The only dive bar in Laurel, and therefore, the best!…read more In all seriousness this place is awesome. Do you like pool? Great! Inexpensive drinks? Fantastic! Good vibes? Hell yeah! If you answered yes to all three questions then The Grill is for you. If you didn't, The Grill is still for you. See you there!

This dive joint is known simply as "The Grill" and is located on the exact edge of the city limits of Laurel, MS. Even though they are called "The Grill" they are not a restaurant and don't regularly sell food but they do sometimes have food along with a nice BBQ grill on their back patio. It is getting harder to find a classic dive bars like this and there is one bad aspect many dives share and that is some of them still allow smoking so for non-smokers like myself it is a bit hard to breathe in here with the nasty cigarette funk. They also have a limited selection of drinks with most of their beers being in cans although they serve your ice cold beer in a Koozie. The great news is the prices are cheap and the bartenders and patrons are friendly. The best thing about this joint is the awesome juke box that has a fantastic selection of music. This is a serious pool bar and they have two pool tables with cue sticks around the walls with people's names on them along with warnings not to touch their cues. Overall this is a great dive bar that really has that authentic ambiance which takes decades to build up. Not many tourists ever find this joint and many locals don't even know about this great dive bar so it is a great spot to hide away and have some fun. Such a cute place to stop on the way to Florida! The staff is friendly and it's an America loving…read moresmall business. The food was good as well. We had the hamburger steak, baked beans, Cole slaw, salad, fries, chicken tenders and hamburger. All were delicious and very generous servings. The shop was very cute and had plenty of homemade goodies. This is definitely a spot we will visit when we drive cross country again! For those with food allergies: I didn't ask about frying foods so my son with seafood allergies didn't have their fries. They do have fried shrimp and some other seafood items and my son didn't want to risk it or make it a big deal. A lot of their snacks in the shop did have nuts. I also didn't ask about a military discount because I was happy to support this Christian America loving small business.

The livers were a little over cooked slaw and bbq beans were good, not much on her corn bread as it was dry tasting. I had the fried chicken (breast and wing) bbq beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a jalapeños corn bread muffin. The chicken was over cooked (all it was missing was a belt buckle). Wasn't impressed with my jalapeños corn muffin dried, bbq beans were good with lots of flavor the mashed potatoes could've used a little more gravy. This is self serve you ordered picked it up, got your own utensils and drinks. This a cute country store and restaurant with a garden center. The dining areas they had to patios o e enclosed the other open both had ceiling fans. Lots of seating but evidently they clean the tables tops you're going to eat at. Needless to say this wasn't the experience we were expecting not sure if we'd return to dine there again
