend stopping by the Patio. My wife, SiL and BiL attended last night for the Favid Gerard performance- it was indeed memorable! We will ALL go back. How David kept every member of the audience engaged and AWED for about 90 minutes ... nobody knows. It was flabbergasting and fun and memorable and WTF?????? We cannot wait to see Andrew perform. These two guys and their small team have really put together some show! And don't forget to visit The Royal Cuckoo Organ Lounge afterward for a cocktail and Hammond B3 jazz and blues!! read more
