A new 'micro-pub' ran by a local man.
We had intended to come for a while, having poked our heads in a few weeks ago and had a chat with the landlord. They have a range of around five Kentish ales; I tried a couple and they were both excellent. They also had four ciders, 'fine' wines and port. Food-wise, there are bar snacks as well as things like ploughmans lunches.
The decor is unusual. You can see they take a lot of pride in the place. The walls are decorated with beer mats and there are some photos of historical interest on the wall. It feels unusual these days to have pub with no music and TV, it was a little quiet when we were there at 10pm on a Saturday night but I hear that it is generally heaving with people.
This is a great place to go for a quiet drink with friends. read more
