On the floor in the hallway- for 2 weeks
    Jessica M.

This has got to be the worst place I've ever rented, and I lived in a lot of apartments throughout my life. First of all it is like living inside an elementary school. There are always children playing in the hallways, running through the adult workout room, and screeching at the top of their lungs. If you don't have kids, I highly suggest you don't move here. It is NEVER quiet here. Parents don't seem to ever be parenting their kids. Kids stay up all hours of the night. The walls are extremely thin so you can hear the people above you constantly. If you live by the stairwell, you can literally feel the vibrations from people clammering up the stairs from your bed. We moved our bedroom to the smallest space in our apartment in order to get away from the stairs, but you can still hear it. We have a white noise machine to help deaden the sound of our neighbors but you can still hear them regardless. Residents are extremely disrespectful of the neighbors and don't care if the 7 children playing in the hallway is bothersome to other residents. Management has got to be the most incompetent people around and I've watched them go through several managers during the time I've been here. They couldn't even remember what garages they assigned residents to and had to ask everyone again. We had a fridge that leaked for the first 6 months we lived here before it was fixed. When you email management they say they will get back to you and then never do, despite you telling them how frustrating that is. They charged me for pet rent after my pet died and said they needed a death certificate of proof she died. My vet ended up calling them! We complained about children being in the workout room unsupervised but nothing came of it. Basically residents do whatever they want, walk in the middle of the street 7 wide with their strollers and don't move over to let the cars through, walk right behind your car as you are backing up and expect you to stop as opposed to watching out for vehicles ( you know, since you are walking in front of the garages!), leave grocery carts and strollers all over the property, etc.. This place looks beautiful but it is poorly crafted and the residents are the worst I have ever experienced in my life. This place is a shit show. It's amazing that you can pay such an outlandish price for rent and have such a terrible experience with management and the residents. Most people want to come home from work and relax, not deal with other peoples kids playing in the hallway and screaming. Oh and I'd think twice about swimming in that beautiful pool because its been closed before for kids shitting in the pool. Like I said, this place is a shit show. It seems nice to be able to have packages delivered to the office, however people take forever to sign them in and email you that they are are even there, and then when you come pick them up, they finish with new residents before they will grab your package. Like another reviewer said, once you are a resident they don't care what you need anymore. You know the place is not doing well when they constantly are offering $750 off rent to refer a friend. Maybe if they actually respected their residents and treated people in a professional manner they wouldn't need to promote discounts all the time because the place could sell itself in looks alone. It should more appropriately be called, "refer an enemy," because noone would refer a person they actually liked to a place like this. Sleepless in Seattle after hearing children run back and forth on the floor above me at 1:30am last night, just a typical day at The Madison Bellevue. Attached is a pic of underwear that sat on the floor in the hallway for 2 weeks. Just typical stuff I would see, along with toys in the hall.

One of the highlights for me was the kitchen though

They are always ready to help you and solve your problem. I can feel they really care about your problems and want to make your stay comfortable and happy. I had a package showed delivered but actually the mail man did not delivered to my door or in the locker. Manager MT helped me, we looked every possible corner. Although we failed to find it, he suggests me to send him the proof of delivery and he will help me asking the mailman where the package is. I really appreciate his help for me, which makes me feel much better from the frustrations of finding a missing mail. Besides, their building is concrete so that it is always quiet. They have air conditioning and they have great places for BBQ, game, party. And they have a gym. I like their decorations in the lobby and hallways. They have a lot of lightning in the room so you may not need to buy several floor lamps. I love their kitchen island, which save me buying a dining table. There are 7-11 and CVS next to the Meyden; and a 5 mins walk to Safeway. So it is convenient! Also, the downtown park are great for walker, jogger, dogs; the beach park has a stunning view all season, and super fun water sport time in the summer. The Bellevue square could be a great shopping place. And the Bellevue art museum is about 10 mins walking. I love living here and I recommend to live at the Meyden.

When I moved out, they claimed several hours of sanding work required for repainting and were evasive about providing evidence that it actually took so long. Every lease renewal saw a giant jump in rates (9.9% one year), which we negotiated back down to sane levels. They use algorithmic pricing designed to worsen the housing crisis while maximizing their profits. They also recently decided to stop offering affordable housing units under the MFTE program. Building was frequently under repair, including elevators being out of service for months, which was incredibly difficult when my partner was recovering from knee surgery. The units, which are now finally undergoing renovation, were poorly lit with low quality fixtures like plastic track lights, vinyl flooring, and a prison shower head. The original office staff were quite unhelpful and antagonistic, prioritizing nagging residents about hallway door decorations (while simultaneously awarding prizes for holiday decorations??). This has improved with almost complete turnover in staffing. Maintenance staff have always been very responsive and helpful. Regarding Capitol Hill itself, the value of the neighborhood has really declined. If you want to pay $4,000/mo to live in walking distance of 15 boba tea shops and national fried chicken chains while ignoring the human misery all around you, go for it I guess.

First few years were great (moved in 2016), managers were really nice. Shout out to Mimi, and then Schick, both were fantastic. But after they left things really went downhill. Management was just a lot more unresponsive, less helpful. Maintenance folks were good but of course they depend on management to relay tickets, so that was a problem. Turnover was a real problem as well - some just seemed clueless. The worst thing honestly was after we moved out. Manager was very lazy about how he handled the final inspection and refund of our deposit. I had provided him a new address to send it to and also had mail forwarding so that wasn't the issue, and of course he had my phone number and email address. I called but was simply told it'd be a couple of weeks. Still nothing so I email them multiple times, still nothing. So I just let it go. Fast forward a year and we receive a letter from a DEBT COLLECTOR (IQ Data Inc, a notoriously aggressive and unpleasant debt collector, look up reviews). Turns out the cleaning costs/final utilities cost more than the deposit - but the manager had failed to send a statement of charges, and worse, wouldn't even respond to my multiple attempts to follow up on our deposit/any charges. Instead he just let it go straight to collections... I asked if I could at least be refunded/reimbursed for the interest the debt collectors were charging on top of the original charges, a measly $27, but wouldn't even do this. Be warned, this is the sort of thing you may have to deal with after the move out. Not a rent paying resident anymore so they don't care I guess. There were also multiple break ins in the parking lot even during evenings when the garage doors should have been closed - seems they just left it open because it was easier e.g. for contractors. My car was broken in but nothing was stolen (don't leave valuables of course!), but a coworker who also lived there straight up had his car stolen. It might seem cheap for the location (still expensive of course, this is Bellevue), but it's for a reason. Updating my review since the new manager also broke their promise and ended up refusing to reimburse me.

Yep, that's the list. Enjoy that sweet, cold air while everything else falls apart. Restaurants nearby, which is great since you'll be spending a lot of time wandering around looking for your DoorDash order. The bad: Garage horror story: Found a shirt with what looked like human feces behind my car days after moving in. Management's reaction? Shrugged it off and blamed a dog that doesn't even live here. A+ security! Apartment design straight from a startup office: Kitchen has a cubicle wall instead of an island. Closets are just a rod. No balcony screen, but sure--pets allowed! What could go wrong? AC vents? Smell like they haven't been cleaned since the building was constructed. Amazon locker roulette: Lockers are down by the dumpster. Classy. Don't be surprised if your package ends up with a neighbor--or in another building entirely. Access system overkill: You'll need three separate systems to live your daily life here. Butterfly app, SmartRent, and a fob--none of which work well together. Android users, prepare to be locked out. Food delivery scavenger hunt: No clear delivery instructions, and couriers can't navigate the Butterfly app. After 10+ times of searching for my food in random buildings or outside, I've accepted that my dinner now lives in the wild. Airbnb-palooza: Strangers coming and going 24/7, no background checks, and enough weed stench in the halls to hotbox the whole floor. Who needs safety or a sense of community, right? Bottom line: If you like cold air and chaos, this is your place. Otherwise, maybe wait for a management overhaul--or a miracle.

I am a super busy small business owner, so it was really important to me that I work with an experienced team who knew how to take the steering wheel and DRIVE. That's Stefne and Zach to a tee. They would sweat the small stuff so that I didn't have to. When we started the listing process, it took less than a week to get the place staged, pictures taken, uploaded, and the property listed. The best part? I didn't have to lift a finger! When we needed to schedule showings and open houses, Stefne and Zach worked directly with my tenants to make sure everyone was accommodated so that we could get the show on the road. They sent me timely updates throughout the whole process. As a team they were very responsive to my particular wants and needs. When we finally started getting multiple offers, they did an excellent job of talking me through my options, never once pressuring me on any one.
