STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I am not sure what happened, they used to be really good. They cancelled us in November of 2024 for nonpayment. We could not get anyone to tell us why our submissions for payment were not going through. They always said "we'll call you back" After 3 months of continuous calling, we gave up trying to get an answer. Then in September of 2025, they ACH'd, WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION OR PRIOR KNOWLEDGE, all of the premiums for our group from November 1st forward. Hmmm, didn't have a problem then did they? I am having so much difficulty getting this company to pay anything even though it costs almost $200 a month. I could have used the money to pay the bills myself and saved myself a huge headache. I'm going to keep trying to he my bills paid but it's looking pretty hopeless and I'm starting to realize that it looks like I'm going to have to pay them myself. I have been contacting The Loomis Company (approximately every two weeks) since early July 2024 even though I shouldn't have to. Each time I call to check the status of my reimbursement and pre-determination, the result is "give it 10 to 14 days for a response." In addition, the claim and the pre-determination have 'supposedly' been escalated at least three times since early August 2024. To date, there has been no response. I have never seen such a careless and irresponsible insurance company in my life. My fiance and I paid 580.00 a month for 3 years. never had claims until I needed them. I have a 17,000 hospital bill they wont touch. I have over 27,000 in medical bills that just showed up on credit and mind you we had them 2 years before any claim. I recently cancelled my policy for so many reasons. Do not use them. Anyway, that's in another review. I sent in my cancellation email, to the correct address.. and was charged again three weeks later even though the agent on the phone had assured me of my cancellation, provided I sent the email.. which, again, I did. To the correct address. On the phone again, 45 minutes on the phone, confirming my account and all, and I'm telling them that I have other bills to pay! I wish that I could give this company a negative star rating. Their website does not work. The customer service representatives must go through specialized training in lying. I have a claim that is over three months old that is pending. They have asked me for all types of information which has been submitted and they are still saying that it is waiting to be processed. I call weekly and they say it's being escalated. you cannot speak to a supervisor nor is there a policy on how to file a formal complaint. I should have never signed up for insurance with Loomis. The only reason I did was because they are recommended for short term insurance by Blue Cross Blue Shield. I had stomach pain issues and tried to hold off as long as I could but they got so bad I had to go to the doctor. I called Loomis to ensure it was covered and was assured it was covered and my out of cost would be my deductible. They lied. They covered $115 and I am stuck with the rest. They said it was a preexisting condition and not covered. I mentioned how I spoke with a representative prior to going in and told him everything and asked what was covered and what he had said. Last year I had to have a heart Cath. Finally a year later Loomis settled my bill and paid about $8000 of a nealry $50,000 Bill. It was re processed and still no other claim was paid. They said the :usual and customary" cost was only about 50% of the bill charged. I am in the process of filing an appeal. They have refused to call the hospital and try to negotiate and the hospital' billing dept. will not call the insurance company and are threatening to send me to collections. I call every two weeks to check on the status. I also am the agent that sold myself this policy. I will not be marketing this product anymore. The Loomis Company is an insurance SCAM!!! I am reporting them to PA Insurance Board! My husband Signed up Dec 13 2019, in Jan 2020 went to Dr. was sent for MRI and to see a surgeon. Received a Explanation of Benefits on 2/27/2020. Kootenia County Medical has not received payment of any of my bills as of today May 20, 2020. This is a 6 month insurance plan. Yesterday 5/20/2020 I receive a "Pre-Existing" form to fill out. I call Loomis and they inform me I'm in Pre-Existing investigation, just like all the reviews I've read said they would do. My policy ends in June 2020 and not 1 of my medical bills or portion of my medical bills since Jan has been paid. The Loomis Company will put you in a Pre-Existing "To Infinity and Beyond" to the end of your policy investigation. You will waste $200+ a month and get nothing in return. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! The Loomis Company is stating that reissue of my checks are on Alabama Unclaimed Property because a year had lapsed since original issue. I searched numerous times without finding them. When I originally spoke with a representative of The Loomis Company, she told me that if I sent copies of the checks that had not been cashed, which at that time was less than a year from original issue, they would re-issue the checks. I sent them on November 16, 2021 by certified mail and have proof of the day that it was sent. At the time that I sent them and they received the certified letter, it had not been a year since the issue of the checks. The next year I received a letter dated February 21, 2022 stating that a year had lapsed and they could not re-issue the check. This is a failing on their part. It seems like an intentional delay. They failed to refund my money which is all I would like in order to get resolve. I paid for the insurance. This company is not reputable, in my opinion. If they had not put checks at the bottom of the statements, but had sent them separately, this would not have even happened. I only keep the statements for reference. I did not even notice them until I was organizing my files and shredding older paperwork. read more

I had 2 ER visits, one after a car accident and one over some severe stomach pain. They are both being classified as pre-existing. I missed the open period signup and bought one of Loomis' pricier plans ($200+ monthly premium) for several months, and during that time, had to go to a clinic several times for urgent care (it was definitely not a pre-existing condition). All the bills were rejected by Loomis, because they quote, "Your claims denied as not a covered benefit of your plan." I read through their Schedule of Benefits booklet and didn't see any reason for the denial. Contacted them multiple times asking details about why my claims were denied, and never got an answer. You might as well spend the money for premiums on the actual medical bills because Loomis sure isn't going to pay anything for you. read more

Worthless. These are essentially worthless and dangerous policies to have. The coverage is pitched as being useful for serious illness or injury. In fact, and as we learned the hard way, the coverage cannot even be described as minimal. It is a "discount plan" that includes some minimal cash payment. You are likely to be better off just paying cash for emergency services. I don't mean that as a sarcastic comment, it appears to be true. My wife's recent injury, requiring a visit to the ER, a one hour operation to repair a wound, and an overnight stay in a hospital leaves us with about $45,000 in hospital bills to pay. This company could not be less competent with every single thing they do. I have years worth of examples from: having to re-process 12 claims in 6 months, given info that was verified 3 times (once even conferenced in provider) to still be inaccurate costing me over $1,000, fighting now for over 13 months to get money back from providers because they screwed up all the claims for half if 2019, $3,000, customer service promises to fix an issue and I am left to do it every single time (56 calls to resolve issues not to mention wait times)!! If I had any say in it, I would tell any company to not use them to "save money" because what you will lose is frustrated employees. Hate to say it, but I have to agree with everyone else. this policy SUCKS. I have had the plan for a year. In June my doctor said my PSA level was up. I went to a urologist. On his referral. They found prostate cancer and I had it taken out. SO far, they have paid almost NOTHING. Even my referral to the urologist has been denied. NO, not denied. Just delayed. For 7 months and counting. Delayed for a "pre existing Review". They say they are reviewing, but they review, they review, they review. they never finish, and the doctors are waiting to be paid. Eventually, after MANY phone calls, I think they will NEVER finish the review or pay these guys, so I'll pay them. The insurance was of no benefit for most of my bills. NONE. In fact it was a DETRIMENT for my hospital bill. The hospital said my policy paid very little, and if I used it my cost would be $60,000 minus their discounting it to $45,000 and they would pay $1,000 of that and I would pay $44,000. But if I did the "self pay" option, as self pay is $12,000. So it was better to NOT use the insurance, but pay myself, and I saved more money. Why am I paying monthly fees?? Granted, the hospital bill is another subject, but tht is not for this review. Bottom line is they seem to find excuses to not pay anything out and I feel like this company is just scamming me for premiums. They are lower than other companies, but NOT WORTH IT in my opinion. :-( read more
