Romantic Anniversary Weekend = Eight Herbs and Gems Needed Selection: When we arrived on Sunday and went for a walk down to Broadway, I was excited to find Magic Moon. It was just closing up at the time, but on our way out of town, I made a special stop in with a list of supplies I needed in hand. It's basically part metaphysical/new age store and part head shop, a combo that makes sense in vaguely college-town Saratoga. You can pick up a new piece and some incense all at one. A wide selection of incense and herbs, which excited me. They had nearly everything I needed herb-wise (nettles, milk thistle, cedar tips, frankincense, patchouli, valerian), except one, which they were just out of. Candles galore and a semi-complete selection of stones and gems. I picked up a tektite (which I had never used before and was suggested for me) and a serpentine. Jewelry and tarot cards, runes and statues abound. There's also a bunch of apartment-oriented things, like shawls, doorframe beads, tapestries, lots of tie-die. It's a mish-mash of things, but it's stores like this where you find the best stuff at great prices. Compared to how much I've spent on pieces of tektite since, $3 for a rather large piece has pleased me. If I ever end up that way again, you can bet I'll be stopping in to stock up. Anyone and everyone could fill their pantry for cheap at Magic Moon. Venue: The best thing I love about stores like these are how fun they are inside. You'll smell (or at least I've been told) the incense and calm down as soon as you walk in. There's something in every nook and cranny of the store, and you could spend all day looking at everything. It's a large enough store, and while it might feel a bit cramped, it's only because the multicultural statues and all the awesome stuff takes up space! It's just off the main drag on Phila, and it's probably gets a lot of foot traffic, but both times I went it was empty. After getting a cup of coffee go spend some time at Magic Moon, you're bound to find something. The staff are helpful and can recall details of stones off the top of their heads, they'll help you find whatever you need.

Went here today as a special trip, just found out about this store via Facebook. Glad I found out about it, this is a great shop! They sell everything like gemstones, pendulums, incense, clothes, tarot cards, books, scarves, necklaces, bracelets, candles, wands, and all kinds of incense burners, etc. The store is small, but has a great selection. The staff is very friendly and store is kept nice and clean, can't wait to go back!

Amazing, friendly staff. Wide selection of crystals- gifts, books, incense....metaphysical everything! Very welcoming to just walk into this shop. My gf and I were in Saratoga for just a stopover on our way to Niagara Falls... I bought a few Grateful Dead decals and a keychain. When returning home to MA- one of the decals had issues with the paper backing- not a huge deal but- the owner PERSONALLY contacted me and SENT ME 2 new ones!!! Again, the vibe in the shop is amazing and the customer experience is 5 star! This is a must see in Saratoga Springs. Magic

This is your best indicator that they're open. Otherwise you might not notice this hidden gem because it's upstairs in an office building. But as soon as you make it through the door, you won't regret having come! It's clear to see that these guys have a good time with their shop. There are labels for sections and parts of the store that could only grow out of fondness, like "The Cave" for the small little room that sits next to the check-out desk, where the psychology and sci-fi books are housed. Love the combo. Or "The Treasure Chest" for overflow books, so varied and ever changing, that you never know what you might find. They have an ever-changing new arrivals section, displaying some of the more popular current novels, which is a great place to look for recommendations. They also have a great children's section, with old readers from quite a while back. Their foreign language section is pretty limited, but that's the case with most bookstores. There were some beautiful old books in German last time I was there. They have a great new england and Vermont section, though I can't admit to having browsed it very thoroughly. Amazingly, they also order books for you if they don't have something. A very kind service. It's worth a visit to this wonderful used bookstore. It's surprisingly large, and full of a huge variety of books.

The knowledgeable staff is wonderful to deal with in person or by telephone. The store even offer a frequent shopper rewards card. I had to pick up a book I ordered. Like many people, I prefer to support small businesses rather than Amazon and large mall bookstores whenever I can. The store was packed with great displays of books and gifts artfully arranged. I am always impressed with the space and attention devoted to books etc. for children. Before I checked out with the book I ordered, I selected a children's board book, three greetings cards, a stained glass frame for a 5 X 7 photo, and an adorable pair of llama socks for my young granddaughter. Great retail therapy!
