It's rare to find a contractor with quality communication skills, an eye for detail, and real care…read morefor their craftsmanship. San Diego Hardscapes, led by Lou Soto, is that contractor. We had been planning to redo our front yard ever since buying our house. I sought several quotes from larger companies, but the numbers were eye-popping. One day while walking through our neighborhood, we noticed a house getting the final touches on their front yard remodel. The quality of the work was excellent, so I decided to chat with the contractor. Lou was welcoming from the get-go and transparent about his timing, costs, and the services he provides. He works with you on an ongoing basis and actively strives to keep costs low while maintaining high quality. He completed our exterior wall, water feature, concrete pavers, front deck, and outdoor lighting - all of which came out beautifully. Lou works with a small team, usually just himself and an assistant, so don't expect miracles to happen overnight. A project as large as mine took longer than if I had paid a much larger sum for a big company to speed through the process. The issue with those larger companies is that while they get it done faster, their quality often suffers because you never know who is working on what or what their skillset is. If you have patience, time, and a vision, then SD Hardscapes is your company. Just be prepared to bring in help for demolition, landscaping, or other services - all of which Lou will help coordinate as much as possible. Bottom line: If you're looking for a reliable, professional San Diego hardscape contractor (whose skills extend well beyond just hardscape work), then Lou and San Diego Hardscapes are for you. He earns both my and my wife's 5-star review.

Not only is it top-notch but Lou has great customer service support and follow up. If anything is needed to repair or replace- as often happens with construction by no fault of the contractor- Lou is on it right away with no issues or problems. We so appreciate this and know we can call on him anytime. Which we have. Countless times. And he always delivers. Nothing is too much or too out of the box. If there is something we want done that Lou is not familiar with he researches this and communicates his thoughts and ideas with us so that we can come up with a very good specific plan. We cannot recommend San Diego hardscapes and Lou enough! Do yourselves a favor and hire them for your next job- but not when we need them!! And the value is beyond anything elsewhere. Quality person and work. Great value! Thanks so much Lou and San Diego Hardscapes for all that you've done for us and continue to do. Our best days are when Lou and his team are at our home !! David, our general contractor, and Ruth, the owners, were incredibly responsive and accommodating. They listened, adapted, and made sure our vision was carried through. Matt took his time, met with us, and outlined options for us to choose from that were within our budget and afforded us the best use of the additional yard space we had. Ultimately, we went with a tiered and stepped keystone wall that was absolutely beautiful. Matt's team led by Ernie were all kind, professional, worked hard, and came in on time and within budget. An important factor when selecting a contactor in my opinion. Matt went out of his way to communicate throughout the project, and his team worked very hard to deliver a beautiful project for us. Matt even helped us find other services we were looking for as a courtesy to us. Something else of note, they did a great job with our neighbors listening to questions they had, responding to them, and did a great job to accommodate their asks and needs since this was a tight project and a small material laydown space to get material back to. If you're looking for a professional team, reasonably priced that can deliver on a vision for your property, look no further than Paving Stone of San Diego, I highly recommend their services. Kris M.
