Twice my husband bought me flowers from CT Flower Shop and both times the flowers were nearly dead…read morewithin 24 hours. The first time I didn't say anything because I didn't want my husband to feel bad. This time, for Mother's Day, when the flowers were a wilted mess within 24 hours I decided to write to the shop and send photos to give them an opportunity to make it right with a refund or replacement, particularly since my husband spent over $180 to have this arrangement delivered. (By the way, the arrangement is appallingly overpriced at $144 and my husband prepaid a hefty delivery fee and an additional very large tip of $20). Although she has promised to send another arrangement today to replace it, she had the audacity to say next time I should follow the instructions and give it water because she claimed there was no water in that vase when in fact it was 3/4 full of water still. The photos provided in my email were close-ups of the wilted flowers and didn't show the vase. I couldn't believe how insulting her response was, trying to deflect blame on the customer. I sent her a response with an additional photo of the full vase of water.... did she think a bouquet of flowers was going to drink nearly half-gallon of water in 12 hours since delivery????? We regularly give businesses second chances, often more, but when a business blames the customer without evidence/justification that's a deal breaker for me. I told my husband just now that he should never use that florist again. I'd rather have no flowers than get poor quality, overpriced flowers from a place that would insult customers like this. Follow up -- in a subsequent email response to me when I had told her that I didn't appreciate her insulting comment, she accused me of refilling the vase after the fact and claimed that my original photo proves it, and refers to me as "triggered". I've added a photo of this communication. And, the first two photos I had attached to this review are what I had sent her (not the one focused on the vase which I sent her after she insulted me). I'm adding to this review a duplicate of the one photo I had sent her and I've added a notation pointing to the water line in that photo - the photo she's claiming shows there's no water. Can you imagine an arrangement drinking over half a gallon of water within like 18 hours LOL. Her behavior in this situation is appalling. 5/13 @ 12:37pm ET: Adding my response to the florist's comment below: She has been repeatedly rude. After making crazy accusations and calling me triggered in email, I told her to not bother sending a new arrangement and instead to send my husband a refund. She was given the opportunity to make it right with my outreach and she chose to be incredibly rude and insulting and direct blame at me rather than just graciously taking accountability like a professional would. After her repeated insults I decided I prefer to not have her come to my house at this point. I've never had to write a bad florist review in all the years my wonderful husband has had flowers sent to me at least 3x/year...till this terrible encounter with this rude woman.

The dad of a close family member passed away unexpectedly. We sent the "Beautiful in Blue" floral…read morearrangement to the Duksa Family Funeral Home at 20 Bonair Ave, Newington, Connecticut. In this arrangement, the serenity of the color blue, along with the purity of intention symbolized by white, let our family know that we were sending our calm strength to them during these difficult times. Beautiful blooms included blue hydrangea, crème roses, white lilies, and alstroemeria, along with yellow and white chrysanthemums, eucalyptus, limonium, and more, beautifully arranged in a dazzling cobalt blue vase. We read the reviews for the various local florists, and after reading the reviews, we selected "Dillon-Chapin Florist". I called the florist and called the florist by phone, and I wanted to be sure that an arrangement could be sent on the same day for the wake service that would start that afternoon, followed by the funeral the next day. I was asked what I was looking for, and I went onto the web site and selected a tall elegant arrangement, so I could share specific flowers and colors that I was considering, along with our sympathy card, because there did not appear to be enough room on the card section on the web site. The florist created a beautiful, thoughtful arrangement that accurately reflected the occasion's solemnity. Dillon-Chapin Florist gets top praise for attentive customer service, timely delivery, and understanding my personal preferences during a difficult time. The florist was willing to incorporate meaningful flowers and colors to personalize the arrangement, making it a fitting tribute to the deceased. I very much appreciated the florist's empathy and care in creating an arrangement that was at the wake, the church service, reception after the burial, and the family's home after the services. The florist created the floral arrangement with attention to detail, beautiful colors, and fresh flowers in February 2025. The sympathy arrangement was stunning and arrived on time at the funeral home. It was exactly what we needed to express our condolences during a difficult time. My family stated, "Your floral arrangement is magnificent, and the funeral home staff even commented on how beautiful it is. Thank you so much for your efforts in creating a floral arrangement in an array of colors that represented the impact that thedeceased's work over the years had on so many family and friendss! Our sincere thanks!
