Dude. I love this place. I come here to get in touch with my inner-hippie-incense-loving-solstice-seeking-free-spirit-wanna-be-pagan self. There are books, funky clothes, essential oils, incense, pipes, stickers, mood rings, other jewelry...etc....so much to look at and peruse through. Before I lived in this area, I would visit the Magic Moon every time I was in town to purchase a particular brand of lavender oil (that's unfortunately not being produced anymore). Regardless of the fact that my favorite essential oil company no longer exists, I still just love stepping in here to smell the smells, feel the vibe, talk to cool people behind the counter and find something fabulous to purchase. read more

Great service, variety and selection of elemental goods with a decent value. Some things are slightly over priced, but businesses have to make some profit. Lil cramped for space, but was authentic in appearance. Take a look see, you just might find some unique stones, incense, and other earth grounding/centering/cleansing items! read more

They always have exactly what i am looking for when i walk in! Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Love this place. The people are so nice. There is a wide variety of crystals, jewelry, tarot, singing bowls, just to name a few. I love the mystery bag. I got the medium size and 3 tarot cards, candle, 4 crystals, and a sticker. read more

I came here at the end of my trip to Saratoga. The staff are lovely and there are so many things that I wish I had more time to look at. I hope they have a website. :) read more

Romantic Anniversary Weekend = Eight Herbs and Gems Needed Selection: When we arrived on Sunday and went for a walk down to Broadway, I was excited to find Magic Moon. It was just closing up at the time, but on our way out of town, I made a special stop in with a list of supplies I needed in hand. It's basically part metaphysical/new age store and part head shop, a combo that makes sense in vaguely college-town Saratoga. You can pick up a new piece and some incense all at one. A wide selection of incense and herbs, which excited me. They had nearly everything I needed herb-wise (nettles, milk thistle, cedar tips, frankincense, patchouli, valerian), except one, which they were just out of. Candles galore and a semi-complete selection of stones and gems. I picked up a tektite (which I had never used before and was suggested for me) and a serpentine. Jewelry and tarot cards, runes and statues abound. There's also a bunch of apartment-oriented things, like shawls, doorframe beads, tapestries, lots of tie-die. It's a mish-mash of things, but it's stores like this where you find the best stuff at great prices. Compared to how much I've spent on pieces of tektite since, $3 for a rather large piece has pleased me. If I ever end up that way again, you can bet I'll be stopping in to stock up. Anyone and everyone could fill their pantry for cheap at Magic Moon. Venue: The best thing I love about stores like these are how fun they are inside. You'll smell (or at least I've been told) the incense and calm down as soon as you walk in. There's something in every nook and cranny of the store, and you could spend all day looking at everything. It's a large enough store, and while it might feel a bit cramped, it's only because the multicultural statues and all the awesome stuff takes up space! It's just off the main drag on Phila, and it's probably gets a lot of foot traffic, but both times I went it was empty. After getting a cup of coffee go spend some time at Magic Moon, you're bound to find something. The staff are helpful and can recall details of stones off the top of their heads, they'll help you find whatever you need. read more

The Magic Moon - Spiritual Shop Near Me - Saratoga Springs, New York

Went here today as a special trip, just found out about this store via Facebook. Glad I found out about it, this is a great shop! They sell everything like gemstones, pendulums, incense, clothes, tarot cards, books, scarves, necklaces, bracelets, candles, wands, and all kinds of incense burners, etc. The store is small, but has a great selection. The staff is very friendly and store is kept nice and clean, can't wait to go back! read more

See all

Very nice place, too bad the store owner has a terribly bitter attitude and lacks professionalism in every sense of the word. Definitely unfortunate for such a cute store that I like. If this store strives to be a Saratoga institution, then management needs to be either overturned or somehow dramatically changed. Shame read more

I was really excited to stop by this shop. Heard only good things about it. After work on friday ( I work In a primary care office as a Physician assistant) - the only day I get out early, I decided to stop in. I was not even a few seconds through the door when I was approached by someone I assume works there who asked me if I could leave my purse behind their counter as they were having problems lately. First of, are you insinuating that I am going to steal your stuff ... lol. I have medical documents in my bag and my credit cards, my money , my phone and my work laptop. Yeah - NO! I am not about to leave my bag with you - 10 year old looking kid with street clothes. Sorry not sorry! And why did you assume out of everyone that the person dressed in proper work attire and well put together would be the one to steal from you? Was it because I had a surgical mask on ? To protect me from covid because I have an at risk child or was it the color of my skin? Whatever your reason for judging me I will never know because I will never be back to your store. You lost what could be a loyal customer who has the money to pay you by essentially treating a new Customer as a lowly thief. Unbelievable! read more

I have lived around the area for awhile now and used to like Magic Moon because it was the only cool hippie head shop that I knew of in my high school days. Now that I am about to graduated college, I have visited over the summer with some of my friends and boyfriend. For the past 3 times I have visited, I have had a bad experiences. The female employee behind the counter smirked and looked us up and down at us as we walked in asking for all our IDs. That's fine...but do you have to be 18 to be the store? All of my friends and I were above the age of 20, so I am not sure if she was trying to push us out or just be a b#@%!. I just felt very attacked when I walked into the store especially when I wasn't looking at any pf the smoking pieces/tobacco. All of their smoking pieces are way over priced by 5-10 bucks anyway. And their hookah shisha is 8 dollars a box for ones you can buy for 4 dollars on Lark. Basically, everything in their store is overpriced because it's tourist hippie shop in Downtown Saratoga. Also, they have "legal herbs" and "zan-x" behind the counter if you ask for it. The employee behind the counter said "kava kava" is herb that you can do recreationally. I looked at this kava kava for 27 bucks and it happens to be the same stuff I take as supplement for better sleeping/stress. You can buy the liquid extract of the kava root in a health food store for 13 bucks. They had more than a 50% mark-up. And if you research kava kava, altho it can be used recreationally, most people get sick form the amount you'd need to take of this herb to feel strong effects. I feel like they try to sell any herb as some kind of recreational drug. If you want to get fucked up, have a beer or go buy some pot, seriously. Don't waste your money and time with this over priced grass. I have had just bad experiences with the employees. And everytime I come here, I never get anything. Nothing is that special and everything is over priced. Don't fall for the tourist hippie trap. read more

Amazing, friendly staff. Wide selection of crystals- gifts, books, incense....metaphysical everything! Very welcoming to just walk into this shop. My gf and I were in Saratoga for just a stopover on our way to Niagara Falls... I bought a few Grateful Dead decals and a keychain. When returning home to MA- one of the decals had issues with the paper backing- not a huge deal but- the owner PERSONALLY contacted me and SENT ME 2 new ones!!! Again, the vibe in the shop is amazing and the customer experience is 5 star! This is a must see in Saratoga Springs. Magic read more

Another awesome stop in Saratoga Springs! This was my second visit here and certainly not the last. This cute little shop is just a little off the main strip and worth a gander. I was first lured in by the A frame outside advertising tarot readings and the sale rack of awesome clothes. Walking in the smell of incense and sage washes over you and the experience begins. The store is divided into two shopping areas- with the front room being jewelry, clothes, incense, dream catchers... Down a step and into the second room, the walls are lined with crystals, gems, and other minerals. In the center you can find more clothes and shelves with sage, shells, tarot cards, greeting cards, and lots of other fun knickknacks. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get in with the tarot reader as she was booked the whole afternoon but we will be back for a reading the next time we are in the area! read more

If you happen to lose your how-to guide on failing businesses, or you're just more of a hands-on learner, this is the place for you. Absolutely horrible, RUDE employees. My friends and I (who, not for nothing, look completely normal. No crazy hair or outfits or anything to suggest we are delinquents, even though that's exactly who this shit show caters to) came into the shop and were walking around for maybe less than two minutes when we were accused of shoplifting (DID NOT) and asked to leave because of our "open beverages" ...a bottle of pressed juice with a LID ON. Like?? Excuse me?? You literally sell dirt and drugs god forbid I get a crumb on your trash. read more

fat fingered the check it. DEF NOT A BAR!!!! im sure its a brilliant hobby shop, as judging from the rest of the reviews i'll leave 4 stars as an apology. read more

I first visited this beautiful shop two weeks ago. I was to meet Tracy Fluty, psychic medium, here for a reading, so I arrived a bit early. The staff greeted me with smiles and positively glowed with goodwill. The shop is all you can imagine an metaphysical shop to be: books, incense, gems, jewels, essences galore, candles, and it is so packed with goodies it would take hours to see it all. My reading with Tracy Fluty went so quickly and was quite profound. I wait a couple years between readings and had actually moved from another state but heard she was excellent. I am so happy I took the chance on her and on The Magic Moon. read more

Great little store with a little bit of everything. Very good energy and helpful staff

I was a frequent buyer from this store and I love their jewelry selection. The previous time I went in, however, the staff were a bit rude. I bought a ring from them about two months ago and spent a lot of money on it and it broke, so I went in hoping for some store credit. I think they thought I didn't get the ring from there and said that I should've been more careful. I've spent about $200 on jewelry collectively there and I'm so disappointed in the service I received after supporting their business. All I wanted was a new ring that cost even less the value of my broken one. I spent about $45 on the ring, it was sterling silver, so it shouldn't have broken after such a short amount of time in the first place. I've worked retail before and I understand it's difficult to give store credit like this, but this was a unique product that they should have known they sold. I'm super disappointed with this service after spending so much of my money on their jewelry. I'm from Saratoga and I even recognized the staff that were doubting I bought the ring from there. I feel really bad writing this review but it just ruined my overall vibe. All of the other staff has been so nice to me but this one employee was so rude. Anyways, I'll find my rings and earrings elsewhere now. read more

I made a special point to go to The Magic Moon last time I was in Downtown Saratoga, not for anyone one thing in particular but just to browse. I have been getting into Tarot and thought I might look at their cards and look at their gemstones as well. The shop itself is small and packed tight with wares from floor to ceiling. They carry incense, candles, herbs, clothes, jewelry, cards, books, decor pieces, gem stones, and more. The selection of Tarot cards was very large and had a good variety. If I hadn't just bought a set a would have bought some. So, A+ on the Tarot Cards. The gem stones on the other hand were pretty sad. The selection was fine but the prices and pieces were not good at all. Too much for what you were buying. My sister in law found a cute anklet that she bought so the trip was worth it. I will go back if I am going to buy more cards but I will buy my gems from other places. read more

Sweet little hippie/new age shop. Every time I'm in town, I go there to check out what's new. I tend to buy incense, stickers, sometimes clothes or books. They have a good tarot selection, lots of interesting books and trinkets too. It's a sweet shop with great energy. The staff are friendly. read more

This is a great little shop. There are so many unusual and cool items to look at. These type of stores is one of the best thing to come out of the sixties. I have heard about Magic Moon for several years now but just have never had the opportunity to go in there until this past weekend. I was never greeted by the 2 clerks, neither of whom were very busy, they never asked if I needed any help. They were both down-right rude to my boyfriend. One was more concerned with pushing their most expensive "pipes" on the stoners than helping us. I found their products to be vastly over-priced. A few other people I have spoken to since regarding them have said the same thing. I will definitely NOT be returning. read more

I visit the store 1-2 a month to get sage, candles, crystals and other necessary supplies. Often I will browse through their huge selections of "new age" topic books. They always have something great that I find. The staff is always friendly and often they will offer insightful solutions and suggest materials to help me with whatever topic or area-of-need I have. I have also turned several friends on to the shop. They have now become regular customers. This place and the people are wonderful. There is awesome energy here. read more
